• 1 Cor 3:14 now ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
• We are the dwelling place of God Himself.
• He is not contained in heaven or the highest heavens. He desires to live among His people. So He asked them to build a tabernacle, but even then, not everyone could enter it- only the high priest
• It was the same case for the subsequent 2 temples. But through Jesus, He moved away the temple built by human hands and established the church.
• The church was where everyone could enter boldly to the throne of grace.
• 1 Cor 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
• Jesus paid the price to God to dwell in our bodies; this body is not under ownership anymore.
• We are not our own. Like after marriage, one cannot live the same way as before- as if they were alone. We are no longer ours to live any way we please. Once we realize this truth, we enter the true Christian life.
• Jesus said- I am the true vine. I do not yield wild grapes; from me comes grown grapes.
• V9. Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Like the poor man, Lazarus could not cross paradise to give a drop of water to the rich man in hell. No one can escape death by good works. Eternity is achieved only by grace.
• 1 cor 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize?
• We cannot live any way we please. We have a set purpose in life. Our bodies are God’s temple.
• When the people tried to crown Him king by force, He withdrew, knowing they followed Him only for the food and healing. Do not labor for the food that perishes.
• 1 Cor 15:19. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. John 2:24 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men.
• When problems come, do we pray only for that deliverance and then forget afterward. Deliverance may be one phase, but we must grow out of it to move forward in the journey and focus only on our relationship with Christ.
• Real spirituality means Habakkuk 3:17- Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls-
• The Israelites rebelled against God by making a golden calf, having drunken parties. Yet, each day He kept giving them manna. God’s heart is one of love.
• Rom 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
• We may still be members of the local church, but we have no connection with Christ without the Holy Spirit. Eph 1:13 you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
• Our homes must be a “Bethel” - the dwelling place of God. His presence must be there always. When anyone enters my home, they shall experience the presence of God. No evil can dare to enter our house, no hereditary sickness, or mantras. He will be a wall of fire around us. I am the temple of the Most High God. He will not allow any man or power to stand before my face. He who curses me shall be cursed.
• My body will be maintained by God, my eyes will not turn dim, nor my natural strength abated.
