How to change the engine oil (motor oil) on a Kymco People GT 300i scooter

This video shows you how to change the engine (motor) oil and oil filter on a Kymco People 300 cc scooter. This video also applies to the Kymco People GT 200i scooter. And this is the same procedure for a Kymco Downtown 300 or 200 cc.

Thanks for this Nice video. As you say, if « O »rings and seal- washer are in good conditions, fix again. We need 1.3 liter of 5W50 new oil but you can use 10W40 , 5W30 seems appropriate for cold country (the last number 30 is the viscosity at hight luboil temperature). Concerning screenfilter’screw , use 17socket and a longuer handelebar . Start the engine at idle Rpm during 2 to 3 mn before increase the Rev . Glad if help.

also, kymco has magnets in drain plugs, to better collect small pieces of metal (metallic dust) so dont forget to wipe it clean... also when checking the dipstick level DO NOT SCREW IT IN, cause it will show more oil than it should, dipstick is just pushed inside without screwing it in (as it says in the manuals) i have 2 kymco's 300 and 270cc

why 5w30?? my people GTI 300 manual suggest 5W40

does someone knows how much oil exactly is between min and max on the dipstick? it's around one liter, meaning 2dcl per lil'square (it has 5 squares on the dipstick between min and max so you can more precisely know how much to top it)

for this and newer gti it is hiflo 5012 i am not sure for older one but open it and see and compare... you have many parts sellers on the net where you just need to put in your bike model but always double check cause they are not always accurate
