- This is a really rough, rubbish (much like big steve's tactics) little video but i wanted to comemorate the worst manager in englands history with a beautifull little montage video showcasing his lack of tactics and colgate smile!
The opening ten seconds of this sum up England fans perfectly.
Does the manager really have to teach the Goal keepers to catch the ball? Its funny that everyone puts the blame on him, where as the players are mediocre at best
In the loss against Croatia I think the players should take 100% responsibility especially for the first goal. I don't understand how it's the manager's fault.

@@r4h4al But he should have played Robinson in goal, Wes Brown at centre back, Ashley Cole at left back, started Beckham (this was the first time he started on the bench for England since the 1998 World Cup) and also started Defoe and played a 4-4-2

We can't blame him for Robinson's blunders, but we can blame him for his complete tactical ineptitude. 4-4-2? Carson? Crouch? BECKHAM? No Carrick? For God's sakes how does this man still have a job?
Agree. You could make any argument for Bent, Defoe, Lennon, Paul Robinson and Carrick all starting the Croatia game.
The formation was ineffective too. Perhaps a 3232 would have been better
Hopefully the new manager will give caps to pennant and recall carragher under the promise that he will actually be used!
For al those complaining that McClaren wasn't 'truly' English, I think it worth pointing out that some England players have Irish ancestry: Gerrard, Cahill, Barry, Rooney, Aaron Lennon. And Paul Scholes was part-Scottish.

That's true. Robinson failing to hold a shot in Moscow which he should have done, and then probably the biggest howler I've ever seen by an England goalkeeper; Carson against Croatia; that shot should never have got past him.
The McClaren era was awful, but the humour that came out of it was priceless....
I know pretty much all the goals we conceded were mistakes. For non England fans it must have been hilarious.
Do you know what? The Scots would give us a game for the first time since 1996. With Mclaren in charge you would have beaten us but so would Azerbijan.
The bad loop of the music gave me a headache.
He did a horrible job as the england manager, but at least he admitted he sucked. (sort of...)

Well we had Sven who was a decent coach for us. Three QF's; two of which only going out on penalties.
1. You supporting United doesn't validate your views on Gerrard and Lampard.
2. Beckham is one of a handful of England players that wears his heart on his sleeve and will cry, sweat and bleed for that England shirt (albeit he plays in a different continent and is perhaps way past his prime)
3. Spain winning the Euros is a matter of the the coach finally picking "in form" players rather than big names. The same goes for England.
McClaren asked the English fans & press to judge him on 'results'. If I was him I'd have asked them to judge me on something like 'how's my driving skills', or punctuality or something totally unrelated to football which involved the English football team.

Pennant hasn't reached his poterntial yet, i think that his ability will grow.
Also, Fabio had better not fuck owen around, he had better play him and allow him to get 50 goals, remember what taylor did to lineker? Taylor is a prick!
Another player that could have played in the qualifiers after his fantastic season in the CL with Liverpool.

To be fair England do have the players but every manager play the top named players not the top form players. Rooney is shit for England but everyone worships him. Crouch plays score's then gets dropped what up with that picture??

I'll put my hands up; it was a sly dig... in all honesty, Scotland with McClaren in charge of England would have seen us get embarassed as the Scots were flying at the time... now it would be a close one...
As for Liam, and anyone else with his simplistic mindframe, have a think about what year we're living in before posting stupid comments, and bang your thick skull against a wall a bit in search for common sense.

he's not a bad manager but he took the job way before he was ready.
and i personally think if he'd put James in goal england would of made it because robinson had a breakdown in confidence and why he ever put carson in is beyond me.
Because Robinson had a breakdown and Carson had played and kept a clean sheet against Austria just before this game.

Prob the worst England manager ever. No charisma, no leadership qualities, boring usual cliched answers in his interviews. The guy is just so bland. Im sure he's a lovely guy but should never have been England manager.
