    Hudswell Clarke 1208 ‘Illingworth’
visiting from Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway thanks to Stately trains

So why not come along and enjoy Industrial locos working hard up the Gradients on this World Heritage site Railway. Plenty of trains to ride on.
A Big Thank You to all the Staff and Volunteers for their help in making this video.

I just couldn't help myself, I may not be able to do it in the future, and with perfect conditions like this, I just had to do it.

Beautiful, as usual, Robert. I saw you went back to mountain climbing, but the shot was well worth it. I liked Jessie's whistle, too.

As I've said a few times recently, it's getting more and more difficult to do these stiff climbs, but on a day like this, I just had to do it, as the chances don't offer themselves very often. Thanks again for your support....Regards...Bob

There are not many preserved lines in the UK that have gradients like the P&BR...well worth a visit.

Fantastic video again Bob! You've got quite the zoom on that camera too! Particularly loved the shot at 11:18. It's funny being in front of the camera for a change! Thanks for filming such a great record of the event, and looking forward to seeing you again soon. :)

a very pleasant day in the Valleys (or on the hills above the Valleys.) Illingworth/Harold is an interesting engine ; Walschaerts valve gear on an industrial is not so common.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, thanks Bob. Liberal inclusion of people and what they have to say adds a great deal to your videos. What a rare pleasure to see the gentleman at 02:30 consciously avoid walking into your shot! Interesting and atmospheric locations throughout and some impressive clag, particularly at 11:10. Your shot at 14:20 admirably illustrates the gradient: I don't often use the word 'amazing' but it's wholly appropriate here! Kind regards, Bob.

@@robmasterman I didn't realise it was so high. I think the highest standard gauge railway near me will be the line between Stockport and Buxton between Dove Holes and Buxton. Not a place I associate with warmth and sunshine.

What a lovely day for the P&BR gala Bob, and you certainly matched it with some wonderful clips! One thing I love about this line is the way it seems to get better with each gala, and there's no hiding place with the sharp gradients, and the locos have to go for it which is a great sight to see. The locos were in great condition and "Harold" is an unusual little loco having 6 coupled wheels and external walchaerts valve gear, unusual for an industrial loco. Was it formerly employed in Wales? The view near the end from the top of the hill was both unusual and spectacular - a fitting end to your video. Did you manage the next day? I noticed you've uploaded a photoshoot vid and a 40s vid on the WSR, I've still to watch them, but I will eventually get around to them. Best wishes from Ken

It's been a very busy weekend for my Ken, I was doing the Gala on Friday, down to the WSR on Saturday, a Model Show at Weston-Super-Mare on Sunday, finally the Photo Charter at the P&BR yesterday.
'Illingworth' is only one of two locos built to this design, which made servicing so much easier. She was used at Ebbw Vale for a construction Company, and has seen service all over the UK.
Thanks as always for your kind and supportive comments Ken, like you I'm behind with my viewings and comments, but hopefully will catch up before too long...Best wishes...Bob
