This is by far one of the best candle making videos I've seen so far on UA-cam. The video feels calming and it lures me in to keep watching. Her voice is calm and welcoming. Candles remind me of Christmas.
Amazing thank you!! I’m trying to make a wood infused candle for my workshop out of the best smelling sawdust I’ve ever made! Hopefully the infusing like you did with the cinnamon will work just as well!!
This is one of the best tutorials I've found. Do you mind me asking? While you're waiting for the first layer of wax to cool in the jar, do you just keep the remaining wax on the heat to keep it from getting firm before filling the candle the rest of the way? Thanks in advance!! ❤️
Wonderful idea, beautiful project and brilliant tutorial video, thank you! I love the smell of cinnamon and have been told those pesky mosquitoes hate it! Wanting to attempt to diy my first ever scented candle. 🤞the candles turn out and keep the vampires away while outside this summer. 🤞the candles turn out so that I can make more to use inside our home from September to April! Thank you again ❤ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦
what an awesome tutorial, super informative, relaxing and to the point. i'm a new candle maker so i learned quite a lot! the candles are just gorgeous btw, but you probably knew that haha. thanks for sharing :D
How long do you suggest it takes to wait between each layer? And while waiting do you ever have to heat the wax again in the case that hardens while waiting for the jar wax to harden? And does that effect fragrance?
This was an awesome video, thank you! Is the overall burn of the candle consistent? Don’t the cinnamon sticks and additional bits hinder the burn and distribution of heat through the top of the candle?
Thanks, I'm glad you found my soy candle tutorial helpful. Soy burns the same as any other candle wax. With larger candles, I would use two wicks for a consistent burn. The cinnamon sticks don't hinder the burn or heat distribution. You should just move them away from the flame as the wax melts. 🙂
Great tutorial Jayne! I haven't made candles in years and this inspired me to make some! Is there a reason why your used cinnamon powder with the beeswax instead of the essential oils?
Hi Cindy! Sorry for the late reply, I've been a little under the weather - OK now though. The only reason I used cinnamon powder in the beeswax candle was that I wanted to make the candle look a little darker. I don't notice a difference in the fragrance at all.
Hello Jann. The cinnamon sticks usually stay on the outside of the candle as the wax burns down and do not come into contact with the wick. If you see that one of the sticks is too close to the candle wick you could trim it a little to avoid it burning. 🎄
I leave them in because the warm wax makes them smell more intense, but I make sure they are not near the flame and I always keep an eye on them when they are burning. 👀 Hope that helps. 🙂
Hi there, I've never used fresh herbs in my candles as yet but would love to give that a try. I would think that you would still need some drops of essential oil if you want a stronger smell though. Try it out both ways to see which you like best, that's what I usually do. Good luck with your candlemaking project and thanks for watching and commenting! 👋
I’ve never gotten good scents from bees wax it doesn’t seem to bind with the fragrance but other waxes I’ve had success. I wonder why maybe because your using actual cinnamon sticks ?

Nice! Can I incorporate cinnamon powder directly into melted soy wax? Instead of essential oil?
Hi Farah, thanks for your comment. Yes, you can add cinnamon powder to the melted wax instead of essential oil. 🙂
Wonderful tutorial! Do the cinnamon sticks not burn?

Is there an homemade alternative for essential oil?
Not that I'm aware of. 👋
do you remove the cinnamon sticks after wax melts? or is it ok to leave ?
I leave them in because the warm wax makes them smell more intense, but I make sure they are not near the flame and I always keep an eye on them when they are burning. 👀 Hope that helps. 🙂
Thats a lot more than 6 drops?
Hi 👋🏽 have you ever used fresh herbs when the wax is melting ? Would there be a good smell or would I have to enhance with natural oils

Hi Faith, thanks for watching and for commenting. You might be right. I think using cinnamon sticks and star anise does make a difference.
can i use cinnamon powder with the soywax?
Yes, you can. 🙂
👌🔥🔥
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this candle making tutorial!
This will turn into a big uncontrollable flame.......😮
Same thought !!
No it won't. I've been making these for years and that's never happened.
Please no music. Can’t concentrate
Sorry you can't concentrate!
Never even noticed the music lol
