“AND THREE LUNGS!!!….. but one of those has also collapsed.”
Salamanders are too wholesome for 40k.
And think if it had been one of the Wolves he would most likely started telling stories about himself
@@snip105 An Ultramarine would have had them all sign an NDA before he started telling them about himself because much of the space marines creation is a secret
Lol i love the warring factions of his human desire to comfort and aid, and the stoic honesty of his code.
"Yes, small one. I am mighty. But im kind of running on fumes."
@@snip105 Love me some Space Wolves. One of the three nicest factions to regular ol 'umies.
One heart and two lungs remaining. Almost as if he's human again..
1 functioning heart and 2 functioning lungs. That's as human as he'll ever get
that's a salamander
besides the Lamenters
that's as human any Space Marine will ever get
The symbolism behind this video is beyond any mainstream video you will ever see. 40k never disappoints.
He's more human than most humans
This is why I love the salamanders
I love the accurate portrayal of Salamanders here, as compassionate heroes of the average citizen. I really do hope other legions/chapters get some good lore portrayal too, and not just the blue smurf Ultramarines (although I can understand that they can be iconic).
Same here
When you realize he cares so much about the safety of the children and their well being that he won't even answer them on IF he could save them.
@@ralk7048 They also included the heat vision!
No no no "we" love salamander
When the Genetically enhanced killing machine is confronted with the innocents of humanity. It fucking breaks my heart.
Well met brother Sa' Kan..... may the Emperor give you more strength.
Definitely gonna make him as one of my outfits in Space Marine 2🔥🔥🔥

2:57 An Astartes gets down on his knees because he doesn't want to lie to children. Salamanders are true Angels. Even Sa'Kan as an Astartes realizes that things are not looking good for this world and their lives.
SPOILER
More importantly: He is not there to save them. That is not his duty. By rights he should kill them just as the Sister of Battle wants to and Imperial Guard do.
@@JarthenGreenmeadow He's a Salamander. Salamanders are sworn to protect the civilians of the Emperor, and will often take a bullet for them. They're supposed to be seen as the heros of the Adeptus Astartes.
@@JarthenGreenmeadowit appears your not up to chuff on salamander lore… this is why they’re the most badass chapter of them all
@@JarthenGreenmeadowhis duty is to the people of the imperium, to protect and shield them against all threats, it is the oath he swore upon his ascension to the sons of vulkan as did every salamander before and after and that: is a duty that supersedes all others.
They are the most human of his angels and are to my knowledge the only ones who still interact with their birth families
@@JarthenGreenmeadowsalamanders only has pure hatred against eldars but not to humans they would sacrifice themselves for them that's why salamanders pretty much have high mortality rate among the Astartes because they don't preserves themselves like the others
i love that sakan slightly corrects himself to answer the kids question with the "it hurts a little, yes." he really wants to answer the question to the kid specifically, even if said question was on the mind of all the survivors, most certainly at least... Surely to put them at ease either way of course. Still love the heftyness of a spacemarines movement in these clips too !
The kind eyes of a Salamander betray a warmth much gentler than that of their home world.
"I understand you have suffered greatly" Little things like that are what seperates the salamanders from other Astartes. Most other space marines couldn't even comprehend how horrifying the situation of ordinary people can be.
A super soldier, wears green armor, says little but has a lot of charisma, this man is the MasterChief of this universe and that's great!
You had your chance to be afraid before you joined my beloved Corps! But, to guide you back to the true path, I brought this motivational device! Our big green style cannot be defeated!

