Even though I am already a vegan, I love listening to your thoughts and conversations with people because it helps me in my decision and also it's a good example of how I should approach others... so thank you!
Well, its not quite Ed. You can't help someone if they won't give you their hand. You can't make the horse drink the water, you can give it to him, but he might still die from dehydration. You gotta be open minded, and have some ciritcal thinking. THat's all.
You made a really good point......supply and demand. I moved to a small town in Arizona 8 years ago and had little options in the way of organic produce, vegan cheese, vegan milk, vegan meats....etc. I had to drive once a month into another state 5 hours round trip to get these products. Fast forward to the present, the local market opened up a whole section for organic produce and an abundance of vegan products because so many people in the community asked continually for these products. ❤️
Actually if we continue just for the next decades, the planet is going to be so destroyed, that there may not be a way for us to be gone... The change must happen NOW. But it doesn't :(
This is why these street interviews are important - not only do they help people realise their own hypocrisy in a Socratic manner, but they help people dispel their own judgements that perhaps vegans are rude or confrontational
it's interesting that people so often say that they would do it, but only if other people do it first or are doing it too... like they want society to change without having to change themselves (until it's more comfortable/required to)
I think people who say that eating dogs and horses is the same as eating other animals may be closer to veganism than the people who say eating dogs is cruel but that are happy to eat pigs and cows. I mean, it maybe looks that they are more removed but before I went vegan I always had discussions with people about eating horse/dog and the fact that I thought it was hypocritical for them to say that's cruel.
I remember that the first time I thought about animal rights properly was when I travelled to Italy and people asked me if I ate frog legs/horse/snails and when I said yes to all of them (French culture), they made a disgusted face and seemed really weirded out... But then later ate pig without any second thought. I already thought it was a bit hypocritical, but now I am so confused as to why eating frog legs is considered more cruel/weird than eating chicken!
+AmeliaLigabue Yes! And the people I know that were (and still are) weirded out by people eating horses/cats/dogs/frogs are the people that are the biggest meat eaters I know! And the ones that also think it's weird I'm vegan.
Great stuff Ed. Immediately after you told them how appreciative you were of their openness and politeness, it would be hilarious if you just pushed them in the pool and ran away laughing like a psychopath. lol
You're such an amazing speaker! I'm still so new and get so outraged, I don't know how you manage to stay so calm, collected and non-confrontational but keep it up! You're doing inspiring work.
The guy in the white is why we need more education! It's not his fault, as it sounds right, but in reality most everything he said was completely incorrect.
Unfortunately most of the population thinks this way because we have been conditioned (brainwashed) from birth to think that way! These interviews are wonderful, he is raising their consciousness and planting a seed. Literally giving them some food for thought and hopefully in doing so these people will connect mind, body and soul to the message. ❤️
I think I have more respect for meat-eaters who WOULD eat dog than for those who wouldn't... At least they don't have ridiculous hypocritical double-standards.
Earthling Ed, you have played an important role in helping me go vegan. Thank you for that. I just want to ask you a few things, though. 1. How do you approach people for these types of interviews? Do you flat out say, "I'm going to ask you questions about Veganism"? Because one day I would like to do these myself. 2. Also, should I wear my Vegan shirt in public/to school to sort of "market" the change? Again, thank you for helping to change my life.
I've done street interviews with Ed. He usually just approaches by asking 'can I ask you some questions about ethics/karma/equality or what ever the subject may be. Usually most people are receptive to it :) so cool that Ed helped you go Vegan!!
+Banana Warrior Princess Thank you so much for the advice! And yea, Ed's 30 days, 30 excuses videos really put things into perspective for me. After watching those videos, I realized that there is absolutely no counter-argument to veganism.
+Andromeda 34 yeah his 30 excuses videos were absolutely amazing. if you're ever in London, you can do some street interviews with us :) I wish more people would do them as it's such an effective form of advocacy
Banana Warrior Princess hi! I recently became vegan and discovered ed's channel in fact left a comment on another video if you guys are organizing meetips in london cause I live here and would love to meet you. i'm interested in the street interviews so if you are doing one soon please let me know on my email mirelaivanova31@gmail.com . thanks!
