Dr. Hoffmann should go next to Kislev or Bretonnia or the Southern Realms ( Principalities, Estalia, Tilea). And the Cathay, Ind, Nippon. So much more to explore. The Empire is just the beginning. 😊
Thank you for watching! And we hope you enjoyed exploring the province of Averland with Dr. Steffan Hoffman. What was your favorite part of Averland's lore? Is it the stories surrounding Blackfire Pass or how the Averlanders defend against greenkin raids? Also, if you have any ideas, questions, or constructive feedback on how we can improve, please feel free to share! We’re always looking for ways to make these videos more engaging and immersive for you. The next video will be the province of Wissenland and the city of Nuln, where Dr. Hoffman returns home.
Well fellow knowledge seeker it is the humble request of this scholar that perhaps Dr. Hoffman might make a daring journey to the ruins of Solland, after his journeys in the North, a few Greenskins are naught to be feared. Perhaps even a trip up to Marienburg as well one day?
@@robertcbarryMarienburg has always sounded interesting to me. It connects so many factions in the Old World through their commerce. And The Ruins of Solland is a great idea indeed!
This was such a great series. I loved it through and through. And ide could be Battles or campaigns told from the view of one or more(but only a few) people, to give that feeling of being in it and not outside in.
I've been binging your videos lately. I played some Warhammer tabletop in high school. Got into a great podcast in the last few years called Grim podcast of perilous adventure. And have been down a rabbit hole since. Even playing Return of Reckoning when I can.
Honestly? Money and technology. That is a thing only dwarfs, elves or Cathay could have done at the peak of their power. The closest example of what you suggest would be Axe Bite Pass in the grey mountains, where the entire pass is blocked by two nightly fortresses, Montfort and Helmgart. Mind you, both these defences were made by dwarf empire before/during war of the beard when it was the border of dwarf realm and elf colonies. Back then, Black Fire Pass was literally next to the capitol city of the dwarfs, Karaz a Karak, ans nobody back then believed orcs or chaos dwarfs could get past the world edge mountains. Dwarfs also won the war of the beard, most battles were taking places in modern Bretonnia and Empire, so they had no reason to fortify their own ways inside their empire. By the time of Goblin wars, dwarfs were too busy and few to build a wall like this again while humans just started to settle on in the modern day empire, still using bronze tools. For the next 1500 years, orcs pretty much owned the black fire pass until Sigmar stopped their invasion. After Sigmar, watch towers and defences were set up there, including two mighty nameless castles at the both ends that were described in the novel In the Swords of the Empire novel. The forts don’t block the pass entirely, but they are build on high ground and have cannons that allow them to blast anytime trying to go past them. It’s practically the same problems both races always have in Fantasy since war of the beard. Dwarfs have enough gold to swim in it, but too few people to retake their empire and too proud to hire mercenaries to do it. While humans have enough people but not enough gold, technology, magic or time to create such a thing. But from player perspective? It’s GW’s fault for not thinking or caring about doing something like this. Instead, they made Role Play adventure about going past it You an read what is exactly there here warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Black_Fire_Pass Or just go straight to the source images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_content/wfrp/support/black-fire-pass-web.pdf
Thank you for all these great chronicles Dr. Stefan Hofmann. Knowing the empire from your eyes has been the greatest piece of history i found over here. Hope you guys keep doing this work.
I'm re-reading the Sigmar series right now, so when I saw Black Fire Pass, I thought for sure the video was about the OG Empire battle that made Sigmar.
Try as the Greenskins might, Averland shall not fall! Averland is strong, and its people are stronger. And now Dr Steffan Hoffman's journey finally takes him back home, to Wissenland and Nuln. Can't wait to hear Steffan talk about the Gunnery School there and the legendary gunners and artillerymen that graduate from it.
Oh no! Are the adventures over? I mean he took an arrow to the knee... Or is this gonna be the start of a "Guard of..." style series cause that be cool.
It Is definitely coming! 😃 We have yet to explore Khorne and Slaanesh. Here is the one we did on Nurgle's Garden: ua-cam.com/video/Zm7RQN5M50Q/v-deo.htmlsi=A-RH_8Pp_5Fhva2L
You know when I gave thumbs up? After the arrow to the knee. What a pun. Im bit suspicious thats the last of the videos. Everybody knows an arrow to the knee means end of your adventuring. Period.
Did you read or saw the video of Ostermark? They even had a Cataclysmic event, yes, it was a Meteor but Mordheim had a lot of Warp stone debris, which is basically radioactive material with magic, with mutational powers as other properties. The writers say that is akin to the Gold Fever of the Old West, but a gold that can do weird things and it's uses are many.
His adventures are over. He took an arrow to the knee, no adventurer could continue after that.
xd
Nooo he is no random adventurer! He is Dr Stephan Hoffmann & by Sigmar he is obligated to continue to entertain us ☺️🤩
@Cross_111 Afraid he'll be just another guard now, and he won't care if your sweet roll was stolen.
Just wait, until his cousin will tell him that he saw a dragon, in the south.
Maybe no regular adventurer. But this one, he is no Regular adventurer.
Blessed be sigmar, our favorite chronicler survived!
Dr. Hoffmann should go next to Kislev or Bretonnia or the Southern Realms ( Principalities, Estalia, Tilea).

Don’t be ridiculous. Doctor Hoffmann is no coward.

Another great video, thx.
Hi there, love this imperial provinces series! What about a visit to stirland? Isnt that still missing as a province?
Justice without force is powerless, just as force without justice is Tyranny. -Sigmar 🕊️
No idea how these videos havnt blown up, I love the style
Averland in fandom = hahaha they marry their cows and their elector count is barking mad.
Averland in lore =
I mean, two things can be true at the same time
Averland in Total War: Turn 10, oh well, Averland is gone.
These videos are in a league of their own

Why not just build a giant wall at blackfire pass? I think it would make things easier for the empire to defend it from the orcs.
they didn't think of it

Impressive and well done as always Dr Hoffmann.
Now. Once your knee heals, go to southern pole/chaos waste next.
No mater who you are, the Avalander Zwei Hander is looking badass.
My fave series of yours.
This is the episode I've been waiting for!
Ha! An arrow to the knee!
Of all the mistakes 6th edition made, killing off Marius Leitdorf was first and foremost among them.
How does an Averlander tell the difference between his woman and his cattle?
He can’t!

So basically Averland is Ukraine. A breadbasket with resources that's surrounded by neighboring invaders.

I think of warp stone as magical uranium
Particularly Orks from Mordor/Moscow.
