Cartmans biggest issue is that his goals are shortsighted and often immature, but the way he achieves them, shows the highly intelligent, manipulative sociopath that he is. There is no way he would ever become homeless, hes way too resourceful. Nice reaction Dash :)
I know, they put him in the most impossible situations, and somehow he always overcomes. Scott Tenorman must Die was one. But he also gets beat. Like when Wendy beat the snot out of him for making fun of breast cancer.
I agree about his intelligence and resourcefulness, but I think the incredible motivation behind a lot of things he does is out of sheer spite against Stan and Kyle. That's a major dynamic of their relationship. Once he lost that motivation, and his mother presumably passed, there was very little to hold him together.
@@hush-615 Really, it's just Kyle that Cartman likes to spite. He hardly ever does anything to Stan or Kenny directly, except the Console Wars and a few other times. But even in the Console Wars and most of the other times Stan has been involved, Kyle was too. Stan is usually just collateral damage when he's impacted by something Cartman did to spite Kyle.

Dude, I remember I had just got home from deployment when this episode aired, just a couple of weeks before. I was actually deployed to Somalia doing counter piracy, so this episode holds a special place in my heart.
"That's the first time I've seen Clyde cry" and the funniest part is that is a big part of Clyde's character in a lot of episodes including the game lmao
This is a great episode. I recommend the episodes "kenny dies, ladder to heaven, and the biggest douche in the universe" in that order specifically, they're great episodes and it'll give important context to certain scenes in episodes you've reacted to already
I don't say this lightly, dash is 100% the best reactor South park. I look at all reactions and I have watched every single one of dashes and I even rewatch them sometimes because he doesn't post as much as others but when he does I get so excited.
I always find it hilarious when Cartman is right about something. Especially when it’s something ridiculous. Like that time he robbed Kyle for his gold, not only getting it right that he had a bag of gold around his neck but also that he had a fake bag to protect the real bag! Speaking of Kyle, Cartman keeps being right about him too! Kyle was very proud about setting up Cartman and a bunch of other kids to die, he encouraged Cartman to get hurt jumping off the roof, Kyle immediately dropped his morals and helped with the cr@k baby fights once he found out how much money they made, etc.! What’s even funnier is that the "After Covid" special made Cartman a happy, wholesome, jewish family man after growing up without his friend's influence.
The selfish part of me is going to say I miss when Dash put out like 3 reactions a week! I understand Dash has a life but we really got spoiled early on! Lol Fantastic reaction as always!
I love that line bro “alright ye booty lovers” 😂 it’s such a simple dumb childish pirate joke but it’s funnier to me then probably any other pirate “booty” pun which is normally an eye roller
9:20 When one of the French crew members asked, "Qu'est-ce que vous faites?", the subtitles translated it as "What is this?", which isn't the exact translation. I'm glad you noticed .
Damn, browsing through the comments for recommendations, I am constantly reminded how many amazing episodes Dash still hasn't watched. I truly envy that, having seen every episode many times by now.
0:09 had to pause and look for my name cause I know I’ve suggested it before lol. Next have to watch the episode The Big Fix (Season 25, Ep 2). It retcons 25 seasons of South Park.
The speech at the end is so interesting with Cartmans help they would have been millionaires. He was changing their lives for the better well until they got shot. Cartman could have had his own pirate tv show. Never know how it could have turned out. Cartman is on point with his business sense and opportunity awareness.
Eric Cartman said jews can't be pirates but here's a fun fact, there was actually a famous Jewish pirate during the pirate era of the Caribbean called Moses Cohen Henriques.
The part with the pirate questioning why Ike and Butters wanted to be pirates reminds me of this youtube video where someone actually interviewed a pirate at their base, with much of the same stuff being said. Iirc a big issue in their community was an oil rig that not only didnt employ members from local communities but also polluted water nearby, damaging the fish market more than it already was since fishing was one of the few jobs available and over time the fish population diminished, making fishing less and less profitable and causing more and more people to turn to piracy.
You add such an awesome layer of insight to your reactions that I haven’t seen from other people. If there are other big shows you haven’t seen like Breaking Bad or The Office (as random examples) they’d make great reactions!
Have since found out you've reacted to some of those mentioned, so you could replace them with Lice Capades, The Snuke, Pandemic 1&2 and The Ungroundable (another good Butters episode!)

To me, Cartman's pirate song sounds more similar to "The Merry Old Land of Oz": "With a 'Ha ha ha' and a 'Ho ho ho' and a couple of 'Tra la la's', that's how we do our day away in the merry old land of Oz."

You’re legit THE best South Park reactor on UA-cam. Your knowledge on inside/deep cut jokes really separates you from the rest. Not the first time you’ve heard this, and won’t be the last. And loads of people notice! Keep it up Dash!
Thank goodness! I was just thinking of you 20 min ago and was wishing you had uploaded something because I needed something funny to help pass the time. And I had to settle for someone else’s South Park reaction video and he talked through almost the whole thing! And the audio wasn’t as good on the SP episode. It was set with a low volume so you could hear the guy talk over the show.
I think this one was around the time they started using Trey's daughter for Ike's voice, but I could be wrong. I never quite figured out why Cartman said no Jews but was ok with Ike. Always loved that slap Ike gave Clyde though :-) And I never clocked that he was dressed like captain Jack Sparrow! And yes, of course, in classic South Park style, they tried to show the balance of the reality to Cartman's fantasy... before going completely non-PC with "Don't hit the white ones"... reminded me of operation "Human Shield" from the South Park movie Bigger, Longer and Uncut :-) Good catch on the 3 Amigos reference, hadn't thought of that before! Just listened to Martin Short and Steve Martin on the Conan O'Brien podcast the other day too. Great video as always Dash. 😊
It’s such a nitpick but I feel like Kyle isn’t dumb enough to go “no you should totally do that” and think cartman will buy it 😂 I think I could’ve lived with that if he didn’t say “I’ll even help pay for your plane ticket” like cmon Kyle lmao he’s known him too well for too long to think Cartman is just gonna go “wow cool thanks” and that’s the end of it 💀 Wow I’ve seen this episode a million times but never that deleted scene, neat stuff. Honestly since you asked which one I liked better, I MUCH preferred that one. I guess maybe it wasn’t gonna REPLACE the scene it was an extra scene after it since cartman was suspicious and still needed convincing, but imo they should’ve either cut the lunch scene down and kept that one in the library, or just taken the dialogue from the deleted scene and used it at the lunch table. Either way I feel like that slick reverse psychology fits his character more then the scene they actually used, but I assume they used the first one bc it has cartman initially telling them the plan, so they couldn’t cut out that part and they’d have to set up them going to the library and shit, I assume it was just cut for time
I just want to say you are my favorite reaction channel for south park episode. I've seen all these episodes at least 10 times over yet when i watch your reactions i end up learning something new.

The amount of work that you go through to show all the references and sources elevate the show so much. Some of us are big fans and we didn't know some of this. Clyde randomly bursting into tears is a classic favourite of mine.
Yeah. In early seasons this actually happened pretty frequently.
If Clyde would keep bursting into tears, that would make me so happy.
The “Kevin Goddammit” bit is one of my favourite running jokes in the show.
