    Hi Gary, I'm in NC. Love your videos. This is my first year doing trellises. My garden is overwhelming me. I am using the 8 ft ladder mesh for my 3 cucumber plants, however I made a mistake and planted cantaloupe, watermelon and butternut squash on mesh ladder instead of cow panels. I need to know if I should cut off new growth as my trellises are not holding up good under the weight of the 3 watermelon. Will try to send pictures tomorrow. Love love your videos. I will send you an email and I just joined your fb group. Thank you

      A lot of times they have rooted out. Cucumbers you might be able to gently lift. Any thing really works for a trellis.

    Question: I am growing Eden Gem and Edsito melons up a double cattle panel arch. However, I do have a lot of the vines wandering on the ground as well. Is that ok? I do have space and it doesn't bother me to have a bit of a wild look.... but I also don't want to do anything to negatively impact production. Also, should I thin leaves on those melon arches?

    • @THERUSTEDGARDEN
      @THERUSTEDGARDEN  2 роки тому

      I like the wild look and I would leave some on the ground. You can bury some of them and they will root often depending on the variety.It can help the plant. Ill be thinning leaves that are in the inner canopy and dont get a lot of light because of other leaves.

    • @THERUSTEDGARDEN
