As a whole S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla 1991 Shinjuku Decisive Battle Ver. turned out to be absolutely fantastic! The sculpt is well done, the paint apps are great and S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla 1991 Shinjuku Decisive Battle Ver. is posable. The fact that we're still using the Effect part from the first edition SHMA Goszilla because they refuse to make a new one is just embarrassing.
That one always just looked like he was shooting water out of his mouth, and his been slated for an update a decade ago at this point. But SHMA just refuses to make a new one. Hell I almost miss the days of those overpriced accessory packs. At least they gave you options back then.
Regardless the figure does look very good and does very faithfully recreate the Shinjuku suit. But man I was really hoping that after Biogoji we'd actually get a Hokkaido 91 suit, which to this day is still my definitive Heisei Godzilla look. I know this was made to be paired with Mecha King Ghidorah, but man one day I hope we get the Hokkaido suit. Though I know people must be tired out of the Heisei suits for now
Real talk, it’s insane how Ghidorah stood no chance against Godzilla in the hesei era. Even when he was mechanized and enhanced.
Now, SHMA is on a roll with these figures now (except for that 2019 night combat thing.)
When we first saw the Showa Era Gigan, we knew SHMA was doing way better. The sculpts are getting way better, and the paint is better.
This could’ve been the rerelease for SH 1994 Godzilla. I hope they keep this up.

Neat. I preordered this one as my first S.H Monsterarts figure. And based on this channel's review, I made up the conclusion that I ain't gonna regret it lmao. Fantastic review as always!

As someone who owns him I don’t care what other people say it’s in my opinion the best Godzilla figure ever it’s a perfect representation of my favourite Godzilla design
well worth the price tag IMO, goes so well with my OG and SVC King Ghidorah and Mecha King Ghidorah💯
I saved up money to buy this then I realised it came with no accessories. Honestly I'm really disappointed in Bandai for not including a breath affect part
What made you think he was going to come with something every recent godzilla they have released has come with nothing
To be fair, it's a Heisei Sh Monsterarts, so.. 9 times out of 10, it would have been an already made breath effect if they gave us one, so it's more of a "If you already have one with previous Heisei figures then you don't need a extra one" lol but yeah such a shame we'll never get more accessories anymore.
I say you still get it and make a custom atomic breath !
That’ why I usually watch customer reviews on the product and UA-cam figure reviews before buying the item.
Bandai is always lazy and over-priced
Great review and history description involving the time travel plot! The only thing I would change is the head and jaw to be a bit thicker like in the up close animatronic shots of his head in the film. Regardless it's still a awesome figure of one of my favorite heisei Goji's

Really hope they remodeled the SHM Godzilla in 1993 (Makuhari Decisive Battle version) and 1994 (Fukuoka Decisive Battle version)

If you want to tighten the ball joints on your figures, try painting the balls and sockets with Quick Shine floor finish. It's a non permanent solution which can be reapplied. I've been using similar products for years, and they've worked well in not only tightening the joint, but protecting the plastic itself from wear. The finish can be washed off with soap.
Your opening monologue made me think 2 things. Either humans are too dumb to properly eliminate the King. Or fate sides with Godzilla more frequently…
Also, I think they should give each figure at least 1-2 accessories 😊

Yup, they really should have given use accessories for Godzilla and Mecha King Ghidorah.
Great review as always, love the figure, it looks great and the issue of the tail isn't a big problem, but the lack of a beam effect and accesories keeps me from buying it, so I'm gonna better save my money for next year, Space Godzilla looks great and will have actual accesories.

Packaging was cool, the figure was great. Downside was only the fact that it didnt have any accessories. At least i got my first sh monsterarts. Thanks for the review, Diego!

It's a great figure and it's for the Shinjuku scene with Mecha KG, but I hope we get a Hokkaido suit too, that one was my favorite for a while. The Shinjuku suit is pretty much just the 1989 suit with a different head, so the fact that it's so similar to a previous release does bother me a bit. I've already got BioGoji, not entirely sure if I should get this guy honestly. It does look fantastic sculpt-wise, everything-wise, just a bit aprehensive to drop 100 bucks on him. Maybe I'll wait for the Hokkaido suit when they do an OG Ghidorah SCV re-release 😂
My mouth piece fell straight out of the box and I have no clue if I was able to pop it back in or not.
Finally, a Goji without wonky cross eyes!

No. I’m not a fan of Kong and that figure has gotten very pricy. It’s not worth it to me
Had this been the swim suit aka the Hokkaido Suit, then I would've bought it. Only gripe is this is basically a lowkey reissue of 89 Godzilla which it too is I think the Shinjuku suit aka land suit which I already have on hand. Also funny to think they're roughly the same size as well when if you think about it, shouldn't Godzilla be a bit bigger like he was in GvKG?
Agree with you on this one, i passed on this as it looks so similar to the 89 Godzilla. I prefer having Godzillas that look different from each other.
This figure rocks and I'm definitely looking into getting it, though I'm also on the fence about getting that new Hiya Toys version of the 1991 which I feel has a better design but much worse colors compared to this figure. The Hiya Toys design with these colors would make the perfect Godzilla I think. Great video!

I have this guy, he’s a great figure but his neck is a paint to use since his neck sleeve keeps getting stuck to the head. And his jaw and jaw joint keep falling out if you aren’t careful. Still a great figure though.
Edit: the second I took him out of the box his tongue fell out and I lost it forever..
For 50 bucks, absolutely. 80-100... nah. No accessories, tail joints that fall off and average articulation. I am not digging that neck area. I do love the feature that covers the thigh/leg joints. The head sculpt is nice as well. Love your reviews.

Getting real tired of them not including any effect parts. Paying a premium for a naked figure is starting to not be worth it.
mine actually has an issue with the jaw, it seems to have been disconnected from the joint, but it is such a small joint and hard to get at so it hasn't been able to be reattached. It isn't the biggest issue cause the jaw can sit inside the cavity and still look good, but when moving the jaw it will not stay in place and will sometimes fall out. is there a solution to this problem?

Not just yet. I’m planning an Ultraman blowout to get caught up on the SHF Ultraman reviews. I have almost every release. I just have not gotten to them yet
Isn't this just a renamed 1989 goji... The suit design is virtually identical from what i see from this video and my biogoji figure
Well both 89 suits (Land and Sea) were reused and modified in Godzilla vs King Ghidorah. the 89 Godzilla SHMA and this new one are based on the land suit or so I assume. It would've been cool had they issued the Hokkaido Suit aka the Sea suit which is the one you see when he arrived on Hokkaido to fight King Ghidorah.
Honestly we need a Godzilla returns (1984) figure for the monsterarts line... Or Orga

That is a tough one. I think I like this figure better.
I hate bandai's idea that new Godzilla's don't need any breath effect parts. I missed out on the early knes that had breath effects so the only one i have is that effect pact they came out with. And a few custom ones I could find on ebay. Which is a sham ewith how the prices of new ones have gone up but still no breath effects.

It really depends on the version you like best. I think for me it would be between Shin and Ultima.
