The only acceptable social run is a cool down run after a race. Ideally, with someone who I beat in the race. They can admire me, congratulate me and I can use all my pre-prepared excuses.
A Serious Runner would drive halfway across the state to run with a friend. Sage would run halfway across the state to run with a friend. I’m not into ultras yet. Got to get my mileage up. I hope to meet both of you one day. Keep up the seriously good work.
@@TheSeriousRunner the opposite! This channel is refreshing and super funny! Different from the "niche" of running channels that all they do is shoe reviews, blogs for coming up races, etc
I used to avoid those so called “social runs” but now they are important parts of my life. They make up the 80% easy. Love having beers after my 10:00 paced runs
This is one of your best vids 😂 so timely too. I found myself so caught up in training that running was becoming a chore. Decided to extremely loosen up my approach and mix in more “social” runs. Turns out having fun makes running enjoyable and I’ve been running better than before! Keep calling out the community!!
i believe every word you say SR. thanks for the advice, and yes, a serious runner wears 3 inch or 2 inch shorts (unless its cold, then its tights). dont show upt to social runs with basketball shorts because you dont want to show too much skin, or give the impression you're running a marathon.
Thank you so much for your amazing content. It always cheers me up and I need cheering because since my life revolves around running and none of my friends run I don't ever see people. 😂

The only way id social run is if i can completely outpace the other person and make them feel inferior. Then i can lend them some of my pre written excuses or tell them to run in zone 2 more.
Oh man. This was epic! Seriously epic. Btw, I think it’s Time to up your serious running gear. Add a hydration patch and an arm heart rate monitor, and a strydfoot pod 😂
Mr. Hoka's drinking First Cast IPA (Indian Pale Ale) & Mr. Serious Runner Waterloo Strawberry Sparkling Water? I'll be running with Mr. Hoka thank you.....
I relate to your clips WAY too much 😂 Had this problem Tuesday while with my HTC team. The post said "4 mile run" and I know most of them run about a 10 min/mi so I tagged along since that's my Z2 pace. But they were all slower except 2 of them and we were WAY ahead.
@TheSeriousRunner no doubt. It was group of 9 of us. I am introverted AF so I am not used to having to speed up or slow down to keep up with a group (unless it's speeding up to pass a pack or individual person in a race). And I hate subjective terms without numbers behind them. I have friends that run sub 15 minute 5ks so an "easy" run for them is a sub 7-minute mile.
I did my first 100k trail race a few weeks back. Forgive me. I walked longer than I ran. Forgive me again. Must. Do. Better. (Although I did reject the Prosecco I was offered at the finish line, so…)
That run did not end on an exact mile or kilometer?! Bruh, serious runner status revoked! Only a noob would run an odd distance. Must be exact. Be better!
@@conradburdekin722 I love this man - we did a video together some time ago - he’s a genius and just what the world needs … I’d love to get him and sage on a podcast be hilarious

well said!
😂
"That is NOT running!" 😂😂😂
The comment at 2:40 is too funny! "Eliud Kipchoge: Duuude, I'm so jealous!!!!" 🤣
The irony of Sage actually being the serious runner of the two
that's subjective.

Love your collabs with Sage.
he's a good sport!
man I gotta say, this is an awesome refreshing channel about running that is always 100% spot on LOL....
are you suggesting that a lot of other running channels make similar content???

One of your best ones. Thank Kipchgi 😂
“We should do this again next week.” I love it and so true!
Hold the phone! 2:40 with the Kipchoge comment on the Strava post! Too funny!!!
Bravo! This was great.... "or God forbid trails"
I feel exposed!!!😂 My one and only social run had hills, and the pace was fast. I now have no friends 😂😂
“That is not running “ No 🤔. Is it falling with style? 🤷🏻♂️😆

That look at the end after Sage says, “We should do this again next week.” 😬
“Social Run” is a logical impossibility. It must be one or the other! ;-)

people say running is social.... which can be true if you find people right around your paces
You know it’s serious content when there is slo-mo clips 🤩
this will be a main point in my TED Talk one day

okay, but no alcohol for like 10 weeks before a race!
Brilliant video! 👏
this is so relatable lol
great stuff. as always.
🙏
This is so me 😂😂😂
6:00 p.m. social run - Perhaps.
6:05 p.m. social run - Thanks, you just obliterated my taper, my race, my career, my life and my legacy. Way to go.
the importance of precision cannot be overstated.
I love your music choices: the epic, the serious threatening (always used for the BAA meetings) and the Kumbaya sentimental
music is such a big part of editing. I keep asking Hans Zimmer to score these videos, but he hasn't responded.
He will, as soon as Tracksmith reaches out.
I relate to your clips WAY too much 😂

It's nearly impossible to get this dynamic right unless you have a HUGE group... like some of the NYRR teams

Were you running in the orange OG VFs?
I'm old school like that.
Wow this looks like a great place to run!
🤣
Commenting to help Serious Runner
We are beholden to the algorithm. Thank you
Thank Kipchoge for flat roads!
Waterloo 😂
Help to keep trail running fr$$
I was expecting it to be the Magnolia Rd run with Allie O. et al :-)
that would've been great, but too hard logistically to pull off.
Seriously great! For the Algorithm..🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Both me and the algorithm appreciate it.
That was good 😅 and kind of true lol
Who is the amateur in Hoka shirt? 😅
🤣

Must. Do. Better.

Hangs out in full running gear. I feel seen.
do serious runners even own other clothes??
But what would the BAA say?
That run did not end on an exact mile or kilometer?! Bruh, serious runner status revoked! Only a noob would run an odd distance. Must be exact. Be better!

This is definitely NOT running!
that's objective.
