      Hey John!! I usually start my pull day with a wide grip pull up (without the band). I can only do 6-7 reps. Does this mean it would be better to use assistance or is 6 reps still good for hypertrophy?

    The last exercise worked best for me personally. I gotta remember to keep tension on the lats as I’m on the stretch portion of the rep as opposed to just letting the weight pull my arms and collapse my shoulders, makes a night a day difference for me. After the set it felt like my shoulders were sitting on stilts haha, I’ve never felt that kinda pump before. Also, on a side note, you can tell you’re a good husband, encouraging the Mrs constantly and giving commendation, and you’re very patient, very solid of you. Love it. Awesome video of many, keep up the good work 👌🏻

  • @calvincooley1074
    @calvincooley1074 6 років тому +5

    I love the HAMMER iso wide lat machine! As a paraplegic (see my channel if you would please) this IS my all time favorite back machine. Some machines work great for me and some are more of a workout just to get on or off of. I also love pull ups & chinups! It's been a long time since I've done any because I need to arrange a man on each side to lift me up to the bar and to get me down.

    • @GabrielMartinsFitness
      @GabrielMartinsFitness 6 років тому

      Calvin Cooley awesome dude! Just a question because I've seen people doing this on my gym: have you ever tried doing the pull ups on a Smith machine? That way you can set the height

    • @calvincooley1074
      @calvincooley1074 6 років тому +2

      Gabriel Martins I've though about it but my concerns would be the extra weight of my chair pulling my spine in an awkward direction and damaging the Harrington rods that are fused to my spinal column on each side. It's a risk that I'm not willing to take. I admire the guys that do that though!

    • @GabrielMartinsFitness
      @GabrielMartinsFitness 6 років тому +1

      Calvin Cooley totally understandable, it's really a case to case thing! Good luck my man wish you the best of gains

    • @calvincooley1074
      @calvincooley1074 6 років тому

      Gabriel Martins I'm injured at the T4 (nipple line) level. Most of the guys that do the Smith Machine pulls are generally injured at the Lumbar level and have a great deal of trunk control.

    If i could only do one excercise, it would be pull-up/chin-up or deadlift. With all the variations, you more or less got your whole body covered. Then again... clean & jerk with pull-ups/chinups would cover even more of your skeletal mudcles...
