Hey everyone, hope you enjoy part two. Feel free to like or share the video with your cycling friend and leave a comment below on how great my parents are for bringing us sandwiches, ginger snaps and puffed wheat squares!
oh yes the heat dome...my sister and I were cycling the KVR from Christina Lake to Kelowna during that heat wave. We spent most of our time soaking our clothes in the creek to cool us down. It was great fun
So good, AGAIN! Im heading out for a wildcamp tomorrow night. Weather forecast -1 C, snow and sleet showers! That is one stacked, or snacked top tube bag! ATB mate
Gray creek pass was probably my second favourite part of the trip. So much fun to rip down into Gray Creek. We stopped at a Chinese Food restaurant for dinner. The owner must have felt sorry for us because it was so hot so she let us come in and eat (they had only been doing take out for the last year). She was a rock star!
@@SirBikesAlot , that was very nice! We stayed at the private campground just at the base. The lady saw us ride by, flagged us down to stay there and welcomed us with beers. So nice.
Fantastic segments you've chosen. You are a quite talented and it's much appreciated for someone to share videos that really highlight the beauty of the Trans Canada Trail with it's diverse habitats. It's all volunteers that pretty much take care of all the segments and we advocate for more provincial funding for Recreation Sites and Trails BC. We also advocate for getting self-propelled travel prioritized. Join us at Trails Society of BC if you would like to help us make this rail trail what it was intended to be. It really should be a linear provincial park across BC so it can be valued as it deserves. Thank you!
Love 💕 your videos. I'm seeing some places I haven't seen before. The image of the nettting tent 🏕set up by beautiful rushing water was awesome. Thanks for keeping the dialogue to a minimum and showing the journey. 👍☮️🌞🌟🚴🏔🏕
Thanks for the positive feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. Regarding the dialogue, to be honest I really don't really like talking into the camera, I feel like I just say the same things, but I know that it's important for trying to pull together some kind of narrative. Should have the third and final part up in the next few weeks once I get the time to edit it. Cheers.
Another great video! Excellent shots at the top of Grey Creek Pass. Arlington Lakes is one of my favourite places to bike pack into. They are super bikepacker friendly. Can’t wait for the next video.
Gray creak pass was a highlight for me on the trip. It wasn’t that tough of a climb coming west and the decent was amazing (and very cold). Have you had the chance to get up there yourself?
@@daigentaylor Sounds like many people are planning on riding it this year. I'm going to try and find a baby sitter for a week and maybe come do it myself.
Great video, thanks. a lot of the rail trail is very vulnerable right next to the rivers. i expect lots of sections of rail trail must have just been washed away.
Yeah, When I was editing this I had the same thoughts. I wonder what the condition of some of the rail trials are closer to merit and hope. I’d suspect many of them will need significant repair. That would be an absolute shame to lose them.
@@SirBikesAlot The bridge before the tunnel into Princeton is damaged and partly washed away. there is a youtube video of it. a small problem compared to all the people with flooded homes and farms. ua-cam.com/video/7MNIjFdty_4/v-deo.html
@@chromebook2724 Wow, that's insane amount of movement. Hopefully they will be able to repair it shortly along with all the other infrastructure that needs to be fixed. Hopefully, folks who experience flooding are able to rebuild in the near future soon as well.
Been waiting for this to come out. Great footage! Nice to see cameo from your mom and dad! Any idea what your bike weighed fully loaded on your trip? Thanks.
Hey Robert, I think my bike is 27 lbs and the gear might be another 15-20? Hard to really say because it was so hot on this trip I was carrying up to 5L of water at any given time (plus food as well). I'm thinking of doing another gear pack video in the summer for an special trip I have planned in July. I might be switching up my packing system a bit for that one so it could be cool to figure out my base weight as well. Thanks for the idea!
Lovely video and beautiful landscapes! I'd like to ask you, does the "enter at your own risk" sign refers to bear or to the fact that there's no assistance in case you get lost/injured? Did your Beyond perform well in every terrain you had on this trip? Cheers from Finland :)
Cheers from Canada :) I'm glad you enjoyed the video, there will be one more to come. As far as the sign goes, I suspect it's less about bears are common in most places. It's probably has to do with liability so that if you hurt yourself, then it's not the governments fault. I don't recall seeing any other signs like this one on the trip.
@@SirBikesAlot lol I searched a few times and I’m not sure why it wasn’t coming up. Then I saw the Instagram post and boom! So…. I’m glad we connected!

Cool! There is a trail that goes from cultus lake to Hope. I’d note that there are lots of trees down between chulliack lake and Hope. We had to hike over downed trees for a few km.
Hey Mark, I can’t remember the exact date but it was the second week in June I believe. We finished in early July during the heat dome. We had planned on a longer trip but I hurt myself and had to pull out. All to come in part three :)

Gray Creek Pass, phew, what a long climb. Luckily, no snow when we went over it. The C&W sections were top highlights. Great vid again 😀👍

Another great video !! Keeps me motivated and my eye on the prize riding the BC Epic again.
Thanks Rob. Hopefully not too much of this trail has been affected by the floods and the Epic can carry on similar to previous years!
I have a feeling it’s gonna be a whole new adventure this year. Think I’ll bring hip waders just in case for Brookmere to summerland.
Bears are scary!!
Not at scary as cougars!