@@dolphinerofachero3159what about the space wolves?
Logan grimnar did come to blows with the inquisition over the treatment of survivors from the first war of Armageddon and it literally took a dreadnought to convince him to negotiate for peace
@@dionjaywoollaston1349Yes, but the survivors you speak of were warriors in the eyes of the Space Wolves.
These civilians are not, they won't be cruel to them but they won't really care about them.
well maybe a blood angel but that would come with a load of issues
mainly
HORRUUUSSS
The think I love is that sakan exposing that he can bleed, and can feel pain, totally 180s the probable ideologies of other legions. Showing you can bleed and feel pain shows weakness, but salamanders and sakan in particular, is able and willing to expose his humanity in trying times to children. Fantastic.
The moment when he caught himself and stopped talking like he is with a medical officer but with children made honestly chuckle. Salamamders are straight up THE legion. Of course they kill and they are a monsters by biological standards. Their skin and eyes are like one of demon... But they are compassionate and caring. These guys are putting thier own lives before one of civilians who didn't wanted to be in the war. What's not to like here?
@@sirith9157the fear is more to do with transhuman dread than their appearance, all astartes emit an aura that makes mortal human’s nervous, coupled with their height which makes people nervous in the real world and you can see why
Does anyone else watch this clip over and over again just to feel something?
I love how he disarm and remove his helmet as to appear as friendly as possible for someone of his size
I can't believe they thought to include the salamander's unique heat vision into this scene. Good attention to detail. Hats off.
Oh? I thought that was the helmet's HUD
That is not a feature of every Astartes
It doesnt get more badass then a Salamander. A walking killing machine with a heart (or two).
Space marines have such a weird way of speaking, “I realize my countenance suggests a malign aspect.” He could have just said he knows he’s a giant hulking killing machine but he had to make it all fancy haha
High Gothic do be like that sometimes
He specifically meant the grey skin and red eyes unique to Salamanders, not generally that he is an astartes.
You can see the instant switch on Sa'Kan from benevolent & gentle protector to transhuman killing machine the moment he hears enemies approach. If that dosn't scream "Angel of Death" nothing does.
Those survivors are lucky he was a Salamander and not a Black Templar or Grey Knight. lol They’d’ve wasted those mortals instantly without any thought.
They would not, lol. At least not the templar.
@@vjun8492yeah, because they will force you to take a weapon and fight until your last breath

Priest did a good job coming out first. True servant of the Holy Emperor
Yeah the priest is was a good man in this mini series
It bring a tear of joy to my eye and warm my heart to a point that i even fell that i have one again(functional), i aways was a big fan of Salamanders for their singular "legit good guys trait, also flame weapons and melle weapons tradition and personalised since they make and/or modify/improve their gear since they are the only chapter that still make/fix their gear themselfs instead of relly on Mechanicus to pray all over gear that is problably way past the point of being even reliable, if someone is using a flame or plasma weapon stay clear because catastrofic malfuntions are bound to happen, unless its a Salamander made weapon because they come with 2 traits, they work as a well treated/cleaned/fixed/updated weapon and also the Salamander will not friendly fire you if you are civilian or ally. Ash skin, red eyes, self imolation fetish(i dont judge), they are freaking huge by Astartes standards (Vulkan was almost 1/3 bigger than the any other primarch), and the cherry on top is they actually care about protection and well being of others, tell me that is not unique and even contradictory aspects on a Chapter that would make some awesome stories.
The Salamanders, in the dark times of the 41st millennium, emulate the best of what it means to be human.
If most Astartes were like the Salamanders then I'd actually give a shit about Space Marines. Salamander principles should be the norm, not the exception.
I don't know:
Stopping to help civilians, even at the cost of the mission....
You have to remember, Astartes are a valuable resource in 40k,they shouldn't be used as bodyguards for civilians.
@@terminallove3531the astartes purpose is to ensure the survival of humanity. All chapters should aspire to be akin to the salamanders
@@thecarrierpigeon6657Humanity, plural.
I love Salamnder and I would love everyone be like them, but the other side is also correct.
Failing the mission also means potentially losing the planet in its entirety or give the enemies too much of an advantage that leads to losing the planet/war.
Saving a group of people in the moment can and would most likely result in losing much more in the form of statistics in the longer run.
You gotta understand at the end of the day these people are machines of war. They were given all these gifts from the emperor to do one thing. Kill in his name. But because they're humans obviously they have different motivations
@@thecarrierpigeon6657sometimes to ensure survival of humanity, you must prioritize the mission, not hiding civilians. This is why salamanders are the exception.

Lmfaooo come on man 😂
That was devious
Child 1: "Do you have a name?"
Salamander: "My name is Sa'Kan."
Child 2: "Are you here to save us?"
Salamander: "Sa'Kan deez nutz!"

3:17 and just like that, it is time to be the killing machine again.
The grim truth he knows is that they will be luck if any of them get out alive. But he cannot tell the mortal children such. Even though the adults all know full well.
When the kid said his name was isyander I thought the other would say koda and it would be a reference to isyander and koda
Salamanders are best boys.
If I was on a world infested with the enemies of mankind and the Salamanders showed up. I’d cry and praise the emperor, no angels of his compare to the big wholesome green boiz
Dave Bautista would be the perfectly guy to play Sa’Kan
I bet anyone in the Imperium would be happier than they've ever experienced, being saved by a Salamander.
It would certainly be cause to do a bit of celebratinh
Somehow kindness in the midst of brutality always makes me sentimental and a bit tearful.
Sometimes all it takes is a little hope.
He now has 2 lungs and a heart... Almost human
I like to imagine the dad wanted to make a "Sa'kan on these nuts" joke soooo bad, but held it in 😂
I cant wait to see the animated shows based on video games in December cause Warhammer is one of them
Salamanders the best for humanity
Sa'Kan deez nutz
Heresy!
Wow, Salamanders are cool.
Sa’kon knows the people are dead and that they won’t escape the Necrons no matter how far west they travel... Notice how he only asks the children their names. He is patient with them and we see him carefully kneeling down and committing both of their names to memory.
I love how he's saying that he has three lungs just to impress little kids.
Really need more slamanders in 40k
man, Salamanders cool af
It would be cool if Sa'kan is featured in a sequel to Space Marine 2. If a sequel features the Necrons, perhaps it can include the Ultramarines and Salamanders fighting together, with Titus and Sa'kan hunting for Szeras.

