Perfect. Absolutely Perfect. Flawless. You made the tin whistle sound like Uilleann pipes and the Uilleann pipes sound like a tin whistle.

Thanks for this - it is a lovely air which is also a song. The band Na Connerys was formed by Paddy Glackin (of the Bothy band) an his brother Kevin. They have another excellent record which is just called 'Celtic Sessions'. These are the players credited on that one: Paddy Glackin (fiddle), Kevin Glackin (fiddle), Seán Óg Potts (pipes, whistle), John Regan (accordion), John Wynne (flute), Tom McDonagh (bouzouki), Mark Kelly (guitar).

Nice to see you doing a tutorial on a slow air Sean. What I find with playing slow airs that's different from say reels or jigs etc is that unless it's a tune you REALLY love ( and love to play ) then it'll come out sounding rather "flat" and emotionless. And it's "passion and emotion" that's needed more than anything else in playing a good air. Mary Bergin once said that slow airs are the hardest tunes to play well and I tend to agree with this. With even a rudimentary grasp of rhythm and technicality one can hammer out a basic jig or reel that'll sound 'reasonably' well played to most ears but this is not the case with slow airs. Feeling plays centre stage. Anyway, that's my tuppence worth :) P.S. Some ideas for future slow air tutorials ; The lovely Scottish tune "Marion MacLean of Eoligarry" or the more "rambling/loose" Irish tune "Sliabh Geal gCua na Féile" of which the exquisitely sung version by Mary Greene ( ua-cam.com/video/pJEXRego7tw/v-deo.html ) is by far my favourite. P.P.S. Keeps these tutorials of yours coming matey. Big thumbs up!

Sean, what I really like about your channel is how you mix it up to hit different aspects. You have a treasure trove of tunes, you do some great tutorials on different ornaments, and other vids on things like how to join a session, plus whistle reviews. One thing I would like to hear is your thoughts on putting tunes together for a session, or just dubbing around. Thanks!