I am so impressed with how non confrontational you are when you question the people Ed! I'm watching and wanting to throttle some of them! But you manage to pose those questions in such a great way that they open up and talk! Way cool!
I admire how freely you're able to talk about this subject in a non confrontational way. I often want to discuss this with people, but I'm always afraid that they'll get mad.
I love that guys honesty, even if it's hypocritical and makes me shudder lol, most ppl try to sugarcoat bs to feed us when we ask these questions.. it was nice to hear someone being completely honest for a change *in my experiences anyway*
no farm animal can care for itself. yes, they would all go extinct in couple generations. if there is no farmer to feed and care for them. and thats what vegans want. to make all farm animals go extinct rather than exploit them
Damn. You just keep getting better and better. Your approach is the best way to promote veganism! I'm so inspired !! I just made my own first interview and posted it on my channel. Really smart new angles!!!
I love how the guy in the red sweater has listened the whole time and not said much and then in the end it showed how much he had gotten from the conversation(maybe even more than the guy in blue). I often get this feeling that when someone asks me about veganism the people who sit around me and tune in to listen, actually learn and hear more than the person actually engaging in the conversation, because they don't feel personally attacked or need to defend themselves because since they are just listening to the discussion.
+Karlijn VdB (keentobegreen) Yeah, he's been on UA-cam for awhile now promoting the vegan message. I think he was with Ed doing the interview, but it definitely looks like he's there for the guy in the blue sweater.
Wonderful Ed, just can't watch enough!!! Seriously good. I really liked the couple with the Scottish girl and these two lads. The other couple not so much because they had the info but their apathy was very present in their responses. Great job Ed!! Thank you!
I like that you has Cesar there to vibe off of. I think that's really helpful because when one person is struggling there's someone else to back them up.
..Humanity as a whole has been brainwashed on so many levels. Depending on where you were born and to what family you were raised in will determine what religious beliefs you will follow and what animals you will consume. For most, we just follow along without questioning it. I admit to be one of those that blindly followed along with the religious rituals, festivities, the meat and dairy consumption for most of my lifetime until I literally woke up! 👀 I don't know if I would label him as selfish, he's been brainwashed his entire life to believe his thought process on this particular subject. Take a look around you! One cannot walk down a Main Street without seeing animals being served up for consumption in fast food restaurants, the majority of restaurants, food carts, malls and mini malls, grocery stores, not to mention the mass marketing taking place via the media, whether it's on the radio, tv advertisements, movies or regular tv (programming). Humanity is WAKING UP!!!
I think people who don't exclude some species from edibles list are at least not hypocrites and more prone to go vegan in future. I was once getting weird looks for telling my college friends that we've tried every kind of meat that my boyfriend got from his Eastern Europe travel including horse meat . They even called me psycho for asking what's the difference between a horse and a cow or a chicken and a pigeon. Years later I went vegan and they're hosting backyard barbecue parties at weekends.
you're an example for other vegan UA-camrs! you don't blame them but respect and them. really enjoyed this video, and it actually helps me to continue on to my 3th month of not eating animal products. thanks subscribed!
You just keep getting better and better Ed. we need to do some of these again together soon. I will have lots of time to do so soon....London, I'm coming for ya
Naw, it's just so simple -- convenience and taste. Soon the market will be flooded with realistic tasting "meats" and cheezes, just like there is now with non-dairy milks (which is why the dairy industry is starting to "drown" in its own pus and blood) & they'll have no excuse. Especially when it becomes super trendy and everybody wants to jump onboard. It's how it usually works.
Your message and how you communicate it is so kind and comprehensive. You are also such a healthy and fit example of a vegan diet! I'm so happy you're in this world and spreading this message! Keep it up Ed!
Interesting that the plant-based milks seem to be the most popular form of all the non-dairy/meat "substitutes" that people are most naturally gravitating towards, especially when you consider that the non-dairy milk market has literally been flooded with tons of really quality choices! You keep hearing "convenience" and "taste" as excuses, so I really think that when the "real" tasting mock meats and cheezes start flooding the market too (like Impossible Foods newest), then we will see a large migration towards accepting them, just like the plant milks. Give them the taste and convenience and they'll have no excuse!Great interviews, Ed.
