That Hasbro Ric Flair is one of the only Hasbro figures that I have no memories of playing with as a kid. I guess even then I knew to pass on that one. The Galoob Ric Flair is an absolute classic though.
I was pretty young when Jakks Classic Superstars series 1 came out and I was pretty excited to get some older wrestlers to go with the modern (at the time) ones. That Andre was just baffling.
Flair with a Jake body would have been more playable, but I loved this head sculpt! It always reminded me of the crazy look in his eyes after his WrestleMania 8 match, which is probably my favorite Ric Flair match (I know, Flair/Steamboat, but that was before my time). For whatever reason, this headlock-punch pose bothered me more on the Rick Rude figure than it did on Flair.
On the flip side the best Flair figure was the 1990 Galoob, which may be my favorite wrestling figure of all time. As a kid I had both the Galoob and Hasbro Flair, but I only used the Galoob.
I always felt the perfect LJN pose and body for Rude would have been Paul Orndorff. The Orndorff LJN was tall, small waist and legs, with the big double bicep. I don’t think it fit Orndorff himself, but would have made a great rick rude.
I never saw the Galoob Ron Simmons in stores, but I did get the Butch Reed and use him as Ron Simmons (by then it was 1992 and I had never seen Butch Reed in action but Ron Simmons was a top guy), just as I used my Barry Windham figure as the Taylor Made Man. I remember being unclear about who Barry Windham was, despite the fact that he was part of "Sting's Squadron" in the 1992 War Games match. Maybe it was the beard and ponytail on the figure, which he had since parted with. The Galoob figure I yearned for most was Z-Man, so I could recreate his match with Brian Pillman, also from Wrestle War 92.
OMG ! since you brought it up ! My GOD we need some Elite RnR Express figs !!! Midnight Express 4 pack with Jim , Bobby , Dennis and Stan ! Sorry Randy Rose . Well ? Chase Variant ??? lol !
With that JCS Andre, the glamour shots on the back show 1 strap, was that a prototype figure? Or what was up with that? Not sure why the glamour shots would be 1 strap but the figure itself be 2
I’m having a hard time thinking of a top 5. One that sticks out right now is UE WM6 Warrior. If you’re gonna make the same figure for a third time then you need to really make it special, especially if it’s an ultimate edition. The heads are so disappointing. Needed that really big teased out hair for the prematch look and that sweat drenched hair for post. The figure isn’t bad but it definitely failed to live up to expectations.
I love and respect a company who hears criticism and fixes it. As a result i have no problem giving that company my business. Because a lot of companies verbally attack fans for valid criticisms and call us every insult under the sky. My top five disappointing wrestling figures 5.Ljn's 4.Wrestling figures that blended wrestlers with military and gangsters 3.Wcw vibrator figures 2.Hasbro ric flair 1.Jakks Maximum Sweat
I only had 4 figures, lol😆 My all-time favorite is Jake the Snake I got in 1991 because of Damien due to few facts: his left arm could lock heads in for the DDT and his right arm could be pointed up for his signature pose just before hitting the DDT. Very disappointing was the Hulk Hogan bearhug figure. I mean it looked great- huge and aggressive but it tipped over by the slightest movement. Koko Bware has awesome looks with Frankie the parrot but one day using his action move, his head detached and flew around😂 I managed to fix it though. I still have Jake and Koko with their pets and the jake figure would star in a hilarious music video which would win us a third place at the Britspotting 48h filmchallenge in 2005 😂😂 Great memories all connected to wrestling☺
I don't have a top 5 but my number 1 is the series 1 titan tron figures. I was a hasbro/bone cruncher kid and when the titan trons came out I was so disgusted with them I think I only got them for about the first year or two and then stopped getting wrestling figures.
@Alan Carter That Blue Blazer bone crunch figure is very rare because after Owen died they took that figure off the shelf. It's awesome that you have him mint in box. That will go for a lot these days.
WCW Goldberg toy was so skinny that toy looked more like Gilbert.Im disappointed still,it was my little brother's Christmas toy.All the others were good but that one.
Even though flair should of had his own new mould for hasbro but as they were reusing old moulds they should’ve used Greg valentines upper body and maybe Jim duggans legs would have been a great figure. Atleast we had the galoob flair still the best flair figure in my opinion.
Honorable mention: When Jakks did the first Jeff Jarrett figure when he cut his hair and went to short pants in late 98, all they did was recolor Owen Harts Black Hart figure and they even used the same head mold of Owen, plus a little spray paint of yellow to make it look like Jarrett's goatee. Look up Jakks WWF Shotgun Saturday Night Series 2 Jeff Jarrett. They also did a paint variation of this half assed figure for the WWF DTA Tour 2 in 1999 and they both suck!
Never understood why Galoob went the little ljn plastic mold instead of articulated figures like hasbro. In a documentary of wrestling figures, I heard the dudes behind it wanted to do some payback after wwf denied those guys the right for the wwf superstars. But to me that a dumb kind of payback since the galoob figures didn’t sell well opposed to hasbro. Just wondering why they couldn’t go the route of hasbro.
Gotta be different and and I enjoyed the galoobs as a kid. I felt they did not sell as well as a lot of people did not even know what wcw was and they were not carried in all stores
