I would personally put in a 454 with a mild cam, gear it for driving, and keep the original paint so it keeps those great memories while creating new ones. If you paint it a different color it’s not going to be the same car that you had when you grew up
If it was me I'd throw a 396, a 427 or a 454 in the camaro. You have enough modern fast cars I think it would be cool to have some simple old school muscle

Gavin, before you give up on the cracked engine block, see if it can be repaired. If you keep the engine stock, it may work fine. On the bodywork, your car is cleaner than most so don't get too depressed about it. When it is done, it will look great.

Who specifically? He said it was covered in body filler which would indicate it wasn't factory. Dom said that all the dents were covered in bondo and the fender had already been patched once so it seems pretty obvious that the car was repaired and repainted at some point.
@@tncdenney I actually went and watched the videos and it looks like the car was stripped to bare metal and repainted in the early 70s. The whole roof was skim coated with bondo which is why the metal was pitted so bad.
