This was a great thorough video ... but I’ve got a question. It looks like you may have built out your tiled wall by about a inch on the left to make this all fit properly, I’m having a 3/4 bath framed right now and wanted to have it framed at 8’ x 5’ but we have to go 5’5” due to other issues and I’m wondering how does one handle this to keep it looking proper; do you Center and build out on both sides or just the one side and are these showers made for exact 5’ wide finished if you don’t want to build out? Anxious to hear your reply! Thanks again!
Any problems with constant moisture sitting under the drain cover? We installed this about 2 years ago, and originally i loved the idea of having the drain hidden. But it has been a constant nightmare of "grunge" under that cover because it never dries. Im wondering if others have this problem, or we did something wrong?
I also have this problem, it gets gnarly in there, and I also feel like the drain cover suctions to the base and won't let water flow down unless I move it to release the suction effect. It's fine but it ends up feeling chinsy when it's supposed to be this trendy hidden drain thing.
Would you mind providing the exact width of your opening (tile to tile) please? Ove installation guide says you can trim the support bar, if your opening is slightly smaller. However, I am trying to determine how much overhang between the glass panels to expect.
Thanks for the review. What is your thought on screwing the water guard since the base and the water guard is not a single piece. Is there a problem of water leaks after few years. But, otherwise I am so inclined to buying this product.
Thank you for the video. Nice shower. Q. Did you put wet cement underneath the pan? Or was it installed right onto plywood floor? Just worried whether it will squeak or shift. Cheers
@@NorthernVikingExplorer Thanks. Did you pour that right over the plywood? I was told to put the pan on before it dried completely so as to have it snug to the bottom of the pan.
We installed this shower (OVE Carmel from Costco) 5 and a half years ago, and we are now running into a leak for the second time!!! Did you experience any leakage with the base?

Thanks for this review! I wish you'd filmed the installation, too, but I definitely appreciate this!
Do you have any issues with water getting in between the doors with the shower head spraying that direction ?
No, we haven't had any issues as there's a rubber seal there stopping it.
@@NorthernVikingExplorer thank you
Do you need special bit to drill through tile?
Yes you can buy special tile bits at the hardware store.

I bought the same shower kit and am about to install it. Where did you find a drain kit to fit the shower base? Good review and nice install.
Thank You! I picked up all the plumbing supplies and drain kit from Home Depot.

Mine has a 56” opening.. we’re you able to trim yours ?

I put screws in mine but I also made sure to silicone it well. I have not had any problems.
@@NorthernVikingExplorer Appreciate your prompt reply and thank you
No Problem 👍
Mine was caulked well and screwed on as per instructions. It’s leaking at the flange

Thanks, I used a self leveling concrete that you pour out and let dry. It is available in the flooring section at Home Depot.

It was a concrete floor that I poured it on to.