I thought the galoobs were awesome as a kid because it reminded me of the LJN’s. Plus they weren’t as cartoony looking. I only wished they had made more if it didn’t discontinue. Rude, Vader, Austin, Eaton, Nikita, Steamboat would have been great.
That Ron Simmons Galoob never bothered me as a kid. One of the most disappointing figures for me was the Defining Moments Great American Bash Sting. It was certainly a better figure than the ones on your list but it should have been much better. It had terrible body part choices, a subpar face sculpt, a stiff rubber jacket, and no WCW title belt. At first it even came with the wrong boots, but Mattel did do a running change to fix that. The figure was especially disappointing for me since Surfer Sting is my all time favorite wrestler.
WWF Jakks SuperStars Series 7 Dr. Death was a big let down. He was on the pegs for at least a year. And the Blackjacks' only cause there hats and chaps weren't removable.
Tough call, I only had LJNs, Hasbros, and Galoobs growing up. Most disappointing 1. Macho Man series 5 I think? With the full suit. It was my first macho and it was my worst macho. 2. Rick Rude, never had it but horrible. 3. Ric flair hasbro to quote kyle "what are we doing?" 4. Trish Elite not sure what series 88? That face deserves better. 5. Hulk Hogan LJN I'm a lifelong hulkamaniac and dare say w/out him there are no LJNs or even figs today maybe but he should have been way more jacked! Side note I had the butch Reed galoob top guy in my fig fed and never realized he was butch Reed until later in life. Big doom mark myself.
Well u can send me Hasbro Flair. Lol I like the head sculpt but not the move he did do headlock punches, but should have bulked him up I want another Hasbro Flair though. Mine was stolen. 😑😔
Thought of another but it’s not really wrestling but is wrestling related and that’s the McFarlane Andre as Fezzik. That figure with the raccoon eyes and five o’clock shadow goatee is just bad. Plus I know McFarlane scales bigger than most figures but he scales even larger. He towers over the other figs in the same wave.
5. Toybiz DDP with the hands up doing the Diamond pose. 4. Macho Man OSFTM (LJN style). Only one bicep flex. Other hand was on his hip. Could do the Macho elbow drop, but that's about it. 3. WCW vibrator figures. 😂 2. WWF Slammers/Slammin' Action (Bone Crunchers but they have an action button on the back). 1. WWE R3 line. I...I just can't...
The Slammers Series 1 Goldust and Mankind had the best action lol they were so fun to do moves. I can't hate series 2 because it gave us The Patriot, Dude Love, and Brian Pillman. They weren't terrible. I still have the WCW Vibrators 😆 I just didn't get it, even as a kid
My most disappointing figures: 60% of Mattel's Ultimate Warrior figures (when you look close, the colors of his attire and skin are usually not right), "Hulkster Hug" Hulk Hogan (Hasbro series 2) - it was rare for me to get a second figure of the same wrestler as a kid, but after years of disappointing Hogan matches with that figure, I got his shirtless, not-tan figure circa 93 or 94 and finally had good Hulk Hogan matches, Hasbro Roddy Piper (head sculpt is not great, kilt gets in the way, figure can barely stand without falling). I'd say I felt much greater disappointment about figures that weren't made during the Hasbro and Galoob days, mostly from the WCW side: Rick Rude, Ricky Steamboat, Big Van Vader, Cactus Jack. I STILL want some Rude/Steamboat Galoobs so I can recreate their Iron Man match! In my mind, of course... 👀
I'd never seen that Flair. Now I can't un-see it. Horrible. That Andre Classic was a huge disappointment for me too. So lazy. You picked a series. I'll pick an entire line - TTL. Especially coming off of the Bone Crunchers that I loved. If I had to pick one figure, probably the series 1 Undertaker. For more recent figures, Britt Baker's first figure was a major disappointment. And Bret Ultimate Edition because of the same bad hair on 3 heads.
Speaking of LJN . Their main man ! THE GUY ! Hulk Hogan looked anorexic ! But you HAD to have him ! I bought the Hulk wearing the white and red to compensate LOL ! Sorry to comment so much . I get fired up about figures too !
MOST of those Galoob figs LOOKED great ! Loved the Barry ! I still got most of em ! But yeah ... I didnt even bother buying Ron cause his look . DAMN !!! And WHY were Doom in that gear ??? Even when they split , I didnt remember them most in ..what ? Interview gear ? I actually enjoyed playing with the same era WCW bendies ! Even though they didnt look as good . And I LOVED LJN ! My first line of wrestling figs ! I still got ALMOST all of them . And right off the bat ! I KNEW who you was gonna say ! Even though He , Bam Bam and DEmoiltion Ax were i think the only ones i didnt own , Yeah ! You couldnt do dick with tat Rude fig ! I woulda bought it anyway . I was always dissapointed in Dibiase in that suit !!! Honkytonk too , but i could work around that cause he would get his ass kicked in my league anyway !!
worst wrestling figures; 5, Mattel Retro Shawn Michaels. what a dog of a head-sculpt. 4; BCA Stone cold 1; loose joints, stars on the boots, weird hand tape. 3; OSFTM Lex Luger, he looks like a pudgy giant baby with a mullet. 2; The titan tron live series. 1; EVERY Hasbro Jumper figure except for Jimmy Snuka.
The Maxim Sweat figures were a disappointment for sure. They're faces alone were nightmare fuel. The Kane and Undertaker weren't bad though but the rest were bad.
I LOVE how passionately you hate that Flair. Can’t really blame you either.
That Hasbro Ric Flair is one of the only Hasbro figures that I have no memories of playing with as a kid. I guess even then I knew to pass on that one. The Galoob Ric Flair is an absolute classic though.

