Great video, Jason! This is how I made it to the end stages of the game. I love my activated indium farm even though I don't really need it anymore. Something I like to do is stack the extractors directly on top of each other, either in a few big towers or in stacks of three in pretty lines. The reason is that you aren't moving too far away from the 100% (mine is also S class). I also stack the EMGs, and one of my projects today is going to be putting some strobe lights on the towers. With my current set-up, I just make stasis devices because I like to control my resources that way, but for the beginning, mining was the best thing I could have done. Again, great video! If any of you viewers see TallChewy in the Anomaly, lmk and I'll send you a stasis device if you want one.

A while ago someone gave me 5 stasis devices while I was on the Anomaly and I think it was TallChewy. I was pretty new to the game and had hardly any money. This allowed me to purchase my S Class hauler way sooner than I could have otherwise. So, Jeffrey Goodman, if this WAS you, then thanks! Although Hello Games nerfed this farming method i can still recommend it, im at around 70 hours of playing nms and decided to make this farm yesterday, after just a few hours of searching and building i have 2800 activated indium per hour (which is around 60mln units per day if you have enough storage) with just 12 extractors at B level deposit and a couple of generators. For me this is more than enough money to enjoy the game without constantly grinding for it.
So, yeah.. Those numbers are not even close to this farm from more than a year ago, but is still very efficient for newer players, I also heard that you can bypass the nerf by bulding small farms and not connecting them to each other, but with my current setup i can't say if that's true or not.

I build two class B Activated Indium with 5X5 mineral extractor and 10X4 plus one more inside of my base because I find it in a very stormy planet and like this way I don't need go out. And use only solar plants without batteries.(4 plants per extractor, but they can run only with 3)
Its Much cheaper and only need put them up of the extractors

The highest concentration point appears wherever your retilcle is when you finish the final scanning for the hotspot, if you want it to be below ground to hide your mining equipment, just dig a hole when you're withing 6 meters (before it starts scanning) then when you scan make sure you're in the bottom of your hole when you finish the scan. The dot will appear wherever your reticle is when you complete the scan, so you can Have everything buried if you want or everything way up in the sky.

TL;DR, aa sclass mineral deposit is the most common, and s class gas deposit is rarest. and the mineral deposit have a 1/3 chance of being an activated idium hotspot.

You can extent this out 50u at a go by building walls or metal archs as pylons up to 800u from base computer. I found my first Activated Iridium S class deposit the other day. It was on the side of this mountain so steep the only way to go up was using the jetpack, and the planet is just jam packed with what are basically Mount Everest sized mountains over and over.
So as some of you reading this know, activated metals are always on stormy planets. So here I am fighting this torrential downpour as I'm constructing a mining tower, just minding my own business, and the words "Wind event" flashes across my screen. I thought...ok...so?
Fair warning. If you see those words get inside something immediately. A building, inside your ship, dig a deep hole and jump into it if you have to. Basically a tornado snatches me off the ground, then proceeds to spin me in circles, while beating my ass against the ground over and over again until I was dead. I made 450,000,000 units in an hour and a half yesterday by making fusion igniters; of course there was prep time (farms, both hydroponic and gas (nitrogen, radon, and sulphurine are needed)), and assembly, but I doubt I spent any more time assembling the component parts and igniters than you did making metal panels. You need a lot of ferrite dust for these farms. However, I need a lot of carbon for fusion igniters and I haven't figured out a way to farm carbon yet.
Speaking of which: your hint about refining with oxygen paid of (never run out of ferrite dust again)f:
    1 ferrite dust + 1 oxygen = 1 rusted metal = 2 ferrite dust
    2 ferrite dust = 1 pure ferrite
    1 pure ferrite + 1 oxygen = 2 rusted metal = 4 ferrite dust
    1 ferrite dust + 1 carbon = 1 magnetised ferrite
    1 magnetised ferrite = 2 pure ferrite (+2 oxygen = 4 rusted metal = 8 ferrite dust)

If you need a lot of ferrite dust for all that metal plating, then:
    1. Find one of those dead planets that include "Rusted Metal" as one of its resources
    2. Find a Rusted Metal hotspot (yes, those DO exist)
    3. Set up a Mineral Extractor on top of Rusted Metal hotspot along with all the required accessories (i.e. power system and at least one Supply Depot)
    4. Come back to this base periodically, grab the Rusted Metal, and then process it in a Refiner. One Rusted Metal yields TWO Ferrite Dust. This means, for instance, that 1,250 Rusted Metal gives you 2,500 Ferrite Dust!
That way, you'll never need to buy Ferrite Dust or blast rocks to get Ferrite Dust again!

I'm glad I didn't know that Activated Indium (AI) mining was "endgame" - I usually set up an AI mine on the fourth or fifth planet I visit at the start of a game. Of course, I'm still poor at that point so it's a basic affair, but as soon as it starts to flow you can build more.
I usually try have a Gold mine on a planet in my starting system (or the second system - always choose a second system with a lot of planets for better chances of finding easy Gold). The trick is to start collecting Salvaged Data as soon as you have the Terrain Manipulator. The first time I get to the Anomaly I will be carrying 30-50 Salvaged Data so I can unlock the mineral mining and hyperdrive upgrades. If you can, unlock the Minotaur too, great for exploring Extreme worlds where AI is found.
Another speedup trick is to buy a couple of cheap ship weapon upgrades at a space station, install them and immediately break them down for mats. You get enough Cadmium to build an Emeril drive. I almost never visit red star systems - yellow -> green -> blue is better. Skip red every time.

Damage shields override the need for hazard protection. Build an early copper mine initially for cash, later for chromatic metal, then salt for cash, then magnetized ferrite, then ferrite, get hazard shield for all types, then go to the anomaly and hitch a ride on a resource mission for activated what ever and in under 40hrs, just over 20 for me on survival difficulty, you're rolling in dough. Each mine quickening the build for the next. Also, your build in this mine is not optimal. Spacing out your drills grouped 12 at most about a full wood floors distance apart, and placing them on separate storage negates the nerf. Keep the storage and pipes far away from one another. For example, my partial build 9k/hr mine only gives me 4k when linked. Unlinked its 9k/hr. Running further tests to see what other ways i can manipulate the mine's around the nerf soon.

I drilled straight down to bedrock, and searched for the resources once down there. I built a room with a teleporter, terminal, etc to get materials. Once done, I built a surface building with an elevated landing pad, and connected the base teleport there. Yes, there is the fill in problem, but so far it hasn't ever filled in the subterranean room. So, I can just excavate to my supply tanks when needed. It's no big deal to excavate to the supply tanks, at least not enough to motivate me to connect the supply to surface tanks.

jack horan I think you can get them from attacking freighters cargo pods. If you look at them, it should say what is in them. Shoot the ones that say salvaged frigate modules.

Great videos Jason, keep up the good work. Though you can't stack your extractors you can still build a platform over the previous ones and lay more extractors. I've been doing this for a while now.

Not sure if people know or im late but both the EM generators AND the extractor can be placed above ground as in on top of level floors in the area of the material and still extract. So if your ground is shitty and not flat you can make buildings and place the extractors and generator on wood floors upon floors and still yield the items.
