pos weekender: Hani w/ Saar

Folder FM is a mobile digital radio show, regularly streaming live from the Benelux Bar in Amsterdam. We aim to blur the lines between radio and the physical listening experience, facilitating a space where artists can explore freely within the realms of sound, talk, and spoken word-without the obligation to please a crowd. During the pos weekender, a collective get-together amidst the chaos, we were lent the pos studio in which we tried to facilitate a warm environment designed for community engagement. Like-minded individuals came together to connect in an intimate setting, allowing audiences to enjoy radio shows daily between noon and 8 PM. In collaboration with pos, we ventured into the De Centrale Markthal, a space that invited exploration and celebration. It became an auditive journey crafted by various inspiring collectives from Amsterdam and beyond.

Sarah Saleh is a Designer, Artist and DJ from Lebanon currently based in Amsterdam. Drawing from her experiences of living in different places and navigating in-between spaces, Sarah focuses on scattered identities in her practice. Music becomes a way for her to create a sense of home, virtually moving from one place to another.
She performs together with Claartje Barkhof as a DJ duo ‘Saar and Claar’ as residents at Radio Tempo Não Pára where they host the “Chill Out Room”.
They blend sounds from genres like New Wave, IDM and Psychedelics sounds - walking the tightrope between listening music and dancing music. This philosophy was also present in the ‘chill out’ rooms in 90s clubs which have since disappeared. They revive and expand this chill-out culture, shaped by the likes of Mixmaster Morris and the KLF, with their bi-monthly show called ‘Chill-out Room’. They recently started a new project “Bring Back the Chill Out Room” - a series of events where they will bring their philosophy in clubs and festivals.
