    Is the headroom in the upper deck (bathroom/bedroom) the same as say the Eagle HT 29.5? The Eagle is tight for my 6’2 height but the basement of the Open Range seems shorter so maybe more headroom Above?

      Haven't tape measured it. ANY fifth wheel in this size/category is going to similar, however. Whether it's a Cougar Half Ton, one of these Open Range Ultra or Lights, an Eagle HT, etc.
      Best recommendation is to visit one in person and try it on like a pair of pants. I often refer to our dealership as our "dressing room" for this very reason. Sometimes you just need to see how it fit you until the lights, ya'know?

    Love your videos very informative. I think I would prefer the outside storage of the Jayco but my wife likes the inside storage of this. Is funny how I can never find an all encompassing coach that has everything exactly how you want it so you really have to decide what you think is more beneficial. Would be my first purchase of an RV do you think on something this size we would need the second AC? I am also 6'4 and a big guy would the shower be too small.

      A/C needs vary by region, but generally speaking it’s rare to see one this size needing a Second air (though a few people prefer it). The thermal package on an Open Range plus a 15k air should be sufficient.
      As soon as something has a bed slide we prefer to add that second air

    What is the difference between this and the Mesa Ridge Lite 2950BH?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 років тому

      They're essentially the same. Don't let someone tell you otherwise. Open Range has a grey color palette while mesa ridge has a tan color palette. That's about it.
      It USED to be "Open Range" was the "up line," while "Mesa Ridge" was their attempt to make a more affordable open range, but it didn't quite work out. So, they changed things up and built everything exactly like the open range, but kept the Mesa name for existing dealers.

      Haylett RV Thanks. I really like this Open Range but can't decide if I like this seating or the regular dinette/recliner seating.

    It strikes you every time? Man, that's gotta hurt. Listen Josh, I know that you're tall, but surely you can duck... lol Awesome video, as usual.

      I didn't get to where I am in life by being smart, Jacob. So jot THAT down in your little book... ;)

    Can you guys start carrying ATC toy haulers? I would love to see Josh do a video of those. :)

    I just did the math, 40 lbs of propane is 168 gallons. A gallon of propane (not including the cylinder) is 4.2 lbs. First Highland Ridge aka Open Range I've seen that the off door basement storage door isn't hinged from the bottom. Not a complaint, just an observation. Can we say cousin to Jayco Eagle HT 29.5BHDS... The big party couch looks like they took it right out of their Highlander...
    I would like the opinions of the subscribers here, which storage is better, inside like in this and its sister the Light or outside under bunks storage like Jayco Eagle HT 29.5BHDS? No wrong answer, just a poll. I like outside storage, because I pack outdoor game equipment IE: volleyball net and balls, cornhole boxes and bags, fishing poles and tackle boxes, a 2 person swing and collapsible A-frame for swing (the 2 person swing isn't a kids swing set, its a swing that g-ma and g-pa sit on to watch the grand kids), lawn darts, horse shoes. I pack all that, cause I'm a youth leader at my church and I bring outdoor games on our yearly camping trip.

      I would like to see more basement storage (vertical). Not sure which space you are referring to here David. Are you talking about the area where the outside kitchen is located or the drawer storage in the bunkhouse? You are correct that there is no wrong answer. Families with kids and kids' clothing would probably prefer the drawers in the closet. The drawers and hanging storage can store a lot of indoor and out door stuff. Personally I'd prefer out door storage over the out door kitchen. Just my preference. Now, a question for you; What church group would let you play lawn darts with their youth group? Talk about blood of the lamb... (Just kidding!!!)

      The kids in my youth group are ages 10-15. Lawn darts are safer than shooting clay pigeons (as the kids wanted) I told them that the darts will never be use inappropriately or else the camping trip will never happen again! So far so good...BTW I like lamb chops...

      40 lbs of propane is roughly 9.5 gallons. 168 gallons of propane would weigh a little over 705 lbs. I think you did your math backwards.
