I agree with Ish as a once single mom. Yes we could do it alone. Even with family or village u still struggle. But with a partner u don't have to do it all!!! Again Ish is right. No new parent wants to raise a kid on their own. There are legions of women crying on the internet bc they realized single parenthood is roooough! Even with help! It’s absolutely a red flag 🚩 if someone thinks marriage is a bigger commitment than parenthood. That kind of thinking/behavior is why the community looks how it looks😓

Ish is completely right! A woman can raise a child on her own but a village and/or partner is much needed and appreciated.
Ish was 100% right in the single mom conversation. I can’t believe no one was on his side. No one wants to raise a child on their own. Like he said they are hopeful in that they’re thinking the relationship is going to last long term.
No one was on his side because of the other things that were added out his mouth and how he is always speaking on women, about women, and on behalf of how a woman thinks and feels yet identifies as man.

Ish has to grow up and grow out , seek counseling(if not, already signed up), learn about his own ACES (as they are on display) and literally elect or take the option to simply be quiet sometimes 🙄 ...it's okay I promise .
I remember when Joe use to just randomly call ish on the phone just to fk with him / pick his brain since their so close. To see him and hear his perspectives 24/7 yrs later is always such a treat.

I agree with Ish on the relationship thing. I understand that buddy did what he did with his time and she needs her time. However, in my opinion, I believe that if you agreed to work on the relationship and continue to move forward, have more children etc…
then you can’t keep using the past transgressions as a weapon. Once you agreed to take that person back move forward and try to work things out. It should be a clean slate or it’s never gonna work. With that said, and I mean this for both parties involved, you should never try to smother, or bury the feelings of the other person. At some point in time they will resurface.

Ish is right though. 9 times out of 10 if a single mom feels like shes "got this" it's because she has some kind of support in her corner, even if it's just her family and close friends. She has a village. Any parent who does it completely on their own is probably struggling in some aspect

Government assistance doesn't provide raising your child in a nurturing environment. Getting help on a bill doesn't equal a co-parenting situation. Raising a child is at least a 2 person job.

I was raised by a single mother and for the most part, she did what she could do as a single parent but I feel like she focused so much on her physical presence, her being there for me whereas my dad was a "deadbeat" that she forgone the emotional aspect. It even lead me to thinking that I would be better off if she too wasn't around as the emotional abuse was just hectic. We are good now, I tried to rationalise the whole situation plus it didn't help that I am a spitting image of my dad.

This show is so fucking funny on so many levels
Joe was wrong about that Last of Us episode not being important. If you played the game, you know that episode was based on the Left Behind DLC, which let you basically play the moments leading up to Ellie getting bitten. As a fan of the game it was great to see them turn that into an episode, and it provides an answer to the question “How did Ellie get bit?” Not only that, it helps you understand why she wouldn’t leave Joel to just die.
As someone who played TLoU a couple times back in the day. The first game was amazing like a solid 8.5/10 but, the 2nd game was a 6/10 and only okay because of gameplay but, story was really bad.
