The vocalist is Lovisa Nyström from Two White Horses(good times are gone forever) and David Sandström plays drums in hardcore legends Refused apart from his solo career.
This was recorded in Umeå Sweden. As some of you know that's where Refused came from.
This group band together when the theater/comedy group Klungan are out on tours and play some songs between their skits. I don't know wether they play otherwise too.
I have seen them play this song twice. First time I somehow recognized it but could not place it.
Afterwards I realized what song it was and was thrilled!

I would however guess they are all musicians that happen to come from the same place. The girl on guitar for instance not playing on this song) is Jenny from Sahara Hotnights.

Thanks for calling me a moron. Well, I listen to my Swedish, Danish and Norwegian friends, speak a few other languages (and was raised around plenty more) - emotion is something you can read across languages.
Jeff Tweedy sings a hopeful song, and this one bears little resemblance to it. This version is technically very good, they have beautiful voices, but it just sounds like a dirge to me.
You can like it, no problem with that, just isn't to my taste that's all :)

amazing!! Can anyone tell me how close to the original lyrics this is ( not that it matters). What a way to strip down the original version to make something possibly even more powerful. Piano player deserves high marks for playing in between the silences so masterfully

Lovisa Nyström...a magnificent woman if ever there was one. No disrespect to Säkert what-so-ever, but all of the concert videos I enjoy most are the ones with Lovisa doing backup vocals for her. Lovisa is many times the artist that Säkert will ever be. A voice so lovely, she could read the newspaper to me for hours on end and I would never get tired of hearing her. And absolutely drop-dead gorgeous on top of it all. If I was rich today, tomorrow I would give her 1 million dollars to make her own album. Yep...I'm a 43yr old fanboy. HA ha.

If you want to truly hear the magnificence of this lady's voice, listen to Säkert's "Isarna" live from debaser (video on youtube as well). You will see Säkert completely unorganized...constantly fighting with her earpieces and adjusting volumes the whole show, off cue, off key, and picking stuff out of her hair the whole time. Then...the main chorus there is Lovisa carrying the entire show with that beautiful voice. The difference in quality of their voices is WORLDS apart. There is no contest...Säkert should be singing backup for her.

It's incredibly beautiful, no doubt about that.
But I don't like it. The Wilco version works because despite it stands between hope and despair. It's a love song, and holds the promise that love brings.
I just can't hear that here. All I can hear is loss and lack.
(I don't speak Swedish though, but I don't think that is the problem)