For whatever reason, this headlock-punch pose bothered me more on the Rick Rude figure than it did on Flair.
100% AGREED on Simmons & Flair … curious what would you call your most disappointing Mattel figure
On the flip side the best Flair figure was the 1990 Galoob, which may be my favorite wrestling figure of all time. As a kid I had both the Galoob and Hasbro Flair, but I only used the Galoob.
That Rick Rude figure haha wtf that’s a what are we doing for sure and that Flair is hilarious 😆
WCW Rude was an absolute monster worker and promo. All time favorite. LJN definitely should've had the bicep flex
I always felt the perfect LJN pose and body for Rude would have been Paul Orndorff. The Orndorff LJN was tall, small waist and legs, with the big double bicep. I don’t think it fit Orndorff himself, but would have made a great rick rude.

Andre with a two strap singlet? What were they thinking?
With that JCS Andre, the glamour shots on the back show 1 strap, was that a prototype figure? Or what was up with that? Not sure why the glamour shots would be 1 strap but the figure itself be 2

Great video as always! I know you’re straight-edge, but if there was ever time for a cold one….

My top five disappointing wrestling figures
5.Ljn's
4.Wrestling figures that blended wrestlers with military and gangsters
3.Wcw vibrator figures
2.Hasbro ric flair
1.Jakks Maximum Sweat
I love that CSS Andre. It’s like one of those movies that’s so bad it’s great. I smile every time I look at it.
I only had 4 figures, lol😆 My all-time favorite is Jake the Snake I got in 1991 because of Damien due to few facts: his left arm could lock heads in for the DDT and his right arm could be pointed up for his signature pose just before hitting the DDT. I agree Doom was a great tag team. Plus, I think Ron Simmons winning the WCW Title was awesome.
I have blue blazer bones cruncher still in package so disappointing when older and knowing it's a repaint of the patriot figure very disappointed 😞
@Alan Carter That Blue Blazer bone crunch figure is very rare because after Owen died they took that figure off the shelf. It's awesome that you have him mint in box. That will go for a lot these days.
@@rayrosini8907 Not really. Just got a sealed Blue Blazer for $25 off eBay.
The SummerSlam Rick Roode is really good. And that Flair looks like Dino Bravo.
I just had a cool idea for a top 5 list. Top 5 WWF Hasbro Action feature. That would be awesome. Awesome video, as usual. 🤘
I’ll add it to the list of ideas thanks
Almost at that 15k Kyle!!
You can’t play with the Rude but, man he stands so well 😂
Sure you can play with the Rude figure. It's called a squash match. He pins real easily! 😆
WCW Goldberg toy was so skinny that toy looked more like Gilbert.Im disappointed still,it was my little brother's Christmas toy.All the others were good but that one.
Love been a tier 2 Patreon. Ive got 10 Hasbros, a couple of Jakks and mostly Mattels. Have to think about worst till this goes on reg You tube.
Can you do a top 5 Kane and Rey Mysterio countdown 🙏🏼 Love these videos !
Hey Kyle, where did you get that Motorhead shirt? It’s awesome!
nice list. Def think the Flair could have been better for sure.
Even though flair should of had his own new mould for hasbro but as they were reusing old moulds they should’ve used Greg valentines upper body and maybe Jim duggans legs would have been a great figure. Atleast we had the galoob flair still the best flair figure in my opinion.
I will forever be disgusted with toy biz wcw hak/sandman. They pumped him full of steroids and and gave him a very intrusive action feature.
If you’re a big Ron Simmons fan he’s gonna be at a show in your neck of the woods Ottumwa, IA at a Central Empire Wrestling show June 4th.
Oh I know 😉
They didn’t correct the Ringside Exclusive Jericho color 👎🏻
