I have the same Coffee Brewer. I’ve been a Braun coffee maker owner since I got married and bought a house. It brews awesome coffee. Just have to maintain it!
Very cool!
Thanks for this video. Braun’s instructions were not only incomplete, but a potential safety hazard. Your video filled in the missing information.
Glad it helped!
I followed your instructions to the letter. It worked perfectly! Great video. Exceptionally well explained. Thank you!
This is so useful, it works really well, thank you
Great video! Thank you and merry Christmas!
Never had these fancy coffee makers growing up. Bought one recently and had this Clean light glow up. Now I know what to do. Thanks dad!
Glad I could help!
Great vid, JAD! I just got the Clean light for the first time, gonna go get the vinegar today.
Let me know how it goes!!!
Thank you for the easy to follow video!
Thanks! I will get this white vinegar to clean my Coffee Maker, I have same braun!
Your welcome. Glad it helped. Thanks for watching
Thank you very much for your helpful video :)
Glad it was helpful!
I dump the used vinegar at room temperature then into my air conditioning condensate line. About once a month I believe does it for both AC and coffee machine!
Good video Dad. The coffee pot can also be cleaned using regular salt, ice cubes and lemon wedges, lemon wedges are optional. Use 1 cup of salt, 14 ice cubes and then swirl for two to three minutes and repeat if necessary. Then rinse coffee pots and let air dri and your good to go, no chemicals needed.
Thanks for the info! wow I have to try that. thanks so much I am with you the less chemicals the better. Thanks!!!!!
Been using the ice cubes and salt method to clean it for years.
Thank you!!! 😉
You're welcome 😊
Thank you!
You bet!
Great video, and it's the same coffee maker I have, so that is a bonus. Thank you!
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching!!!!
Good instructional video. I do have one question - this is in regard to cleaning my Braun KF7370 (a similar model). Basically my question is in regard to your suggestion on initial cleaning with distilled white vinegar. Do you recommend running the first cleaning cycle by using just the vinegar - that is, straight vinegar without diluting it with a certain % of water? The Braun descaler agent instructions recommends using water with the agent although neither the Braun brand decaler instructions and the Braun coffee maker instructions do not provide recommendations as to how many parts descaler/vinegar to how many parts water. Odd - that no Braun company related instructions provide the measurements of water vs. desaler/vinegar - I just want to effectively clean the coffee maker [my clean light seems to reappear about one month after cleaning the coffee maker - seems to be a bit excessive]. . I note that you suggested using 3-4 cups of vinegar but didn't comment as to also adding water. So - should I just use vinegar for the first cleaning cycle? Thanks for responding.
Thanks for your kind words. The Distilled white vinegar I am using is fine to use full strength. You can if you want dilute it to 50% water. Running distilled white vinegar through it should give it a good cleaning at full strength.
Thanks for this video. Quick question is how often do you do this? Just when you see that clean light comes on?
At least 2tims a year
You can put black tape over the clean light to kind of make it look like it off, works best with people that need glasses.
I just purchased the exact Braun coffee maker and was wondering about the cover reservoir. Can you disassemble it someway to get to coffee grounds out?
Sorry it took so long to get back. I looked at mine and I just don't see a way to open that area up. There are 3 screw under the filter basket area where the coffee pot is but I would be afraid of what it might do. Thanks for watching!!!
Mine won't clean. I pressed clean then press brew abd it shuts off the clean button.
Does the charcoal filter need to be changed regularly? I haven’t ever done it…forgot that filter as even in there until watching you video.
Yes about every 2 months. you have to clean the filter before you install it. I made a video on it. ua-cam.com/video/1HFAOKT_lHU/v-deo.html
@@JustADad thanks so much, ordering now and subscribed! 🤩
@@beckytackett4468 Awesome!! Thanks for the sub!!!! Keep me updated!!!
If you have filtered water from your fridge you don’t need it. Those filters can get pricey you don’t need them. I use my fridge water.
I just tried again to unplug to get the ight off. No luck. Light stayed on. When I start the brew function it blinks 15 times and shuts off. Is starting the brew function the same as getting to descale mode?
yes hit the descale button then hit the brew button.
Hey. I have enjoyed your videos, as I have Braun coffee maker as well. However in this video, it has a clean level, so if you are using rescaling agent, (I use clr) you fill to that level.. it’s around the 2 cup mark inside. That little tab sticking out.
Thanks for the update. I was going to buy the Braun Descaling but it was kinda High. I looked on there website and found that you can use Vinegar. I will have to try the CLR. Does it work good and is it hard to clean out after you are done? Thanks again!!
@@JustADad it breaks down calcium ,lime and rust. That’s what CLR stands for. Works well.. rinse with 2-3 full pots of fresh water after.. no bad taste. As well CLR is non toxic.
@@davewme Thanks for the advice. I am going to try it and do a video on it. Thanks so much!!
Did you do half water half vinegar?
yes
What is the charcoal filter used for?
It helps with the taste of your water, if you water smells and taste like chlorine then it will help remove that. other than that it does not do a whole lot. You can just use filtered water or regular tap water is just fine.
@@JustADad should I keep it in when making my coffee?
@@Onajagirl yes, its there to filter the water before it gets heated by the coffee maker
which is the descale button?
it says clean
Have one of these was working fine, spent forever cleaning all afternoon , now it wont work, just say E01 on the screen
Dad, I cannot turn the clean button off! I tried everything you said but it will not turn off. I even called customer service and they suggested get a new one!! Help I need my coffee.
were you able to put it into descale mode?
My clean light stays on and does not flash. Brew light does not come on. Have descaling mixture in the pot.
how long since the last time you descaled. maybe try to brew the vinegar through it first on a normal brew. then run the clean mode.
I tried again. the brew light blinks 15 times and then goes off. Have I ruined the heating element?
No these coffee makers are really robust, do you push the clean button and then the brew button with vinegar in the water tank what happens?
@@JustADad clean light remains on. If the brew light goes on it only flashes 15 times and goes off. Most days it does not even go on.
@@ellenbush2214same thing here. Push the clean button, then brew then both brew and clean lights turn off. Did you find a fix?
I now tried the vinegar mixture. No luck. Again, my clean light is on, not blinking. Brew light does not stay on and does not brew.
were you able to put the machine into descale mode?
@@JustADad How does one put the machine into descale mode?
My clean light does not flash. It stays on.???
Were you able to descale it and did the light go out.?
Same here. Clean light stays on. does not flash. Will not brew even with descaling product.
When you power on, green light comes on. If you push green light, it starts to flash. Then when you’re ready, press brew button.
