Agreed, bringing what is inside our own musical minds into the outside world is the best! When I have used tools like Melody Sauce in the past(I didn't do this here), it has been to instigate ideas or variations that I may not have thought of. Then- take that, borrow, refine, and/or completely transform it. I think in that way it's kind of similar to what we are constantly doing by absorbing the music of artists that inspire us and give ideas, but perhaps this is more utilitarian. . This tool was useful in the case of this video, as I didn't plan to spend a lot of time composing for the purpose of test-driving ACE. Most of my writing happens more organically in the way you are speaking of, but I do find instances where these kinds of tools are useful, and they help me think outside of my own box of tricks.
as I was watching this vid I was already creating variations of this melody in my head. It triggered the inspiration. Now, AI will create its own full songs.. and very catchy ones I assure you, but I think we will still feel the need to create. Many people, myself included, hear melodies in bed, in the shower, but haven't been able to dedicate themselves to the craft of musicianship for one reason or another. I think AI is going to have a democraitizing effect for music creation, at least at first.
@@simpsonelli Dude, in the beginning of the video, showing yourself is fine. But in the tutorial, only your voice is needed without an image that blocks part of the screen space that is full with important details.
Only video I have seen where someone is trying out the vocal generation from scratch rather than having ACE convert their own voice, needed to know if it could do it, so, cheers!
@@simpsonelli I am not sure about you, but I can't sing for donkey's balls LOL. Apparently it can fix that even for someone as bad as me. I have always relied on hiring session vocalists and as awful as it sounds to replace them with AI, current budgetary constraints make the idea very appealing as it's only for my own songs which I don't do anything with or even try to as I am one of those people that just wants to live in my own bubble and enjoy my own music. I did it ONCE in the late 90's with two songs I entered into an undiscovered EDM artist competition with Warner Music, and I won - and when I heard my song at a club for the first time, I hid around the corner, couldn't deal with it, my heart thumping. The thing is, sure, they made a compilation and my track was the title track, but to this day I am in negative royalty. I don't have to actually pay them anything but I get constant cheques of nothing every few months. It really did a number on me even 2 decades later, so now I just compose for pleasure, but it's expensive to get singers. Very expensive.
Thanks for sharing your story! I think these voices would be fine in a lot of cases, for background vocal use. Not as much for lead... thanks for checking it out and for chiming in too!
what if it could be real time - you connect phone app to a microphone / pa then when you are gigging / busking it changes the bad audio you are singing into good singing live
Yes, but it's nowhere near as good at rendering convincing vocals. This tech is moving fast and there will be more coming, which will be great for all of us.
You can do a free trial, then it's some kind of subscription just like everything else seems to be these days! Someone else on here said to check out Synthesizer V for a plugin kind of version of this. I've yet to check it out though...
interesting, but does anyone notice how much time and effort this takes? Doing an entire song so it sounds good would take many hours! After one song I would be missing having a singer come in an nail it in a few takes. And sound better. Seems a bit silly to spend the time to get something robotic and dull. Would you pay a vocalist to do these vocals you’ve completed? I think you would kick them out of the studio first! Lol. Thanks for your work, it’s got a long way to go, and I’ll probably always prefer the fluidity of real vocals.
I find the topic of artificial intelligence incredibly fascinating, and it's amazing to see how AI is impacting so many aspects of our lives! On my own channel, I create music entirely produced by artificial intelligence, it's so interesting to see what AI can do! 🎵✨
love how melody sauce totally flaked out here and just didn't come up with anything even slightly usable .... I think our jobs as trad / old school producers and writers are safe
Every voice sounds Chinese, nothing against them, some of my best friends are Chinese :) I just don't want a Chinese voice on my songs. I like to hear the letter L etc
As a fellow musician - i URGE you - ABANDON AI COMPLETELY - This WILL be the death of many cut´s (no pun int.) - you are DESTROYING the art of human music - with this FLIRTING with AI ! - Its LAZY - Its uncool - im NOT impressed - and you REALLY need to think this one over - like REALLY think this one over !
And like the Luddites who were violently opposed to new machinery in the British wool industry in the 1800's. This 10 minute result is not great, but 100 FAST reiterations could make something...It is a tool.
A usable tool I guess but it brings to mind a Phil specter quote... "are we in a hurry or do we have time to use a computer"
another great one - you're kicking out some awesome content!
Aw thanks Paul, I really appreciate the kind words!
Am I the only one who became a musician because of the melodies 24/7 in my head that must set free? A AI Melody maker? why????

no ones stopping us doing both... this can also help you overthink your music. :D

As a geek, I love this. As a music creator, I hate it : )

Glad it helped. Yah I didn't try it on my own voice, curious to try that too!

Thanks for the demo. Since you have already opted to part with your details to try for 15 days, what is the cost after that period?
Google says 22 bucks a month/149 a year for ACE

Better to consider Synthizer V, which runs both as a standalone app or VST/AU plugin in your DAW
Ahh....good to know!! It's definitely a workflow block with this one, having to jump between DAW's. I'll check that one out, thanks!

Being a Producer on a budget these days is like being a child again in the candy store ;-)
I heard you say Chinese software, and I had to run 😂😂😂

amazing but it sings like its reading ore mani its the bpm its to slow ore the melody saus is to robotic

One step closer to Sharon Apple... If you know you know...
Eddie Van Halen was light years ahead of Ai.
The pleasure of creation ? faster but not better
Can't you make a melody yourself ?

It's also not very good at 'St' sounds either. Still, it's early days for AI vox and much better is going to come.
Sorry but this is exactly what is wrong with "music creation" these days. Zero talent or creativity required.
do you ever use your brain ? oh the robots do.....
It still sounds robotic.
What's with the constant slurping of your saliva FFS
This AI stuff is always very impressive when you're generating random stuff, but if you need something the slightest bit specific, it's useless.
There are going to be so many absolutely mediocre songs flooding in 🤦♂️😂
lazy , uncool , and the death of human arts - by many small cuts ! Shame shame shame ,-