Remember seeing that Flair in two Winn Dixie grocery stores for like 2-3 years lol. NOBODY wanted it.
Have about do top 10/5 wrestlers who should’ve been in the classic superstars line, guys like sting, macho man, Ricky steamboat and others
Yep will be coming as that will be a part of Jakks Tuesday vids
I always wanna rip out a death metal rooaarr everytime i hear this intro LOL ! And i usually do !! haha !
Never understood why Galoob went the little ljn plastic mold instead of articulated figures like hasbro. Every Spike Dudley!
But they made unique parts for Colin Delaney????
That Ron Simmons Galoob never bothered me as a kid. One of the most disappointing figures for me was the Defining Moments Great American Bash Sting. It was certainly a better figure than the ones on your list but it should have been much better. It had terrible body part choices, a subpar face sculpt, a stiff rubber jacket, and no WCW title belt. Oh boy haven’t seen this one 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Agree with rude...I just put him behind bobby Heenan.
Andre didn’t wear two straps Tape on the wrist or 2 knee pads..ric flair got the Ron Simmons poles lol
Umm I think I already watched this on Patreon 🤣🤣
WWF Jakks SuperStars Series 7 Dr. Death was a big let down. He was on the pegs for at least a year. And the Blackjacks' only cause there hats and chaps weren't removable.
That Rick Rude LJN needs to lay off the baby oil lol.
The Hasbro Ric Flair looks like Dino Bravo

Well u can send me Hasbro Flair. Lol I like the head sculpt but not the move he did do headlock punches, but should have bulked him up I want another Hasbro Flair though. Mine was stolen. 😑😔
Very curious about where you find the jakks figures and for what do you pay on average for them? I want to get so many jakks figures lol
sid from jakks bca series 3? kinda the same with flair his head was so horrible
Someone at Hasbro must have hated Ricks/Ric's lol.

I have mad respect for that Motörhead shirt
10:48 "Damn!"
Good picks
The new Mattel Trish stratus figures
Mattel wrestlemania edge elite
That’s all i can think of
Simmons Galoob and Rude LJN are my 1a and 1b worst of all time. I can't pick one of them to be #2. Both pure disappointment.
5. Toybiz DDP with the hands up doing the Diamond pose.
4. Macho Man OSFTM (LJN style). Only one bicep flex. Other hand was on his hip. Could do the Macho elbow drop, but that's about it.
3. WCW vibrator figures. 😂
2. WWF Slammers/Slammin' Action (Bone Crunchers but they have an action button on the back).

You have so many figures it’s overwhelming
I’ll get a 1a one day & keep ‘em MOC
That Ric Flair head sculpt looks like an electrocuted Pat Paterson.
My most disappointing is still WrestleMania 37 Elite Edge, who looks like freaking Test!
I called Flair and Simmons before I watched
Heh, you said Sky High.
Those figures were from the 80s so what do you expect? just be thankful you even got them at all.
Any year can have disappointing figures not just the 80s
@@KylePeterson1980 yeah but your issue was with the playability which has came along way in the past 35, 40 years.

Black haired Rick Flair from Jakks still upsets me 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I’ll never forget that one either
Old intro lol
The Maxim Sweat figures were a disappointment for sure. They're faces alone were nightmare fuel. The Kane and Undertaker weren't bad though but the rest were bad.
They’re so grotesque that they’ve become pretty iconic. In my eyes, anyway!
Hasbro rude and flair r really bad but atleast galoob made up for flair.
Speaking of pale skin ruining figures the fourth hasbro hogan without shirt sucked because of his skin tone.
You're getting your blood pressure up and throwing tantrums about toys....lol you got problems dude
