I don't think it's slept on. Many fans say it's his best album post-hiatus.
Considering the success so far with it I would say most people are pretty awake on it. Almost 300 000 sold the first week, debuted as the number 1 selling album on the Billboard 200 which made him the first artist with 10 consecutive albums debut on number 1 in the US and also one of only six artists to have released at least 10 US number-one albums. First album in 2020 to have hit 500 000 certified units sold in USA (Gold) and so on.

This song is an example of just how plugged into current trends and shit Em really is, and how much he knows about memes and shit like that. That euthanasia/ youth in Asia line I saw on a meme on reddit a minute ago. Kid was writing a paper about youth in Asia when it was supposed to be euthanasia. I would love to be able to see just a page of one of his notebooks.. I can imagine him seeing something online and laughing at it and getting an idea from it. He has such a beautifully messed up mind. I think with all the self loathing and just being way overly critical to the point of it not being healthy we would probably get along good. Plus we're both in recovery and I'm a hermit lol. Man, I really sound like a catch haha. Luckily I married my highschool sweetheart and we've been together 18 years this year. And it'd be platonic because no body is worth our little slice of happiness.

Did you know that Em's lyrics "I hate my stepdad, so tonight I'm sayin bye bye stepdad" were inspired by a Pescado Rabioso song? Yes, it's true! In the original song, the lyrics are "Love me, peteribí, love always," which roughly translates to "Love me, weirdo, love always". I'm not saying that Em's stepdad was an oddball, but it's certainly possible. Maybe he had a thing for exotic birds or collected garden gnomes. Let's hope Em's new stepdad is a bit more normal.

As a person who did have a truly evil stepmother I believe this is first hand from his childhood. He could never paint those pictures so accurately. This album made me curious about the depth of the lyrics of Em and other artists, and your videos are the best I've found in terms of the information and detail about the complexity of writing and performance. One thing that came to my mind watching a breakdown of Killshot was the line - 'Til I'm getting old-aged still can fill a whole page with a 10 year old's rage - ... This song is that line coming to life. Not sure if he did that on purpose, took that for inspiration, or if he even was conscious about the thing, but I'm sure is just a natural consequence of Em's trueness
