The guy riding the cart into the pool is actor & sometime racer Parker Stevenson. He did some of his own driving during filming. He was teammate to SCCA Trans-Am racer Terry Herman who I knew. We were at a press day at Sears Point when they both showed up driving full length limos. They piled everyone in for a lap around the track which turned into many. I was in the one driven by Stevenson. He was no slouch behind the wheel.

Burt Reynolds was grand marshal for the 1994 Hooters 500 race and was present when Earnhardt won his seventh and final championship.
Something tells me these guys had a lot of fun filming this scene.
