Add Post To Your Story Missing / Not Working On Instagram

- The feature to add a post to your story has had some bugs in the past. We've gotten complaints that it's missing or not working properly. In this video, we'll cover a variety of reasons why the button may be not showing or simply broken and what you can do to fix it. The ideas here will walk you through the settings and steps needed to reset Instagram so it's working properly again. This works on both iPhone and Android.

They changed the way you can add post to story.
1) Click on the story in the top left
2)Take a picture
3) Click the stickers button (smiley face that’s slightly peeled)
4)Click “reshare” it looks like this 🔁
5)Click on the recent post you’ve viewed or click on the saved post.

Is there a way to get back that option instead of going to story clicking create then ‘reahare’ post and creating it that way far too long.
I don't understand why they went to complicate things. It was so easy to share posts on stories before.

I had this happen to me today and this is how I fixed it,
1. went to gallary to share a post to my story.
2. Shared it and after you pull up to the section which allows you to create polls, add music etc. there should be a "reshare" option.
3. Click it, it should allow you to repost your recently views items so if you need to just have a complete black background or whatever...
P. S. It could probably be achieved within the app as well. So just go and view / interact with what you want to repost and you should be able to achieve it 😁

@@HassanAli-ps1ry for some people, I made a quick fake account and that can share to story, some of my other friends still have it in the same area but it looks like they slowly implementing this because people had this months ago and I personally only received it yesterday

okay so is instagram going to ever fix this issue?😭 It’s been 3 weeks and my “add to story” icon has been missing on my main page but on my hair page it’s still there! so hate the new reshare option. I hope they go back to normal soon
Weird it's showing up on one page and not the other. I assume same phone and same app? Is one a business/creator account and the other is a personal account? Maybe that's the cause.

I cannot share a post as a story still after trying offload app
I figured it out I think it’s a new update for some people here’s how the update works
1. Open the app and swipe as if you’re posting a story
2. Click on create
3. Click on the squared smiley face in the middle of the screen
4. Click RESHARE 🔁

I figured it out, they updated the app but you can still do it, go to your story where you take a photo, take A picture (tip the pics gonna be the background of the post so if you want cover ur camera to make the background black) and then press the smiley face and there should be a option that says “reshare”

I did this and unfortunately it did not work for me so I also deleted the app and re-download it.
I still however cannot get the words shared a story on my Instagram videos the menu only says “create group”. Is there something else I can try?

You swipe right as if ur going to take a picture press create on the left press the square smiley face then choose reshare then you’ll be able to repost any post

Step 1: click add to my story
Step 2: click ‘Aa create’
Step 3: click the square smiley face top middle
Step 4: type ‘reshare’ into the search bar that appears
Step 5: click the reshare icon
Step 6: choose the post you want to share (it should show you your recently seen posts)
