  • The amount of twists during the match is impressive. John Higgins has been playing close to his prime, defeating O'Sullivan and Allen, and now must face young star Neil Robertson, who has been playing like a machine, hardly misses long shots and seems to hold the pressure quite well. But John has the excited Glasgow crowd on his side, which gives both players a well-deserved standing ovation at the end of the spectacular final frame. You will certainly agree with them.
The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The controversial 2010 Higgins meeting: Information for people who had no opportunity to investigate further:
    1. Mazher Mahmood, editor of the newspaper and 'gangster' in the video, was known for living performing similar traps (actors and other sports stars). In October 2016, he was jailed for a year for tampering with evidence involving a singer (a victim of his traps).
    2. The original video lasted 11 minutes, but they only showed 4 min.
The video has too many cuts, answers without questions and vice versa. Moreover, they didn't keep the dialogue structure despite being professional journalists who own the raw footage. They could have excluded the moments of fear and intimidation; perhaps they brought up the topic of foreign properties, making us believe that the idea was Higgins' initiative.
    3. Ian Mill KC* headed a second independent investigation―the first was led by David Douglas, former detective chief at Scotland Yard.―He had access to all original videos and audio tapes (as Douglas had). He textually concluded: "I have no doubt that the Association was right to conclude that this account by Mr Higgins was a truthful one."
His conclusion on Pat Mooney**: "he committed the most egregious betrayals of trust ".
Audiotapes revealed that Pat Mooney was aware of the 'bribery'. He told Higgins they were wealthy sponsors, and just before the meeting, he asked him to play along if the subject of match-fixing came up.
*Ian Mill KC is considered an authority in sports bribery cases in Formula 1, Football Premier League and Tennis ATP, among others. He headed the recent investigation on the ten Chinese snooker players.
**Pat Mooney, Higgins' manager in the video, was a member of the WPBSA board at that time.
    - Meeting: Friday, 30 April 2010.
    - Publishing: Sunday, 2 May 2010, 'coincidentally' during the final at the Crucible.
    - John Higgins at the time: 34 years old, married, two children, World N°1, reigning world champion, famous and millionaire (£5 million only in prize money―£450,000 in 2009).

This match is the perfect example that snooker can bring as much excitement as any other sports. I was sweating watching that rollercoaster final frame. Keep up the great work as always my friend.

10:30 "A good player thinks 3 shots ahead (or more) when building break "....while I take 2 minutes to chalk and another 3 minutes to only focus on the one ball to pott, and eventually miss it!!!!

Fantastic pool playing. Neil has come a long way to get where he's at. Good for him. John is without a doubt one of the best and still producing the goods.

Thinking 5 shots ahead...don't think I've ever potted 5 balls in a row so that would be wasted on me! Have difficulty enough thinking about the current shot, never mind the next one!

The pocket rubbers have no proper undercut which makes them more prone to kick the ball up and out , rather than in and down , less forgiving . I think I can see the full width profile of the rubber nose going right around the curve of the rubber into the pocket . That is wrong .

Technically, John Higgins is guilty of 'Unsporting Conduct' at the end of this match. The rules of snooker state that a 'player shall not concede a frame in any game, or match unless any player requires penalty points. Any breach of this rule shall be regarded as Unsporting Conduct by the player concerned'.

I wonder how much Higgins was paid to throw the final frame? His miss on the final brown was ridiculous enough, but then to put the final black in front of the pocket like that?! Wow. Try not to be so obvious, John...
