When we thought there was only 5 DLC characters in smash, I figured the little knight had no chance to be in smash. Now that there are more.... there is a chance
There's actually a little more us Hollow Knight fans would appreciate when it comes to the taunts. Not to say your ideas are bad, but these are some we think would work nicer as taunts and references to the game. Sluggy Knight: The Knight when taunting takes the form when the charm Shape of Unn is active. The Flower: The Knight when taunting pulls out a white glowing flower and lays it on the ground. (To be more accurate, the taunt shouldn't play after taking a single blow) Bow: The Hollow Knight community holds itself up with a fair amount of dueler's respect, and we "bow" to all bosses when they bow at us. (And by bow we just look down.)
Make a Defender's Crest cloud of... heroic odor. Grimmchild pops out and... goes to sleep (seriously, sleeping Grimmchild at the bench was so cute). The Knight -starts stabbing himself- briefly sheds his shell to show off his voidy tentacles
Grab would be void tendrils instead, and final smash would be Shade Lord. Dream Nail would be a taunt that lets you read the characters' thoughts like Snake's codecs or Palutena's guidance. The infected recolour should also have a dark green cloak in reference to the Hollow Knight.
The knight has no emotions so celebrating isn’t really in keeping with the character. Sitting on the bench kinda shows this, just job done now let’s move on
@@exyzt9877 maybe that is why it was discarded i mean it was discarded and maybe that's why for some people think is the true ending the knight doesn't just consume the infection it completly destroys the infection by visiting it's mother it's father's castle and meets it's past to gain power
@@BowlofColdSoup i personally dont like TOA. it makes your character be obscured and it leaded me to get hit twice in a row. i prefer something a bit more op too. like wayward compass
S I L O S he would absorb a force that tries to consume everything in it’s path. I mean, either kirby would get killed by the void within the knight or kirby will be able to controll the void as spoiler in the ending of the godmaster dlc, where the knight cracks his shell open and takes over the voic lord and demolishes the final boss
Ennard TV i mean the godseeker is literally torn to shreds by essentially just ‘thinking’ about the void, so im pretty sure eating the void is a little... dangerous. I think that kirby should be turned black with white eyes to look like a shade, and instead of walking on his feet he slithers with void below him which would be epic
Imagine their side taunt would be a short swing with the dream nail and if another fighter would be in front of them they'd reveal their unique dream nail dialogue. That'd be pretty sick.
Better final smash: shadelord The knight lashed out with void tendrils and drags them into the void itself and tears away at them while in the shadelord form
I've always thought of this little Vessel in Smash. Always had the Monarch Wings as a double jump detail and the dash cloak as a Dodge roll detail, though.
Yeah, this guy hasn't gone the obvious route. Of course, I really think he should've. Crystal Heart and Monarch Wings using soul makes absolutely no sense and makes the heart basically useless. The Monarch Wings should be the normal double jump as seeing the Knight just jump in the air makes no sense, especially when there's a perfect thing to replace it. Instead, the Crystal Heart should be it. It should also halt any falling the Knight is currently doing and not use soul. The Crystal Heart's place should be taken by the Sharp Shadow charm. In all, it seems like this dude didn't really put too much effort into being faithful to the game and put too much effort into making the soul gauge more useful than it needs to be.
@@juniperrodley9843 Monarch Wings as a soul-based recovery actually sounds cool from a gameplay standpoint, and means there's a general rule of "B button attacks use soul" which simplifies learning. But I agree that Shade Cloak makes more sense as a dodge roll than as its own move, and that it needlessly overcomplicates a straightforward charge attack.
@@benjaminlee985 Of course, but also, monarch wings just shouldn't be a B button attack in the first place. They're the most straightforward double jump there is.
I did too along, but this makes it very creative like something Sakurai would do. Also I would of thought for his nair to be a sideways spin slash since that seemed like the better option
@@johnrodriguez1922 Like I've stated in other comments: creativity just for the sake of not being what you expected is a *bad idea* . Just go with what makes the game better, not what makes it harder to understand.
