That’s called ethnic cleansing. Only two religions have done this all over the world throughout history. They butcher d native religion/cultures/knowledge/history so that people r rootless. And then they can b easily brainwashed into believing that they’re weak and the new religion can provide them with d right path to heaven. And people almost always fall for it. That’s how these two religions spread. With extreme fascism and violence.

Lohri, Pongal, Makara sankarandhi r all celebrates in India to well the Sun after the winter season. It's a season for new earth and ppl ,animals ,plants depends on it. In South of India we too prepare " Sweet rice" Gud rice - Sakkarai Pongal. Also share Tilgud, Sugarcane with friends and animals. The celebration goes on for 4 days ,last day we honour all the Farm Animals and villages conduct spl competitions. Overall like u said, Abid Bhai it's a celebration of the season and thanks giving. It's a cultural festival . Like Chinese culture Indian Hindu culture too is very ancient and has alot of festivals related to Seasons, Celestial occurance and religiously important days. Happy Lohri to you too.

Lohri is a popular winter Punjabi folk festival celebrated primarily in Northern India. The significance and legends about the Lohri festival are many and these link the festival to the Punjab region. It is believed by many that the festival marks the passing of the winter solstice. Lohri marks the end of winter, and is a traditional welcome of longer days and the sun's journey to the northern hemisphere by people in the northern region of the Indian subcontinent. It is observed the night before Maghi, and according to the solar part of the lunisolar Punjabi calendar and typically falls about the same date every year (13 January).

Lohri doesn't mark end of winter !! Basant (Spring) marks end of winter which comes later. Lohri marks end of 'Poh' the coldest month of Punjab and 'Maagh' month starts on next day of Lohri. Also Lohri is associated with legend/folklore of Dulla Bhatti, dont forget to mention that.

It’s truly heartwarming to see a courageous and principled Punjabi like you stand up for our language, culture, and people’s rights. Your dedication and love for Punjab will be remembered in golden words. While many on social media today profit from spreading vulgarity and indecency, you are working for a higher cause, fighting for justice and morality. These individuals are damaging our community for selfish gain, but your efforts will surely bear fruit, and we must stand firm against such negativity. Keep up the great work! ❤❤❤

The Indian government did not divide Punjab but acceded to the demand of division so that punjab can be a sikh majority state with a sikh chief minister. It was the first step towards the khalistani agenda for a separate country. The Pakistani punjabi mindset has done a great job building Pakistan.. Now that they have overused their Islamic identity for their destruction, they may want to leech on to punjabi identity with fellow supremacists on the other side. You will be glad to know that both khalistani and islamic individuals worked together to hack a "non-believer" hindu to prove their terror credentials recently..

Lohri is a farmer's festival, an agricultural festival. It is the celebration of the arrival of longer days after the winter solstice. According to folklore, in ancient times Lohri was celebrated at the END of the traditional month (in the Punjabi calendar) when winter solstice occurs. That is why Solstice is in December and Lohri falls in January.
Lohri does not celebrate the shortest day of the year. It celebrates the days getting longer as the sun proceeds on its northward journey.

Lohri ? Sundri mundri? Aadr aaye diladar jaye ?
Lohri heralds the beginning of the end of the dark, bleak, dreary winters and the beginning of warm days. Anthropologically it is related to the agricultural calendar. It heralds the harvesting of the Rabi crops. A bonfire is lit and oblations are offered to the sacred fire. ’Aadr aaye diladar jaye’ (may honour come and poverty vanish) in the form of sesame, peanuts, popcorn, puffed rice and jaggery.
Cosmologically the fire has a close cultural connection with the institutions of family and kinship, the rituals, customs, ceremonies of birth, marriage and death which invoke Agni. The festival of Lohri signifies abundance, bounty and the community spirit. The fire is considered to be animate, alive and pure. The festival of Lohri invokes many legends, the most popular linked to Punjab’s Robinhood Dulla Bhatti, an outlaw during Akbar’s reign, who saved the honour of two Hindu brahmin girls and got them married on Lohri. The sight of children going around houses singing Sundri mundri ho, tera kaun vichara ho, Dulla Bhatti wala ho asking for Lohri is an integral part of Punjabi folklore.
