  • In addition to my last video I show this time which GrblGru CAM functions are applicable to robot arms.
    If you are interested in how to get a robot arm to draw a DXF or SVG on an uneven 3D object, watch this video.

    congratulations once again for your performance and dedication to clarify doubts, answer me one thing if I make a rectangle for example and make the weld on the ends and inside the 40x40 metalon and on the outside with the creation of the solid so that it would be created this g-code to run in your program and in the case of tig welds that is triggered by a trigger and in fact I would put a relay for such a function I didn't see you explaining this in your video because this example is very important because the main doubts of welding robots is the path and firing of the torch, if it can clarify those doubts it will be very good

      I have to say very clearly that the program is not suitable for fully automatic welding in its current state. I only wanted to show in the video that it is possible to position a tool perpendicular to the processed surface with 5 axes. Sorry if this led to misunderstandings.

    Hi this is an excelllent program! I´m just testing my new diy cnc machine, trying to write large text from a dxf file. I can get it to draw the letters outlined (using PAINT) but how do I get GRBLGRU to draw filled-in letters? Or to paint filled areas generally? Thanks for any help!

      Which machine model do you load in GrblGru ?

      @@grblgru Hi thanks for answering! For this question of filling-in I tried this on a Cobra/Shapeoko machine simulation. I have experimented with pockets, perhaps this is the answer....
      Since then I have built a 6-axis CNC machine, but I am unable to find the right Machine Type. The CNC has a fixed BASE, with a turntable that rotates around the Z-Axis (=C-axis) The Y-Axis is a sliding gantry type, carrying the X-Axis.
      The X-Axis carries the tool which can rotate around X- AND Y-axes (=A-axis and B-axis). I tried the BUX type and LOWRIDER 4TH AXIS type, it sort of works but not quite. Would it at all possible to make a new Type for me? I am a sculptor and I would like the machined model to be vertical (Z is height and Y is tool depth then). I can send you a picture of my CNC but where to?
      Danke im Voraus! Neil

    Thank you very much for this program!!! So technically i can moddified MaslowCNC by adding a gripper (servomotor) & pancake stepper motor right? Or even put laser engraver too?
    I need to make something bigger like MaslowCNC but its multipurpose “gondola” by not hanging that heavy drill...

      Unfortunately I do not understand exactly what you want to do. But with Mega-5X you have the possibility to control 5 axes. If the existing CAM functions are not enough for you, you can use the macros to generate the GCode yourself.

    I have two questions:
    1- at 04:19. How can I import an stl file instead of the surface configuration? If so, please help me.
    2- If the tool I use for the robot arm is laser engraver head, how do I turn the laser relay on and off (code M3-M5)
    Thanks

    • @grblgru
      @grblgru  4 роки тому

      1. You can easily load an STL via the menu item "File\Load STL.."
      2. GrblGru calculates universal standard GCode.
      This is independent of the used controller. You can edit this GCode later and add additional commands. ( 4th button from left in the toolbar)

    This is just great! Is it possible to apply it to custom robot size and custom robot with different axes order?

    • @grblgru
      @grblgru  4 роки тому

      Thanks. Yes, it's basically possible. The pivot points of the rotation axes are entered in the Machine Manager. But if you have a different type of robot arm, for example one with only 4 axes or 7 axes, this will not work. But in this case I can create a new type.

      The installation of the operating system is also easier.

    I have to say it is great job that was done by you! Unfortunatly, on my Win10 PC there are error poping up when i choose RobotArm5Axes. Only with this machine, all others works fine. Link on error screen i attached bottom. Is it possible to add more axes to this machine in case of Gcode generation? We have custom handmade 7 axes robot arm(links on youtube and insta bottom) and now it works on Mach3, works, but solution not fits well)) So i wanna move to g2core and try it for welding and your CAM looks ideal with some exeptions. As for classic manipulation robot arm we have axis number 6 rotary and robot base(7axis) is not fixed, but linear axis. Is it difficuld to add more axises? And now i see that your 5AxRobotArm holding tool perpendicular, is it possible to manualli choose the angle with whom tool will process a surface? I will glad to be your 6-7 axis manipulator robot real workshop)

      To your question about 7 axis robots.

      Thanks for the models. But there is a problem.
      The individual components are lying freely in space. I cannot put them together. I need all objects in the basic position of the machine. It will probably be necessary to simplify the model because otherwise the animation is too slow.
      Do you have an IGS model of the machine with all components in the basic position ?

    А каким образом в интерфейс заводятся параметры робота? плечи и оси? - как я понял программе без разницы какой робот вы создали - вводятся только его параметры, а вычисления grbl делает уже сама на основе данных робота??? - если это так - то это не просто классно - это супер классно!