I have now been a vegan for 5 weeks and if it wasn’t for people like Ed taking his time to post information on social platforms I would be non the wiser, in this 5 week period 9 more members of my family and friends have totally switched to a plant based diet, please keep up the good work because people like you can and will change the world and stop the unnecessary suffering of animals 👍
The guy in the white shirt next to the girl in the red dress makes the most reasonable arguments. He doesn’t come from a place of arrogance or gluttony but science and practicality.
I don’t know how many people change their minds about what they choose to eat after talking to you Ed, but one thing is for absolute certain, they aren’t more resistant to the idea. And I think planting the seed in their thoughts, although may be slow is a great approach. As for me, I was vegetarian for 22 years for ethical reasons and in the last 5 or so years of being vegetarian I started to learn more about the dairy and egg industry, but it still took me at least 5 or so years to fully transition to veganism, I’d say it took a while because of fear, ignorance and selfishness. Fear: I was told that a vegan ‘lifestyle’ was extremely unhealthy, and what was I going to eat?? Salads?? Ignorance: I didn’t understand the whole scope of cruelty and how it trickles out in so many areas, removing calves from mothers, hens laying more eggs than natural. Selfishness: taste and convenience. I wish I knew then what I know now, and that’s why I think your approach is amazing, you inform, offer facts they may not have considered and let them come to their own conclusions in their own times where they may just get to that point where they stop and think “I cannot partake in the exploitation of animals any longer”
WOW Amazing ! You are a true diplomat, the way you communicate with people is phenomenal ! Made me wanna walk around my city and do the same with selfish meat-eaters ! So inspirational, thank you for it.
Hi Ed. I absolutely love your channel, your activism, your courage, intelligence and honesty ect and am a huge fan :) I have watched all your on the street interview videos and i have to say you was not on your usual game here :( Something seemed off and your confidence was not 100% there like it is usually. Please do not take offence, i mean it in the most constructive way. I felt you did not challenge those that were interviewed enough in this video and when the guy talked about genetically modified farming again you didn't challenge it! We both know organic farming over genetically modified farming will always be the best. There are studies that have been conducted to prove how destructive and useless GMO crops and farming is compared with organic farming! You were also overly thankful and polite at the end of each interview to the people you interviewed to the point where it was a little cringe! I am fully aware of your non confrontational approach to interviewing these meat and dairy consumers but we must not feel inferior to them and literally thank them to death for being interviewed, they are the ones who should feel ashamed and embarrassed and apologetic, polite and thankful to you for trying to open there minds up! I hope you do not take what i have said the wrong way. I just feel your other interviews have been brilliant and the way in which you conducted yourself in them and the challenging questions, answers and responses you gave to the people being interviewed were much better and i was very impressed so maybe you were just having an off day? Good luck Ed. Keep up the great work mate...and your still very much a legend in my book ;)
you know in Canada they took smoking areas out of everything even bars. people didn't think we could survive this way but it's weird now when you see people smoke indoors it's taboo now . hopefully veganism goes this way at least in civilized societies we can make vegan ism the norm and meat eaters the 5 % of society.
Excellent. Great job Ed. I don't know if you saw my comment on your previous video, I'll insert it here: Hey Ed, I saw you protest by Burger King yesterday and was wondering if I could know when you do these demonstrations and all the information. (I don't have facebook or anything though...)
Hi Ed. Love your channel. I just saw your 'apologetic vegans' video and it got me thinking. I am curious about what your opinion is on vegan high school teachers. Some teachers have been fired for being outspoken about their beliefs. Parents have lashed out regarding teachers presenting vegan views to their children. I know this is a problem with the system as a whole, but what would you do if your job security was in conflict with your ideologies and your obligation to justice? This is a problem i am attempting to reconcile at the moment. Just wondering what your opinion was on this?
your videos are so so inspiring! I feel that after watching these I am able to be a lot more calm when conversing with people about veganism and I feel a lot more hopeful. thanks you for your videos, you're amazing!