Can we talk about the civilian man in the background? All hell has broken loose, and he his afraid, but he puts the lives of a woman and two children- of which one, both, or neither may be his own- ahead of his own. He has a guardsmen's courage.

SAKAN DEEZ NUTS
Honestly, the Salamanders are the greatest of the Astartes. I believe if you're going to create transhuman super soldiers it's of the utmost importance that they maintain their humanity. They're supposed to be the best of us. It frankly made me sad seeing how little the ultramarine he ran into thought of baseline humans. I will agree that an Astartes' life is worth far far more than any standard human but I still believe they should do what they can to protect normal humans within reason.
Sa’kan these nuuuuts
I wish for the lamenters chapter finaly get to end there pennince i really hope to see the lamenters meet the salamanders legitimatey i believe they whould like doing joint operations and immagen what the moral whould be to civs and guardsmen if the 2 chapters did what they do best protect and purge zenos green and gold with the biggest hearts in the imperium
Little comments like "It hurtd a little, yes" Are so endearing coming from a walking genetically modified human tank
Lysander i wonder hmmm captain of the imperial fists
I keep watching all these scenes on repeat, as for some reason when I go to watch on warhammer plus it says ‘you are not entitled to watch this video’🤬

I believe fallout copied space marines design when making power armor just what I think I haven’t fact checked that

Quick question: What does he holster his gear on?
Space marine armor has mag locks, so everything is magnetized to their armor
@@darias627 I figured, thank you for clarifying.
What’s up! I know this might seem off topic, but here’s for anyone who feels they’ve lost hope and needs to hear this: whether you believe in Heaven or not, consider this, if there was a Heaven, are you sure you’d go there after death? If you’re not sure, here you go: God loves you, and he became a human as Jesus, died to take the penalty for anything wrong you’d ever do, and rose from the dead. Sin is disobedience to Jesus’ commandments for how to live, and sin separates us from him- if you want to be saved from hell and be with God forever after death, just believe in Jesus and what he did (John 3:16) and turn away from habits of sin (Luke 13:3). That’s it. Our actions are the evidence for whether our faith is real (James 2:17), but since everyone fails on a daily basis, we aren’t saved by our actions, but only by God’s mercy (Ephesians 2:8-9), so when we fail, all we need to do is confess our sins to God, and continue fighting (1 John 1:9). Hopefully this helps anybody in need, and I hope you have a great day!
Amen
That the Salamanders are not the favorite faction of Warhammer, is sadly a stark look into the general prevailing trait humans exhibit in literally every facet of our known existence. And that trait is sociopathy. The disdain for or inability to consider another is, as far as my nearly half a decade of existenial experience has wrought unto me, is exacerbating at an alarming, though predicted rate. Narcissistic values and goals are now promoted as a "go getter" attitude. We praise and reward and heal money and fame and power on our most popular narcissists and psychopaths, and we look down on and hate and ridicule those who warn away from such things. I'd give a warning and or a prophecy for each and every Warhammer fan, and that is, all this time playing war, and you'll soon perhaps be in the middle of a real one.
And the most unbelievable aspect of Warhammer isn't the technology, it isn't the primarchs or the emperor, not the Necrons, or the warp or Orks, no none of that. The most unbelievable aspect is finding honor in war. There is no f*CKING honor when you see an old lady laying up on the broken body of her son or husband wailing and crying to be killed because the pain of losing them is too much to bear. Or children dirty, starving and terrified, because their parents were killed in a bombing and they are now war orphans. So small they haven't fully emotionally processed what life decided to do to them by making them victims in the worst way possible. What glorious honor is found in war. Not even revenge against a perpetrator makes anything right or whole of avenged. It simply add just one more broken and hurt human somewhere down the line, that will continue the never ending cycle of victims and vengeance.
