Buying fakes (let's call it what it is) does fund terrorism (as you point out). It's also responsible for child and slave labor. Bottom line, it's illegal. I totally agree with your entire presentation and ethics. It's good to see your point of view and call out the cowardice of people who say, "I don't judge." Those people, it seems to me, are just afraid of losing views and subscribes.
I don't think UA-camrs saying "I don't judge" are afraid of losing subscribers. I don't judge and I'm not afraid of losing subscribers. I'm always truthful and I'd rather be truthful and have 10 subscribers than fake and have 10,000. This is a tough topic. I don't buy fakes and I don't support counterfeits, but if someone else has a fake bag that's on them. I just don't get it - there are so many great, affordable brands out there with great quality and craftsmanship at great prices. I'd much rather have one of those than a fake.
Great video. After I bought my first few luxury bags I bought a few fake Dior bags - thinking I could have so much more if I bought fakes. I spent around $400 per bag. They were super fakes. The quality was great. They were beautiful. The unexpected problem I had was how I felt carrying them. I just had bags that said Christian Dior (my favorite brand) across the front of them. They weren't Christian Dior bags. People gushed. People commented. I admited they were fake. They were beautiful. I just didn't like the way it made me feel when I carried them. I've since given them a way and bought two Dior bags, and I love how I feel when I carry them. I've never bought another fake. But, I hope when I'm out everyone thinks my bags are fake, LOL, so I don't get mugged. You are right. There are so many great brands out there., like Aspinal, Senreve, Guibert, Polene, and Coach to name a few, that are so beautiful and well made. I'd much rather have one of those than a fake. Guibert bags are stunning - beautifully crafted, beautiful materials. It is one of my favorite brands.
Thanks for your honesty Gene and really pleased that switching out to the real thing brought you joy (still think the superfakes only deserve to be in landfill 😜) ! I will check out Guibert ! Never heard of the brand but always up for exploring new maisons 😃😃
The counterfeit industry thrives not because of criminal masterminds, but because our culture and luxury brands have set the stage for it. We’ve glorified logos over craftsmanship, creating a society obsessed with status symbols instead of true value. Luxury brands perpetuate this by deliberately creating scarcity and inflating prices, knowing it fuels desire and, ironically, the demand for knockoffs. The counterfeiting problem isn’t just an illegal industry issue… it’s a reflection of a cultural fixation with appearances over authenticity. The real conversation is about our own societal values. Thanks for always bringing great content. 🙌🏆🖤🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
What’s a shame is that there are so many beautiful brands with gorgeous aesthetics that mean you don’t have to go down the counterfeit route ! But if people want one logo specifically unfortunately it happens !!
I’m a painter. It’s like someone taking a picture of one of my paintings and selling copies of it. Not ok. Plus, all of the people who get taken in believing they bought the real thing. It’s stealing. ❤❤
Absolutely !! If you were choose to make prints or versions of one of your painting’s etc. that you can control the marketing of, authenticity of etc. then that’s for you to manage not for anyone else to do without your knowledge or consent !!
💯 it's refreshing to hear someone actually say their true opinion. All those others ,oh, I'm not here to judge', makes them sound as fake as the fake bags that they won't judge (but we all know that they do judge 🤔🤦♀️🤣)
I am with you 💯. The products are dishonestly made and there is dishonesty in owning and carrying these items. It also perpetuates the production of more of these items and puts them out in the market for someone looking for an authentic piece to potentially purchase.
Had to take a few days and think about this. Fashion Roadman and Tanner Leatherstein have both spoken to or demonstrated the extremely poor quality of so-called luxury goods, even as fashion houses hike up prices. Burberry and Mulberry admitted they priced their goods too high and will lower them. Tanner dissected a Chanel bag so badly made that he thought it was fake despite it being authenticated. And let's not forget that many fashion houses secretly make their bags in third world countries using poorly paid women and children, but still also a made in Europe label on them. If fashion houses want to put an end to fakes, they'll make a quality product at a fair price point. LV, for example, used to sell for just a bit more than Coach 10-15 years ago. They still made a healthy profit. They're just being greedy now, charging 2, 3, or even 5x what they did a decade ago for a poorer quality product. So I have little sympathy for most brands doing this. People are starting to turn to lesser known or new brands that still have high quality. Think FLP, Delage, Pinel & Pinel, Aspinal. That, to me, is more ethical than buying a dupe. But either way, I'm not judging anyone on this. Thanks for bringing up this difficult topic!
You’ll irritate some! Agree with all your points. From whom and where and the production processes of the counterfeiters are issues consumers should seriously consider.
Apparently al-Qaeda earned (might still be earning) lots of money from counter fit designer items 😳 When I was 14, I bought two pairs of fake Chanel earrings at a market, while I was on holiday in Cairns (Australia), which I regret now (one pair turned green after a few weeks, and really hurt my ears! I'm super glad I only wore them once and didn't get an infection 😆) luckily they were only about $2.50AUD (1.30 British Pounds), so even if they were a dodgy seller (which I highly doubt, since the market's had a very hippy, peace loving vibes) they would've earned so little money from them. . .!
I honestly do both, I judge and then dismiss it for I cannot tell people what to do with their money. I’m surprised UA-cam allows all these dhgate videos with their replica items. I personally don’t participate for all the reasons you mentioned. I also did a video on this as well trying to encourage people not to buy from fakes. I tried to appeal from the financial aspect of it, that it just makes sense not to money wise. But I’m not going to lie, I was a bit nice or “pc” if you will, not to upset those who may do. Great video by the way, it’s definitely something that needs to be said. We all want a bargain, but there are better and legitimate ways of going about it.
Thank you I really appreciate that ! I thought really hard how to approach this video as my goal is never to intentionally upset anyone, but felt strong enough in my point of view ! Will take a look at your video !
To me it’s like cheating - a short cut at someone else’s expense. People getting ahead at the expense of others is not ok by me. If you don’t value the design, brand and what it takes to purchase it… why wear a knock off? It’s besides the point.
Ive just brought a vintage fake bag, LV, 50 NZ dollars. I like the look of it and have no regrets. Ive got a fake birkin. No regrets. I dont pretend that they are anything but fake. They are both vintage bags, and the cost of the origionals are obscene.
The costs of the authentic pieces can be a lot, but I still think there are lots of other brands to be explored or other marketplaces e.g. pre-loved or outlet ! Appreciate your honesty though !

I think some people certainly prefer to hold a more neutral stance, which in fairness I do with some topics, but this certainly isn’t one of them !

I agree with you 💯% Nick! I judge, too. It's just not right. Thank you for your honesty! 💕

Really appreciate that, never sure on posting videos like this as it’s never my goal to upset anyone, but thought this was a point worth making.
A great video lovely Nick. I love how you tell it how it is and how you stay true to yourself. Much love to you and sweet Poppy. Jenni. XX 💞
Thanks Jenni really appreciate that !!

Hi. I was in the Fendi outlet and they had this massive Peakaboo in black zucca for $2,100. Was so tempted, but it was massive.
So so true !! Appreciate the brands and accept their pricing or go elsewhere
for sure !!
