This is an awesome system, I just bought a new 2015 Ram 2500 6.4 Crew Cab 4X4 and had a new Western Ultramount 7 1/2' Pro Plow with this feature installed on my Ram truck and now I don't have to chain up my plow anymore when its not in use and off the truck.

We cleared the unknown code and put another one in, all the lights did what they were supposed to. Turned on vehicle, turned on control... On button just flashes and nothing works???? HELP!!
Service where we bought it, unresponsive!

If your plow is put away, are you sure it's safe and secure? With the Security Guard feature, you can rest easy.

WESTERN Snowplows I'm not understanding. Once the code is made the plow still works when the truck and plow turn off and on again? Is it possible that the codes needs to be entered in order to use it? And if someone simply pushes 2222, 3333 then the code is disabled? How does that protect it from being used? I have 3 western plows but I'm not seeing how the code is effective? Maybe I'm missing something

SALES PLOY and in my opinion , a Joke !!
It sure as hell is not going to stop someone from stealing your plow !!
First off; the thief does not know it has the module locked
second: all they have to do is put a new module for $200 in and off they go !!
or they can punch in the bypass code
third: the code is on the plow module, so they can easily steal the controller
SO !! Save the chains !!

bammbammfran Interesting theory! What if the code was entered for the controller, which locks both the controller and the plow... Plus you removed the controller and the chains. That’d make it where no one could steal it.

i have a wideout XL. 1050 lbs. if i left the plow in it's spot and drove my truck home with the controller, it leaves the thief a few options. load the plow manually onto a trailer, which could be done with 3-4 guys or maybe he's driving around with a bobcat? or he could hook up his western mount to my plow and push the plow, dragging on the ground where ever he is going which might draw some unwanted attention. not sure what you mean by "module". like the thief buys a new controllers? that won't change anything. the thief buys a new computer and goes up to my plow and gets out his tools and takes the guts apart and puts in a new computer? ok, i'll take my chances. part of the reason i bought a western is they aren't very popular in my area. a thief playing the odds would have a boss mount on his truck as they own 90% of the market here. it's very simple effective deterrent that i feel will stop a crime of opportunity.

To get a new module you have to give them the serial number for the plow. The plow would not be registered to them.
