It's not working because {{CompanyName}} is within this. customization within customization apparently doesn't work. Remove the company name variable and then try again.

does spintax need to be on the follow up emails as well or only the first cold email?
You can add the Spintax to all the steps, it can only help with deliverability.
Lol sounds like a bug. You prolly can put anything in there, not just "RANDOM"
