Creole but my family never taught me the language unfortunately, visiting next year and I want to be as fluent as possibly so thank you for these videos!
Bonjou Diamond my husband is from St. Lucia and I want to learn Patois to be able to speak with him more in his native language and to understand what he says when he’s speaking with his friends and family. I really appreciate this introduction video and look forward to learning more from you!
Bonjour (bonjou) means good morning/ good day!! I’m Haitian from Haiti 🇭🇹 the similarities between Haitian Creole and St. Lucian creole is astonishing! 🤯🤯🤯 My crush is from St Lucia🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much for your video it has been very helpful, being of dual nationality 🇱🇨🇬🇧 and living in a very small town in Kent. It’s been very hard to learn! Have picked up words here and their when I meet with my family here and back home! However I have found so many talented 🇱🇨 singers and artists across many Genres! And are singing in Kwéyòl it has motivated me to learn it, dream being able to hold a conversation with my Dad!! God bless you all
Because its basically the same language just different words. Its the same with english when you go to other countries. The same language but some words are different
Just found your channel, I'm was born in London to lucian patents, they didn't teach us patois and I want to learn so bad. So thank you for your channel.
Great channel I meet so many people here in the U.K. of St Lucian heritage who were never taught Creole….I have some friends whose parents forbid them from learning it. I was lucky that I grew up in a house where both English and Creole were spoken, so I’m fluent in both. Wish you every luck on your journey to learn it, it’s a wonderful, descriptive language, you’ll enjoy it.
I returned home from St. Lucia a few weeks ago. I wish I would have seen this video before I went :) I love the island and the people so much. I miss it and can’t wait to go back!
I found this video very helpful, thank you!! My girlfriends mother side is from St Lucia and her grandmother still lives there. I would like to speak the language to her the next time I visit and see her. My girlfriend doesn't have the patience to teach me lol.
My granny is Dominican but her St Lucian friend always use to greet her with "sa ou fair" spelling is off and "sa ou "was said as if 1 word, also for good afternoon they always seem to say bo apremidi, but the St Lucian was from Canariee so maybe they use different words, still very nice video
Hi to know that Simon ...greetings to your granny! 🥰 sometimes depends on which part of st lucia we are from, we say certain things differently but we understand each other though😅
Ive been visiting yearly since 2009 and yet unable to carry a conversation. Even though i insist that persons in-house use more kweyol when addressing me theres still constant english. I'm looking now for a pdf for the Kweyol Dictionary to get more familiar with some words. Can you help please? Many thanks
Good job with your video. For good afternoon did you forget it's bon apwe medi not sure if I spelled it right. Or is it the older folks that normally use it.

Tifi/ Madam ou garday telma Belle et du! Hey George 👋 hope all is well, I have not been well hence the late response. BTW there are many different ways to say this same thing, it depends on the circumstances, who you are addressing and also how you want the person to feel about your statement. Lol. Creole is very strange and complicated at times..
@@diamondsinspirations9179 My Beautiful St. Lucian Sister thank you so much! I want to say it to a gorgeous St. Lucian Sister here on St. Croix in the U. S. Virgin Islands. I'm very sorry Lady Diamond you wasn't feeling well.

I think that because there is no real structure to the language it is differs from family to family
I was taught [ bon après-midi for good afternoon]
Yessss you are absolutely right Monti Gireauxe! It has no structure at all. It can be a bit tricky but also quite fun!
Its because bonjou (or bonjour from french) means good morning but it also means good day.
