Conception is such a mystery, our ways of describing it tell more about the social norms than the process itself. Alchemists believed that the mother's role is minuscule, her womb is just fertile soil. If you leave sperm in rotten meat, a small human, homunculus, will develop, and famous medieval alchemists experimented with it. That's how unimportant mother was to them, she's just nourishing environment.
This reminds me a lot about our modern ideas about "conquering" the egg in the battle or "raping" it with needles during ICSI.

Hi Fleur! Thank you for all the great content. I was wondering if you could do a video about balancing hormones after having the Covid-19 virus? After some research I’ve learned a lot of women have had changes to their cycles (especially heavier periods with far more blood clots) after having the virus

me and my husband have been trying for 3 years, we have done EVERYTHING under the sun to get pregnant, we have bought the detox kits and homeopathic remedies from your website, we take the best supplements, we work every day on reducing stress, we have changed our diets. i think you get the picture.. we have done it all. (drinking bone broth, sleeping with eye mask, etc etc, everything) and so, we went to a clinic to get help. Turns out his sperm is of so poor quality (still!! after everything we have done) that we don't have another choice then ICSI.. this was extremely painful because my dream was to do all this the natural way, from beginning to end. and now, i feel like if we want to have a baby at all, we need to do this thing that is so far from natural, and i have had so much anxiety about this. and your video only reminded me of this.. it's so important to spread the word Fleur, but.. what if you don't have a choice? if ICSI is your only chance? How can one feel better about it, when it as, as you pointed out very unnatural...

    Hi,
I know this has nothing to do with this video, however, I started charting with vaginal BBT. Could you please make a video showing a chart using vaginal temperatures?
I noticed it’s much more accurate for me doing vaginally then oral because I sleep with a mouth guard so my mouth stay kind of open.
It would be really interesting to see vaginal bbt charts.
    Thank you!

Really interesting and enlightening! Up until maybe a year ago I was too busy with my life and too frightened of having a baby, and now finally, I'm ready. If it comes naturally - good, if it doesn't, also good. I won't do some artificial procedure instead of God's given process. I'm 45. :)

you may be ovulating a little early like on cycle day 11 (count 25 minus 14 days) or you may have a bit of a shorter luteal phase (less than 14 days). It's good to track your basal body temperature daily to get a better sense of your ovulation pattern.

This is interesting, but honestly some people are going to be quite offended by this, and I think rightfully so. Can we please remember the egg and sperm do not have 'feelings'. Some people have no choice but to use things like ICSI. In a post RvW world, this video irks me a bit. I know you said this was not a judgement video, but your tone towards the end suggested otherwise. Lastly, SOOO many aspects of medicine are 'unnatural' yet fantastic, and help people and save lives every day.

This sounds a lil off. There's so much worry from the roe vs Wade when it comes to IVF. Is this where you're going with this? IVF is there to give people the option of having their own child right from the start who couldn't naturally, for a multitude of reasons. Having an issue with that not being natural is BS. There's plenty in our society that is not natural & manmade that we all are thankful for because it has made the impossible for some, possible. Let's be thankful & grateful it's there for those that need it.

I hear what you’re saying, you are totally right and justified, but I don’t think that’s the point Ingefleur was getting at / I think she just wanted to make sure we had more information at our disposal and that we research and look at it from all angles ourselves before we make such an important decision on what to use to help us. I’m sure someone like her who has devoted her life, and time away from her family, to bring babies into the world, and to educating us on YT, would never truly scoff at any evidence-based technique or tool used to help someone achieve their take home baby. She is just providing more insight and we are to utilize it as needed. 😊
