@@yawenmama Forgive me for saying this but I have always felt that the Asian Community have always had this Zen life about them before it became part of the vernacular. I visited a House of a Friend who was Asian and I was dumbfounded at how clean, neat and organized everything was. I didn't grow up in a sloppy house but you see how you have clutter without realizing it. Can you imagine how many people Marie Kondo helped in terms of being reborn in so many ways.

Nami your videos are always so peaceful and relaxing and teach us how to enjoy cleaning and feel satisfied with our efforts, as well as showing us new places and traditions. I do enjoy them. I wouldn't normally post a recipe but the lemon cake you enjoyed is called Lemon Meringue Pie here in the UK, it's a family favourite and the dessert my daughter's friends always ask me to make if they are coming over - I'm the Lemon Meringue Queen! I have a very easy method so I'll share it: I use a china fluted flan dish 25cm across so quantities are for that. First the pastry case: I used to make my own pastry using butter but my husband is dairy free so now I buy a sheet of ready rolled dairy free shortcrust pastry, (Jus Roll is the brand in the UK and has choice of dairy free and butter pastry so you could use the one made with butter) roll it slightly thinner and line the flan dish and bake it blind (about 20 mins in a hot oven) and put to one side. Or you could buy a ready made pastry case. The lemon filling: Here's the special secret of my recipe. Forget grating and squeezing lemons like other recipes. You need a good liquidiser. 2 lemons 4 egg yolks (save the 4 egg whites for the meringue) 8oz (225 grams) caster sugar 2 oz (57 grams) cornflour 1/2 pint (275ml) water Cut the lemons into 4 and place all the above ingredients in the liquidiser and blitz them. Then strain the mixture into a saucepan, really stirring and scraping to get as much liquid out as possible. Heat slowly and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently til it thickens, it should be nice and gloopy. Allow to cool. At this point you could add a small knob of butter - maybe an ounce or two to make it richer but as husband is dairy free I don't. The mixture is wonderfully sharp using this method and so delicious with the sweet meringue topping. When you are nearly ready to serve spread the cooled lemon mix onto the pastry case. Whisk the four egg whites until very stiff, adding 6oz (170 grams) caster sugar to make a stiff meringue mix. Spread it over the lemon filling - I don't do any piping or anything, generous spoonfuls piled on to make a fluffy top with lots of soft peaks, just smooth a little to fill any gaps. Bake in a hot oven - about 180 degrees? and I'm a bit vague on time - about 20 minutes I'd say, until the meringue is browning nicely on top and going a little crispy. It will be all marshmallowy inside. Please don't use a blow torch - it needs to oven bake so the meringue is properly cooked! It's the best recipe as very easy but importantly the liquidising method gives a very intense lemon flavour which makes it so extra delicious. I've never tried it but I am sure you could divide the filling into a couple of batches and freeze half, you can freeze egg whites too, so make a smaller pie for one and have the rest ready for a quick treat another day. I hope you try it and enjoy a favourite dessert from the UK! ❤

Děti už mají své životy. Mladší syn teď nastoupil na vysokou školu a tak jsem zůstala doma sama. Najednou nevím co si počít s tím časem. Dokud máme děti, je to kolotoč. Do práce, z práce nakoupit, udelat úkoly do školy, kontrola, precist @ ze školy shánět vecina poslední chvíli do školy, uvařit, umýt nádobí, uklidit, vyprat, rychlá sprcha, pomalé usínání jestli jsem na něco nezapomněla..A druhý den to samé znovu. A teď? Přijdu z práce, dám sprchu, ohřeju si jídlo, kterého vařím pořád stejně jak jsem byla zvyklá 😅 a pak nějak nevím ci dál. Neumím se starat jen sama o sebe. Neumím si dělat krásné prostředí jen pro sebe. Neumím se hýčkat. Here is something different to try with your French Toast next time: slice the bread then soak it in the egg, then fry it. Nami your videos are always so peaceful and relaxing and teach us how to enjoy cleaning and feel satisfied with our efforts, as well as showing us new places and traditions. I do enjoy them.
I wouldn't normally post a recipe but the lemon cake you enjoyed is called Lemon Meringue Pie here in the UK, it's a family favourite and the dessert my daughter's friends always ask me to make if they are coming over - I'm the Lemon Meringue Queen! I have a very easy method so I'll share it:
I use a china fluted flan dish 25cm across so quantities are for that.
First the pastry case: I used to make my own pastry using butter but my husband is dairy free so now I buy a sheet of ready rolled dairy free shortcrust pastry, (Jus Roll is the brand in the UK and has choice of dairy free and butter pastry so you could use the one made with butter) roll it slightly thinner and line the flan dish and bake it blind (about 20 mins in a hot oven) and put to one side. Or you could buy a ready made pastry case.
The lemon filling: Here's the special secret of my recipe. Forget grating and squeezing lemons like other recipes. You need a good liquidiser.
2 lemons
4 egg yolks (save the 4 egg whites for the meringue)
8oz (225 grams) caster sugar
2 oz (57 grams) cornflour
1/2 pint (275ml) water
Cut the lemons into 4 and place all the above ingredients in the liquidiser and blitz them. Then strain the mixture into a saucepan, really stirring and scraping to get as much liquid out as possible.
Heat slowly and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently til it thickens, it should be nice and gloopy. Allow to cool.
At this point you could add a small knob of butter - maybe an ounce or two to make it richer but as husband is dairy free I don't. The mixture is wonderfully sharp using this method and so delicious with the sweet meringue topping.
When you are nearly ready to serve spread the cooled lemon mix onto the pastry case.
Whisk the four egg whites until very stiff, adding 6oz (170 grams) caster sugar to make a stiff meringue mix.
Spread it over the lemon filling - I don't do any piping or anything, generous spoonfuls piled on to make a fluffy top with lots of soft peaks, just smooth a little to fill any gaps.
Bake in a hot oven - about 180 degrees? and I'm a bit vague on time - about 20 minutes I'd say, until the meringue is browning nicely on top and going a little crispy. It will be all marshmallowy inside. Please don't use a blow torch - it needs to oven bake so the meringue is properly cooked!
It's the best recipe as very easy but importantly the liquidising method gives a very intense lemon flavour which makes it so extra delicious.
I've never tried it but I am sure you could divide the filling into a couple of batches and freeze half, you can freeze egg whites too, so make a smaller pie for one and have the rest ready for a quick treat another day.

Přijdu z práce, dám sprchu, ohřeju si jídlo, kterého vařím pořád stejně jak jsem byla zvyklá 😅 a pak nějak nevím ci dál.
Neumím se starat jen sama o sebe. Neumím si dělat krásné prostředí jen pro sebe. Neumím se hýčkat.

Here is something different to try with your French Toast next time: slice the bread then soak it in the egg, then fry it. You will get a completely different texture that I think you will love.
