You know what would've solved his problems with the "unbeatable" Skeledirge? Without even changing anything within his team or movesets, he could've: used Lokix's Throat Chop to prevent Skeledirge's sound-based attacks (Snarl and Torch Song) from being used, used Pupitar's Earthquake instead of risking the less accurate Stone Edge, and/or Terastalized Gardevoir into a pure Psychic type and used Psychic. If all of that wasn't enough to defeat it somehow, then he could've just Sucker Punch'd it to death since the AIs don't even heal their Pokemon at all in Scarlet/Violet unlike the Gen 1-8 titles. This is purely using what he was using, which means a Water-type isn't required to beat Skeledirge. Of course, this is also DSP we're talking about. If it was a possible scenario, he'd lose to a Magikarp somehow. And I'm sure if he chose Fuecoco as his starter instead, he'd complain how Meowscarada's Flower Trick is broken due to how it never misses AND it lands a critical hit every single time.

The thing is, Skeledirge isn't fast. It's base speed is 66. That's slow. 4 out of 6 of his team should out speed it but the way he plays makes it so he's always switching out team members so no one has any EV training. They're all basically just caught.

Pokemon is the perfect IQ test for gamers. If you're struggling on a fight (outside of a few exceptions) you probably lack reading comprehension or decision making
He's been playing Pokemon and doesn't know that fairy attacks are strong against dragon. He would have been able to beat 2 Pokemon with the first one. But, he's a real gamer yea right Mr tips.
There is so much to critique about this. The team he's using, the moves he chooses, an the way he goes about battling. He thinks there's only one typing to defeat Skeledirge but in reality a Fire/Ghost-type is weak to Ground, Rock, Dark, Ghost & Water. Torch Song is indeed quite powerful to have especially with the Rival using it. Allow them to set up a few turns an it can essentially wipe out almost any Pokemon you might have, even some that have resistance or quad-resistance. Yet, the thing that really gets me watching this. Is the fact he gets so upset that Skeledirge outspeeds his whole team, outside of maybe Lokix. Skeledirge isn't even that fast with a base speed of 66. He's got so many options of Pokemon that can either outspeed her Skeledirge or simply have super-effective moves to knock it out before she's able to set up
The saddest part is the fact that he kept going on about how skeledirge out speeds everything… when lokix has a higher base speed stat. So on the last turn if he had just used throat chop he probably would have just won. Nemona didn’t beat him. His childish stubbornness did.
30 hours in and doesn't understand terastallizing gives mono typing then uses it on a bug type showing he has no idea how a game franchise he's been playing for over a decade works
Coming back to this and commenting again and piling on the list of fuck ups he made; Uses Houndstone as a lead. Gosh, his Gym Leader strategy of Last Respects sure would’ve come in handy here….. Uses Stone Edge, a move infamous for its heightened chance to miss and complains that the move missed. Still doesn’t get that Terrastilization makes the Mon a certain type after six badges. Uses Beat Up, a move that’s notoriously weak and generally only useful in competitive Doubles and proceeds to complain the move does no damage. Constantly swaps out Pokémon on his team with zero optimization involved because of his stupid naming gimmick and then complains when he loses certain fights like this and Arven. Switches in Pokémon weak to the opposing Mon like he did with Maushold versus Pawmot. I’m honestly shocked that Pawmot didn’t go for a Fighting move. Somehow loses to a slow Pokémon mindlessly spamming one move and calls it cheating.

I feel horrible for him.. I swept this fight using my Vaporeon. Acid Armor three times plus Leftovers and Aqua Ring to just take negative damage, and that's one way to win. Dude had hella type advantages and COULD have Terastalized and just won it, but he chose to go clown mode with his es-pan-yol "voice acting" instead. Idiot

Pokemon is the perfect IQ test for gamers. If you're struggling on a fight (outside of a few exceptions) you probably lack reading comprehension or decision making

There is so much to critique about this. The team he's using, the moves he chooses, an the way he goes about battling. He thinks there's only one typing to defeat Skeledirge but in reality a Fire/Ghost-type is weak to Ground, Rock, Dark, Ghost & Water. Torch Song is indeed quite powerful to have especially with the Rival using it. Allow them to set up a few turns an it can essentially wipe out almost any Pokemon you might have, even some that have resistance or quad-resistance.
Yet, the thing that really gets me watching this. Is the fact he gets so upset that Skeledirge outspeeds his whole team, outside of maybe Lokix. Skeledirge isn't even that fast with a base speed of 66. He's got so many options of Pokemon that can either outspeed her Skeledirge or simply have super-effective moves to knock it out before she's able to set up

The saddest part is the fact that he kept going on about how skeledirge out speeds everything… when lokix has a higher base speed stat. So on the last turn if he had just used throat chop he probably would have just won. Nemona didn’t beat him. His childish stubbornness did.

Skeledirge isn't a fast pokemon at all so that shows you how fucked Phil's party is
30 hours in and doesn't understand terastallizing gives mono typing then uses it on a bug type showing he has no idea how a game franchise he's been playing for over a decade works
Coming back to this and commenting again and piling on the list of fuck ups he made;
Uses Houndstone as a lead. Gosh, his Gym Leader strategy of Last Respects sure would’ve come in handy here…..
Uses Stone Edge, a move infamous for its heightened chance to miss and complains that the move missed.
Still doesn’t get that Terrastilization makes the Mon a certain type after six badges.
Uses Beat Up, a move that’s notoriously weak and generally only useful in competitive Doubles and proceeds to complain the move does no damage.
Constantly swaps out Pokémon on his team with zero optimization involved because of his stupid naming gimmick and then complains when he loses certain fights like this and Arven.
Switches in Pokémon weak to the opposing Mon like he did with Maushold versus Pawmot. I’m honestly shocked that Pawmot didn’t go for a Fighting move.
Somehow loses to a slow Pokémon mindlessly spamming one move and calls it cheating.
Pokemon perfectly shows Phils inability to learn or adapt
He had a rock pokemon in 'Godzilla" and would have won if he just Earthquaked it but he wanted to get greedy with the less accurate move.
His “voice acting” is beyond awful
I wonder if Phil realizes there are faster Pokémon than Skeledirge.
