Good question. There's a lot to unpack in that question, like what the disability is, if you're unemployable, what kind of help ADL's is needed, what other disabilities could be claimed as secondaries, what unclaimed direct SC conditions can be claimed? Utilizing a free attorney consult would definitely be worth your time - IMO.

What about if I qualify for the basic aid and attendance and then my wife is totally housebound and bedridden can I get additional money to help take care of her now that I’m no longer able to do so?
I had a traumatic brain injury while serving in the army. I applied and was denied smc and I deal with all kinds of problems stemming from it. I am already 100% p&t. How do I fight them on this?
Hmm…so what if I get a 100% out the gate. There is no opportunity to receive the additional ratings. And the way I understand it, you can’t get paid greater than 100% (roughly $3600) by stacking additional claims and ratings. Just trying to understand the SMC stuff. APTTMHY
Let me know if there is something I can clear up in the video. Some SMC is inferred once you reach certain ratings, as explained in the 100 plus 60 rule.
If your P&T with no one service connection at 100% alone and other conditions totalling 60% or more combine. Ask yourself is it worth it? Otherwise see which connection can increase to 100% by itself. If so first focus on that by filing an increase of severity. Once you get that then file for SMC-S. That's the approach I would take.

While I don't have 100% on any of my individual conditions, I do have a maximum rating at 60% and a 50% on another, will those qualify?

How does a vet ask for SMC S if they’re eligible by ratings but not receiving it and don’t want to initiate any claims actions?
If you are entitled to it and it hasn't been granted, you are going to have to file a new claim, appeal or CUE depending on the facts

No. Just ask for it on a 526ez

That program is a disaster. The VHA manages it. I won't even accept those cases any longer.

SMC pays above the 100% rate. You can apply for SMC such as Aid and Attendance after you receive the 100% rating.

I did my own TDIU SMC-S it's not that difficult.

Once I did a supplemental it took about 3 months
