The only thing i don't like about this guys demos is he generally starts from a dirty sound and calls it clean. That's misleading. Nonetheless, I love his demos and have used them to guide me towards my 7 MXR pedals (2 boards). But this one is great through a clean amp. But the way he does with little grind already there makes it push things perfectly.
He starts with a medium overdrive setting to show how these pedals were meant to be played with. These overdrive/distortion pedals are meant to boost your tube driven sounds.
Back in the day, when these first became popular, that's how we did it. Most amps couldn't get full distortion, so we used whatever overdrive the amp had, and the pedal for the rest.
even though this is damn near a completely different pedal design than the original plus, it doesn't mean it doesn't sound great. it's a very clean distortion almost has the same natural breakup of a chunky overdrive and brightens up anyone's tone. I do recommend this pedal for anyone wanting a recommendation.
This is just madness! You start off stating this is the classic pedal when in reality, its a whole new pedal! And you go more wrong from there! It's gonna take at least 18 years of playing before guys can sound like this or randy's sound. And it's gonna take 20 years before guys can get the rest of the gear to make randy's type of sound. Stop making it sound easy! It's not! This is a 2000 + era sound and its not the old pedals sound.
My first pedal 1978..my next buy 2018
