mountaindog1 What is the strength size of the resistance band for the pull-ups?
Good morning my friend from corfu Greece!!!!!!!
If we don't have the hammer in our gym
Hey John!! I usually start my pull day with a wide grip pull up (without the band). I can only do 6-7 reps. Does this mean it would be better to use assistance or is 6 reps still good for hypertrophy?
I workout out back and had a captain America shirt on today too! Talk about synchronicity. Mine didn’t look as good on me though haha
Looking at this makes me sad now cause hes not here anymore to give us the knowledge. But his legacy will always be with us and we have these videos to always look back on for knowledge. We love you john. Rest in power man.
he died?
@@yomamaballsinmyw yup
😔❤️ we lift u john
I fucking miss him man 😔
No way he died?!? Been watching his videos for a year now, sad to hear. Anyone know how? RIP
I absolutely love Meadows Style of teaching he's so chilled and laid-back but the info is gold
Even though John has left us, he's still here helping us all. Great legacy on UA-cam.
How great to see husband and wife working out together
Relationship/Marriage goals brah. ❤️🙏🏻
There are some great bodybuilding and strength training channels on UA-cam, but I honestly think yours is easily the most educational. Learn a new exercise almost every video I watch, and I'm no noobie. Brilliant channel.
thank you!
5:50 made me laugh "you are going to be sore tomorrow", after realizing what he just said "...your lats are going to be sore tomorrow", hilarious

I "instantly" went to the remarks to see how soon someone else posted that lol.

The captain America shirt suits you well! ✌️💪
Awesome videos John, great to see you and Mary training together, me and my wife train together and it's so cool to help each other out.
I know everyone says this all the time, but I seriously like all the videos you post before I even watch them, after the intro of your videos, all the time. Incredibly high quality in all of your videos coach 💪
thank you - Im trying to just post solid stuff...no gimmicks
The last exercise worked best for me personally. I gotta remember to keep tension on the lats as I’m on the stretch portion of the rep as opposed to just letting the weight pull my arms and collapse my shoulders, makes a night a day difference for me. After the set it felt like my shoulders were sitting on stilts haha, I’ve never felt that kinda pump before. Also, on a side note, you can tell you’re a good husband, encouraging the Mrs constantly and giving commendation, and you’re very patient, very solid of you. Love it. Awesome video of many, keep up the good work 👌🏻
Dog you're a positive influence on here. Keep banging the iron. We are listening and watching. Thank you sir!
Best fitness/bodybuilding channel on youtube.

You give me always ispiration or, at least, a different point of view. Thanks a lot for this video. From Italy
I love banded chins, one of my favourite exercises that has been essential for building my back, which is now possibly my best body part, as well as improving my pullups; now I can do 12 or 13 when I could only do 1 or 2 last year! Love you john
Just done this exact workout the way you showed, order and all, minus the chin ups. Only have 30 minutes so I smashed through it. Had to save the other 30 that I had for cardio. Thanks for the great content as always.
you bet!
John you are an absolute machine
Definitely incorporating these into my back workout tonight

Paramore in the background. Perfect music for back day lol
The Chuck Norris of the gym. He goes to the gym to train the machines. Great seeing Mary. She looks buffed.

Excellent recipe for big upper! Thanks so much

10:00 man was breaking the sound barrier
That thumbnail😂😂the little guy is watching in the midle
What is the name brand of the last attachment you are using?
Just one of the greatest casually showing us how to get a back, all
The while having to listening to the worst playlist ever. John Meadows…just another level entirely. Seriously every time I go back to his videos I learn something or remember something I shouldn’t have forgotten.
Thank you!
Mountaindog1 try the chin ups without crossing your feet, just hold them together and make a 1-2 seconds pause at the top...
any alternative for the hammer pull-down machine ???
Great video as always mr Mountaindog1 :)
so many different kinds of machines you can use to simulate..what kind of machines do you have at your gym?
Maybe an impulse escalate lat pulldown machine? Like the one in this picture goo.gl/images/jErzuB
not many machines for the back really :D
Just cables for pulldowns and seated rows and a hammer row machine
I love the HAMMER iso wide lat machine! As a paraplegic (see my channel if you would please) this IS my all time favorite back machine. Some machines work great for me and some are more of a workout just to get on or off of. I also love pull ups & chinups! It's been a long time since I've done any because I need to arrange a man on each side to lift me up to the bar and to get me down.
Calvin Cooley awesome dude! Just a question because I've seen people doing this on my gym: have you ever tried doing the pull ups on a Smith machine? That way you can set the height
Gabriel Martins I've though about it but my concerns would be the extra weight of my chair pulling my spine in an awkward direction and damaging the Harrington rods that are fused to my spinal column on each side. It's a risk that I'm not willing to take. I admire the guys that do that though!
Calvin Cooley totally understandable, it's really a case to case thing! Good luck my man wish you the best of gains
Gabriel Martins I'm injured at the T4 (nipple line) level. Most of the guys that do the Smith Machine pulls are generally injured at the Lumbar level and have a great deal of trunk control.
Seeing that band not snap gives me hope
You remind me so much of John Kemper of Diamond Gym. I was wondering if you've ever heard that before
yep
For a Beachbody competition later this year, should we focus on lower reps+heavy or higher reps+light, or a combination of both?
É um excelente canal , mas , é preciso tradução em português (BRASIL) . Obrigado.
Love the videos man ... hey man I bought some bands to help me do pull-ups.. but my bands suck.. what kinda bands do you use bro .. what brands or size work with that
Where do you get them back grips/handles from????
Great Tips. Now, we don't have a machine like for the third exercise, i think it's called a hammerstrenghth machne. What can i do to substitute this? Rack Chins or high kneeling latpulls at a cable station?
rack chins with a heavy stretch
Why a massive stretch on the pull down machine and not a full stretch to the bottom on the chin-ups?
He was great the best r.i.p
i feel like my lats are soar after watching this video
I used to use a strap on one hand and wrapped my hand around the seat and kill it. I have an unusually strong upper back.
Hey john great video! What kind of straps are you using? Never seen them before
elitefts.com
You are awesome. I like your workouts and you put me to shame.
Lol. I hit like when he said hi👍💪
:)
That Captain America T shirt though 😍
Great video as always, but who on earth at that gym thought that Ed Sheeran would be good training music? 😂🧀🧀
If i could only do one excercise, it would be pull-up/chin-up or deadlift. With all the variations, you more or less got your whole body covered. Then again... clean & jerk with pull-ups/chinups would cover even more of your skeletal mudcles...
What kind of straps are those?
Anyone know which band and how much weight the band is rated at?
He knew about lengthened partials way back when
what brand is the band?
elitefts
John when you come down shouldnt your arms be fully extended thus pulling your lats out for that stretch or is that the correct way of doing it? Ive always struggled with this movement.. 😞
i like to very it - generally what I do is the deeper I get in the workout, and the more pumped the muscle is, the more I go full range and even extreme stretch
Mary is IFBB ready! 👍
