Sad to say a remake or sequel won't exist. They were going to make a second one but after both Eurocom and THQ shut down the IP for this game (if any) has totally disappeared. Remaking or even producing a new game would require a lot of money, R&D and time. A big studio or development company would have to do so.

I don't think it's necessary to remake a game that is already so perfect to play on the Nintendo Switch. Remaster is already good enough.

Started a new playthrough on this just yesterday, continued a bit throughout the night. Ahh, the memories~ I was brought back to it when I randomly remembered Abydos's main theme, or "The Juggler" as it seems to be called in this tracklist, haha.
This was a really great game that I played when I was a child in the golden age of PS2

2022 and looking back this game turned me into a genius. So many great puzzles as a kid. I never actually beat but will do a playthrough soon.

That is one of my favorites as well.
I actually had a demo in a PS2 disc of this game, with two levels, and that made me fall in love with the game. Sadly, the game took its time to be released where I live, and by the time it arrived here I already had forgotten about it. If I ever find it second hand, I'll get it and clean my old dusty PS2 to play it. I'll make sure to avoid that special saving point though.

This game uses Eurocom’s own proprietary engine named, EngineX, renamed as, EngineXT, who updated to support new consoles such as, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Microsoft Windows, and Wii U. But after the acquisition of THQ Nordic, The were focusing on these two platforms such as, another Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch. Eurocom has developed 6 Blue Sky Studios games from 2005-2011. But, Eurocom has remastered Goldeneye 007: Reloaded. Eurocom has developed a Disney game owned by Disney Interactive Studios is, Disney Universe. Disney Universe uses EngineXT too. But I hope that Eurocom will be revived and remake Disney Universe 2.0 Edition to add new Disney and Pixar Worlds and characters as well. They will release it for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. I hope that EngineXT will be available for all of us to use it to make our own projects and as well as Euroland, EuroEdit, and Hashtagable Codes as well to be available for Eurocom to giveaway for free and still use it for new projects what directors came up with an idea of a game.

I do hope that this game gets a remake for the PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. Also, how come Sphinx and the Cursed Munmy got a remastered edition for Nintendo Switch and not the PS4 or PS5? I remember playing this game as a kid on my PS2 and had a lot of fond adventures with it.
My most favorite ps2 game ever is Sphinx. for ps1 it would be The Legend of Dragoon.
I played Legend of Dragoon on the PS5 and played Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy on the PS2. Both are underrated Classics.
This is still one of my favorite games. The Halo series was more popular (it came out at the same time), and not many people played it. However, those who played it loved it. Hopefully enough people will discover it and demand a sequel.
So sad that even with THQ being bought, the IP is lost to us, never to be remade, or even getting its sequel.
