I think ( especially in season 1) Elijah did not want to let hayley in because everytime he falls in love with a girl Klaus ruins it , and Hayley may be the mother of his child but who knows what could happen when Klaus get REALLY REALLY MAD
I never thought Hayley and Elijah would be a couple alough I really shipped them when Elijah was so protective, but I thought it would be klaus and Hayley becuase of their child, I'm so glad tho that halijah happened it's the *best* ship!!
