- Good morning! I hope that you guys are doing well and ready to sit back and enjoy this week's video. If you've been following my newsletter, then you know I went to the Beyoncé concert in Detroit Michigan last week with my sister Tara. We had an amazing time exploring the downtown area, and of course lost our minds at the concert. Lucky for you - I captured every moment and I can't wait for you guys to see it. For those that have been asking for a full GRWM (get ready with me) video - this is the video for you as I walk you through each step of my routine. If we would let our spirit/soul guide us...be playful and plan our best life...this would be a great template. Nothing brings us together like music...nothing touches us so deeply so fully and soulfully! This was the bomb diggity! Growing up during my formative years in Flint, Michigan meant having access to Detroit! Man, when it was on and poppin...there was no better place to be...Back in the day...Baker's Keyboard Lounge, the 20 Grand, Cobo Arena and of course MOTOWN...Detroit was a destination!...until...Chrysler went bust and the auto world was in free fall...It was then that Detroit crashed and burned...BUT, like a Phoenix rising from the ashes...Scratching and clawing Detroit started to reclaim its depth of character! And this clip of your phenomenal visit is another feather in the Motor City's CAP! If Beyonce thinks it's a spot to stop and kick it, who in the world could disagree! I loved everything about this one Jessica! EVERYTHING! Boss move! And I was going to ask you to hit me up with your playlists! LOL but I see you were already on it! No surprise there!
I love this so much!!! 🥰 It was really amazing to see Detroit in a different light. Much different than when I used to go back in college. Detroit has been through it - much like Cleveland and it makes me so happy to see how it has reclaimed its name. There’s so much soul still there - which is not often true when a city/neighborhood goes through a revitalization. I can’t wait to go back because we only scratched the surface of what Detroit has to offer. So glad you enjoyed the video!!!!!
I’m a Detroiter, currently living in Phoenix which is where I saw the RWT. I’m so glad you enjoyed my city, it’s made tremendous strides in terms of appeal and overall attractions. I absolutely loved Detroit and was so happy to see how resilient the city and its people are. I will be going back in a few weeks to do some more exploring and I can’t wait! Reliving that experience was something I will never forget. Not only does Detroit now have a place in my heart but the concert was EPIC x100. I will definitely visit again and can't wait for the next city to see QUEEN B 👑

Oh my goodness.....the places you went to in Detroit are the exact places I went to on my first trip to Detroit. I can't wait to see Beyonce! I am struggling with what to wear. I will also take options lol!

You absolutely should. We were so surprised with how much it has changed. So much to do and so many restaurants - we had such a great time. And thank you!!!! I really wanted to wear the off the shoulder top, but in the end it was practical for all of the dancing we did!

I never thought I would be one to do my makeup on camera - but here I am and I’m so glad that you enjoyed it! 😆 I have to be honest - I am super lazy when it comes to my hair but for the concert I had planned to do something different with it. I put it up in a bun to dry and do my makeup - but then as you saw, I ran out of time. I used to wear my curls out all the time….but now I’m just so lazy with it. 😩
I love that you went to Detroit that is on my list for one of my solo trips! That hotel would be right up my alley. I love that you were so excited for B I’ve heard that her shows are an experience.

Hello Jessica my my my you make this well lived life look easy you are such a beautiful soul enjoying life to the fullest , I’m so happy for you your sister and friends for such an amazing experience and good time 🎉❤ I sent this video to my daughter in law because she’s from Michigan & I was there for the first time in April we went to downtown and the river walk which was nice but I somehow feel cheated 😂 can’t wait to see what’s next with you keep living well beautiful and yes all of you girls were stunning !!

I always wondered how you did your top bun! What do you put in it to lay it down? Also, I've been a Fenty foundation girlie but umm...lemme go check out this Lancome. Would you say this GRWM makeup routine (before the lashes & eye shadow) is your "everyday" look or more for events, etc.?
How did I miss your comment?!! So glad you enjoyed the video! I use SexyHair holding gel - it’s in my Amazon storefront and it’s the best. Your hair will NOT move! In regards to the GRWM - I would say that I definitely applied more than I typically do. My regular everyday is a light application of foundation, a little blush, and mascara. Always mascara, lol!! And that’s about it. If I’m filming, or plan to go out for an event or something - I’ll add in the concealers, setting powders, and eyeshadow! Hope this helps!
I wear the same shade as Jessica, yes Lancôme Tient Idole (sp) has been my go-to for a few years now! The finish on it is flawless.