18:20 - its a bit of a leading question.. They are all leading questions, taking you down the garden path to his conclusions, that is Socratic debate in a nutshell. Morality is a social construct, there are, imho at least, no absolute rights and wrongs, a single exception invalidates the rule. If I can envisage a situation where I would have to eat an animal then I have to come to the conclusion that eating animals is ok. I'm enjoying these videos because there is at least some measure of rational debate going on but I'm a long way from changing my mind or my diet
Even though I am already a vegan, I love listening to your thoughts and conversations with people because it helps me in my decision and also it's a good example of how I should approach others... so thank you!
Lumi Wille for sure
Salim El ?
So true
Ed can change a persons answer in under 2 minutes without them even realizing
Well, its not quite Ed. You can't help someone if they won't give you their hand.
You can't make the horse drink the water, you can give it to him, but he might still die from dehydration.
You gotta be open minded, and have some ciritcal thinking. THat's all.
I think Ed's bun is under appreciated. It should have its own Twitter and be as iconic as ariana's ponytail.
Hahahaha I love his bun
hahaha his bun is perfect 😂
Yess!!
Lollll this comment tho
yesss, his bun is great
I'm addicted to these haha
Same
Me too
You made a really good point......supply and demand. I moved to a small town in Arizona 8 years ago and had little options in the way of organic produce, vegan cheese, vegan milk, vegan meats....etc. I had to drive once a month into another state 5 hours round trip to get these products.

I'm 17 years old and recently went vegan thanks to videos and channels that spread the word like this one. Thank you!
That's amazing, well done for going vegan! I'm so pleased that you have found my channel helpful ❤️
Congratulations! Xx
I wonder if this person is still vegan? If so what kind of shape is she in?
@@alexacloud1245 I am very sure this person is in great shape. I have been vegan for 10 years and its going great.
🍔🍔🌭🌭🧀🧀
Brilliant. I'd love to remain as calm as you. You speak so clearly and never seem to get annoyed. Your technique is admirable.
We as vegans have still got such a long way to go. The world around us is so ignorant.
right
Actually if we continue just for the next decades, the planet is going to be so destroyed, that there may not be a way for us to be gone... The change must happen NOW. But it doesn't :(
love the name
ahmen lol
This is why these street interviews are important - not only do they help people realise their own hypocrisy in a Socratic manner, but they help people dispel their own judgements that perhaps vegans are rude or confrontational
I am obsessed with these interviews!
Do are definitely non confrontational. You're amazing Ed. You're ding a great job. 🐝🐮🐔🐟🐷
+Vegan Butterfly Thank you so much :)
Those interviews are so additive !!!
I cant stop watching, I only sleep a few hours, Im late at work, I quit all of my actuvities, wahou !!!!
You turned the dog guy vegan !! 100% sure!!!
Even though I'm already vegan, I wish I could be interviewed by Ed. He's the coolest person ever!
it's interesting that people so often say that they would do it, but only if other people do it first or are doing it too... like they want society to change without having to change themselves (until it's more comfortable/required to)

More cruel I meant.. than eating pigs/cows.
I agree. I can see that blond guy becoming vegan in the future.
I remember that the first time I thought about animal rights properly was when I travelled to Italy and people asked me if I ate frog legs/horse/snails and when I said yes to all of them (French culture), they made a disgusted face and seemed really weirded out... I felt the same way watching that conversation :)
Great stuff Ed. Immediately after you told them how appreciative you were of their openness and politeness, it would be hilarious if you just pushed them in the pool and ran away laughing like a psychopath. lol
The Adventures of Jon and Bean it would've been funny af but counterproductive lol
Ughh I'm rolling my eyes back to those guy's defence excuses
You are so patient, intelligent and understanding! 👍
I'm late for work.. But let me watch this first lol.
hammypie lol!😎
I'm late for class
You're such an amazing speaker! I'm still so new and get so outraged, I don't know how you manage to stay so calm, collected and non-confrontational but keep it up! You're doing inspiring work.
