    Max torque at a mere 3700rpm. It's about the torque and this will run forever, unlike a lot of the modern shit they're selling/leasing these days. Best commuter /tourer by far for the money

    own this bike, nice linear power, not a rr by any chance but still quite quick, slight forward lean, I enjoy the brakes, very good stopping power, very smooth, priced right, I added Oxford heated grips, best bang for the buck, 1250 motor, centerstand, abs, air and water cooled, 6 spd, at 7499.00 can't go wrong!

      1250 here also running just under 140 bhp at the wheel. Pulls hard in any gear from idle.

    these bikes are kind of a basic UJM like you say but 105000km's on my 09 1250 and she still pulls hard. no point reving them to redline but you never feel the need to. If you are looking for a great commuter or cheap tourer suzuki made a solid motor n box

    Been looking at these. Not the wine! tho! lol
    Got myself a VFR800X crossrunner and its developed a hsetiation and its really pissing me off so I'm going to px the damn thing. Tried plugs and coil sticks but it lookes as tho it'll need plugging it at Honda for £150 check. So I'm done with modern bikes....

    Good review 👍 thanks. Iv been debating bmw but costs can be high if they ever need anything major. I think a sensible suzuki is better for my wallet. Given the choice would you tour Europe on the bandit or bmw? Iv seen a 2015 bandit with only 4k miles full luggage 2keys etc etc it's £ 4750 shall I buy it? Its much cheaper insurance than all the beamer quotes

    I wish i never sold my 1250s really nice bike to ride with eye watering torque, also a very easy bike to ride even for a beginner, only thing bad i can say about the bike is the heavy clutch which is surprising considering it's hydrolic

    Bought a 2009 Suzuki bandit 1250 naked this week, won’t run past 6k revs and won’t go faster then 160kmh. Must be restricted, any idea how to take it out?

  • @kagolko

    It's noting thrilling (does 60mph in around 3 seconds lol). What world r we living in man, when that's not alone thrilling hahaha

      Most bikes go 0-60 between 2 and 3 seconds you talk like it's a HUGE difference LOL!!!
      BTW......Unlike other bikes the 1250 makes about 80lbs of torque at just 3,000 RPM's so it feels MUCH faster. Most bikes don't make that much torque until about 8,000 RPM's or more.

    • @kagolko

      Bro I personally think 3 secs to 60 is plenty fast enough. And it's my dream bike too. Esp. 2016 model..

      I just bought a black 2009 1250 with only 19,000 miles on it for $3,800.
      It's my second Bandit 1250.
      I had a Red 2007 that I traded in at a dealer for a low mileage 2010 Yamaha FJR1300.
      Great bike but top heavy and 650lbs. The Bandit 1250 is more versitle.

      Yeah, count to 3 and you're at 60, plenty fast!

    Poor fuel economy ? Mine does 60 mpg solo, 55 mpg two up when kept within the speed limit. Hardly poor for a 1250 !!!

    • @bobbyfett5618
      @bobbyfett5618  8 років тому

      I commute up to 160 miles per day (sometimes 120), was having to fill up twice, on the bandit costing around £17-20 per day. My BMW R1200R only needs filling up once and costs between £12 and 17 depending on the rout. As much as the bike grew on me I personally want impressed by the fuel economy although I'm sure the tank size played a part in that too.

    • @Afonso2001br
      @Afonso2001br 8 років тому +1

      I agree. I ride 18 km with one litre gasoline. It's better than many smaller bikes.

    • @axelfiraxa
      @axelfiraxa 4 роки тому

      Depends. At an average speed of 110km/h i get about 6.6L solo
      Slightly faster and with a passenger it climbs to 7
      At a constant 95mph(154 km/h) i get about 7.8 which is admittedly bad. But anything under 7l/100km is fine

    • @manbiteslife3110
      @manbiteslife3110 Рік тому

      @@axelfiraxa Most people report 5-7 L/100km. If you ride like crazy, expect higher numbers obviously. If you change gears at 6k and keep it at 4k rpm then it's gonna give you 5l/100

    Strange question...was this a loaner from BLD? I used to deliver these bikes as courtesy bikes for them. We would use these when taking the vans in for servicing. Would throw them on the back, drop the van off, and ride back to base. Was a bit of guilty pleasure this one...however the 600 was a wet lettuce.🤣

    what sort of mods would I need to get it 130bhp+?!?! That's alot of gain. A decat exhaust?

    • @bobbyfett5618
      @bobbyfett5618  8 років тому +1

      Yes an exhaust would be the place to start, I'm no expert but there are some pretty bold claims in this article

      Thanks for the article but it seems that they were upgrading the carburetted bandit 1200. Still good power from an old bike like the 1200 though. Bandits are underrated bikes in my eyes. Also good review.