"that's the least hypocritical thing you have said" hehehehe
The guy in the white is why we need more education! It's not his fault, as it sounds right, but in reality most everything he said was completely incorrect.
Unfortunately most of the population thinks this way because we have been conditioned (brainwashed) from birth to think that way! Ed, you NEVER fail to impress! Excellent work. Thank you so very much for the great work you do.
I think I have more respect for meat-eaters who WOULD eat dog than for those who wouldn't... At least they don't have ridiculous hypocritical double-standards.
I feel so depressed when people say that hedonistic traits is what makes humans human.
Earthling Ed, you have played an important role in helping me go vegan. Thank you for that. I just want to ask you a few things, though.
1. How do you approach people for these types of interviews? Do you flat out say, "I'm going to ask you questions about Veganism"? Because one day I would like to do these myself.

I am so impressed with how non confrontational you are when you question the people Ed! I'm watching and wanting to throttle some of them! But you manage to pose those questions in such a great way that they open up and talk! Way cool!
Man, I love what you're doing. We need more people like you spreading some knowledge to the youth.
I admire how freely you're able to talk about this subject in a non confrontational way. I often want to discuss this with people, but I'm always afraid that they'll get mad.
love these videos keep chuggin! I believe you are making a huge difference in the world !
you're brillant. I wish I could speak to family members like you do to strangers about veganism
I love that guys honesty, even if it's hypocritical and makes me shudder lol, most ppl try to sugarcoat bs to feed us when we ask these questions.. it was nice to hear someone being completely honest for a change *in my experiences anyway*
"there basically wouldn't existe animals without humans taking care of them"
Ed: "oh, really?"
no farm animal can care for itself. yes, they would all go extinct in couple generations.
if there is no farmer to feed and care for them.
and thats what vegans want.
to make all farm animals go extinct rather than exploit them
Damn. You just keep getting better and better. Your approach is the best way to promote veganism! I'm so inspired !! I just made my own first interview and posted it on my channel.
Really smart new angles!!!
That second couple were so passive aggressive. Hostile vibes. Well done for keeping your composure they are made of stone.
Ed is one of the best debaters of this day and age.
I love how the guy in the red sweater has listened the whole time and not said much and then in the end it showed how much he had gotten from the conversation(maybe even more than the guy in blue). That guy has his own UA-cam channel, VeganSpeak. He does street interviews and vlogs similar to Ed. 😊
oh so he was already vegan then? :p
+Karlijn VdB (keentobegreen) Yeah, he's been on UA-cam for awhile now promoting the vegan message. I think he was with Ed doing the interview, but it definitely looks like he's there for the guy in the blue sweater.
I love how you explain/talk to people in such a calming yet effective and educational way
Wonderful Ed, just can't watch enough!!! Seriously good. I really liked the couple with the Scottish girl and these two lads. The other couple not so much because they had the info but their apathy was very present in their responses. Great job Ed!! Thank you!
Ed, great interviews!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
7:04 that guy is refreshingly honest
THIS is amazing. Thankyou Ed
I like that you has Cesar there to vibe off of. I think that's really helpful because when one person is struggling there's someone else to back them up.
I love how you are so calm and understanding. I need to learn to be more like this and understand I was once like them 💔.
The guy in the white top just seems like such a selfish person :(

You just keep getting better and better Ed. we need to do some of these again together soon. I will have lots of time to do so soon....London, I'm coming for ya
i live in london and would love the opp to tag along if that's possible and maybe get involved
Ed you're brilliant! I really admire and am so impressed by how you remain so calm and have an answer for everything. Love your videos!
love this. great questions ed, you constructed the coversations in a way that got people thinking. nice one!
I love these videos, keep doing you boo 🙌🏼
as a vegan I wish I had more hope about the future but I think it will take something monumental for people to stop eating meat. Just can't see it
Stay hopefull people are influenced by other so easily you giving the example may leave an impact

Incremental rather than monumental.
Ed is so likable ,so polite. and heart of Gold.
and intelligent
I love street interviews so much! Keep it up you're making such a big change doing them!
Your message and how you communicate it is so kind and comprehensive. You are also such a healthy and fit example of a vegan diet! I'm so happy you're in this world and spreading this message! Keep it up Ed!
I love how the guy from Vegan Speak is just chilling there.

'Synthetic protein' 😂😂😂
I love how this page is soooo full of positivity ❤😭💕
love seeing your videos pop up in my subscription box! better go grab a cup of tea and Click! chill out and enjoy :)
Love how you said the right things at the right time. I believe the open minded girl will go Vegan first of these people :)
Ed's respectful Socratic approach is why he's so effective.
Did the dog guy go vegan? I liked his honesty and openness
I can't believe she said killing is not cruel.
Love when these oldies pop up in my feed man i miss outreach 🌱
Quorn has Egg in !
Love these videos so much, feel like I'm learning a lot from you about how to talk to people about veganism Ed, keep it up!
I've been looking forward for the second part of this 😝🤘🏻
He great at bringing people around to look at their process without judgement
Great video as always Ed.
That guy in the blue sweater seems so intriguing! Mmm
I am not vegan and this guy fascinates me, especially since my educational background emphasized and focused on these topics.
The guy in the white shirt next to the girl in the red dress makes the most reasonable arguments. He doesn’t come from a place of arrogance or gluttony but science and practicality.
Earthling Ed, you just get better and better. x
Thank you Ed🙏🏾
Isn't this place at Trafalgar Square?

30 years with no meat and fish et voila', I am still alive.
Ed you're such a champion 🌟
WOW Amazing ! You are a true diplomat, the way you communicate with people is phenomenal ! Made me wanna walk around my city and do the same with selfish meat-eaters ! So inspirational, thank you for it.
Nothing is more annoying than hearing a meat eater say we are omnivores so confidently like its a true fact when its really completely untrue.
Why do you consider human non omnivores?
Hi Ed.
I absolutely love your channel, your activism, your courage, intelligence and honesty ect and am a huge fan :)
I have watched all your on the street interview videos and i have to say you was not on your usual game here :(
Something seemed off and your confidence was not 100% there like it is usually.
Learning from you every day Ed. ROCK STAR!!!!
...but the lions tho
you know in Canada they took smoking areas out of everything even bars. people didn't think we could survive this way but it's weird now when you see people smoke indoors it's taboo now . hopefully veganism goes this way at least in civilized societies we can make vegan ism the norm and meat eaters the 5 % of society.
Excellent. Great job Ed. I don't know if you saw my comment on your previous video, I'll insert it here: Hey Ed, I saw you protest by Burger King yesterday and was wondering if I could know when you do these demonstrations and all the information. (I don't have facebook or anything though...)
Hey, that's so cool that you want to get involved :) If you drop me an email I'll send you over all the information!
your amazing u just keep getting better with how ur approaching people about veganisum yes yes yesss !!! 😀😀😀
The girl in red is like "wow, my boyfriend is really not that smart". Lol 😂
He is a gifted interviewer
Ed needs way more lagoons.
Beautiful work Ed! Keep your posture good, stand straight, spine aligned. Yoga baby!
Ed - Suns out, guns out
This was amusing, nice job talking to people!!
your videos are so so inspiring! I feel that after watching these I am able to be a lot more calm when conversing with people about veganism and I feel a lot more hopeful. thanks you for your videos, you're amazing!
+Rebecca Norris Thank you so much Rebecca :) that means a lot to me 💚
I watch 10 of these videos a day.
i cant stop watching your videos
18:20 - its a bit of a leading question.. They are all leading questions, taking you down the garden path to his conclusions, that is Socratic debate in a nutshell. Morality is a social construct, there are, imho at least, no absolute rights and wrongs, a single exception invalidates the rule. If I can envisage a situation where I would have to eat an animal then I have to come to the conclusion that eating animals is ok. I'm enjoying these videos because there is at least some measure of rational debate going on but I'm a long way from changing my mind or my diet
Everybody loves Ed!