For Classic Mode, the enemies will reference the bosses faced in the game. False Knight: Giant King Dedede Hornet: Sheik Mantis Lords: 3 Greninjas Dung Defender: Incineroar Broken Vessel: Meta Knight or Infected Knight Skin, and small orange Kirb armies Watcher Knights: 6 Sonics Soul Master: Marx Grimm: Dracula (it's perfect since Grimm's ability is inspired by Castlevania Dracula) Hollow Knight: Ganon Radiance: Galeem Picture at the end: Knight sitting down with someone on the beach (referencing sitting with Quirrel at the Blue Lake) I know it will be impossible with multiple Smash bosses, but the representation fits a lot
Personally, I'd make a few tweaks to some of the moves balance wise. Take note: I know nothing about game balance and haven't fully thought about these. First off, I saw a comment which said that instead of clapping when he loses, it just shows his shade hovering there. I love this idea and it sets The Vessel apart from the other characters. The Monarch Wings- Whilst I like the idea of using soul for extra jumps, 1 soul charge per extra jump seems like a bit much. Personally, I'd do one of two things. Either make all of the extra jumps after the free one worth 2 soul charges OR have the cost increase with every use. This means after The Vessel's second jump he gets a single, free Up B, then the next takes one soul charge, the next takes 2, the one after that takes 3 and then one final one takes 3. This also limits him to only having 5 Up Bs at full soul charge as well as making use of a full soul charge. Focus- At first, the idea of healing seemed really overpowered. However, only 15% overall for a full charge seems low to me. Considering that The Vessel wouldn't be living over 120% very often and would have a general kill range of 100% for heavy hits, healing 10% or 15% at a time seems more reasonable. It takes 3 seconds and 3 soul charge per focus leading to 30% or 45% for nearly 10 seconds of total uninterrupted healing and a full soul charge. In general though, bar a few exceptions, I feel like soul should be used alot. It should be a valuable resource and The Vessel should always feel low on soul, forcing him to risk his frail body by getting close with his nail. Those were just the biggest thoughts. In general, great video. Especially the win pose where he just walks along and sits on the bench. If you wait on the victory screen for a few seconds, he would even fall asleep. I think indie characters like him benefit greatly from little touches like this.
Considering everyone gets a free side dodge, even if it is much shorter, shade cloak without damage seems underpowered to me, especially when you consider it has a cooldown. I would probably make it deal damage that's equal to a nail swing or less. I liked your changes as well. I think having 12 jumps is op, especially when you consider you can add soul by hitting people, which means you could keep going indefinitely.
"The side B would be the shade cloak and do no damage" Me: but... But.... Sharp Shadow makes it deal damage and go 25% farther His FS could just skip the dream nail just have him slash with the tendrils from the start
I like how they improved this when he got to be playable in RoA. The normal version is the Mothwing cloak and the Soul version Sharp Shadow Edit: Also, sharp shadow is a combo finisher and a kill option
Well since it's a cinematic cutscene, the dream nail is probably necessary. In game, the knight only utilized the void tendrils while fighting the radiance, which was during a dream. Having the knight just turn into an explosive mess of void would be kinda random
hEalthy people (myself included) don’t like him cause A. He’s another FE Rep that no one asked for, and B. He’s not a 3rd party character, I.E a character not made by Nintendo
The shade cloak should act as if he had the "Sharp Shadow" charm on, and while I understand why you would have crystal heart as a charged side b but hear me out later The double jump should be the monarch wings instead of the up b Instead of the monarch wings, I think that the up b should be the crystal heart. Even though it doesn't go up in the original game, it could work like pits up b The grab could make use of the void inside the knight, giving a grab range comparable to greninja And the last thing, I think that focus should be a taunt rather than the down b because healing can be kinda broken, and this way the down b could be desolate dive all the time I like the idea of having the better versions of the spells, but I don't think that the better versions should take more soul than the base spells
I disagree on that last point- I think the enhanced versions should cost *more* soul. They should cost 1 default, Abyssal Shriek should cost 4, Descending Dark 3, and Shade Soul should cost 2. They should also be determined by how long the button was held, and if you have no soul you just... don't get to use those abilities. Additionally, I think HW/AS should be up+B, DD should be down+B (we agree there), side+B should be Sharp Shadow enhanced dash, and neutral B should be the heal. It is kind of shenanigans to have innate recovery, but I think it is well enough offset by the amount of time you would have to sit still, in addition to being the only "charged" move in the game that A: doesn't make an attack stronger, and/or B: doesn't add to whatever resource they use, only removes from. Last, the monarch wings should absolutely be the double jump, and I would like to see the regular dash made into the side evade.
I think having a sharp shadow like side-b is a great idea, and I agree with you on your last point, but I think that focus should be down b. Having desolate dive on the ground seems wrong, and it's only 5 percent. Also, although I think that having a replenishable up-b is overpowered, it works better than crystal heart in my opinion.
@@silentcalling Wait, so you think the Knight should have an attack that involves short hopping into the air and then slamming downwards with a powerful hitbox... *King K Rool wants to know your location*
"He came to Hallownest" You forgot the part where he was born in the abyss, all his siblings died, The Pale King loved his son too much, all that shit.
*they* the knight and all vessels are genderless. Hornet is not a vessel, because she is a daughter of Herrah and the Pale King rather than the White Lady and Pale King.
@@idioticlight Maybe their implication is that since every child/egg PK and WL had got thrown into abyss that if Hornet had also been from them she would have also been tossed down there? Bit of benefit of the doubt, but I think their main point was on the genderless-ness of vessels but not how it happened.
@@nopeuarentgettingmyname7887 The knight is genderless, so it wouldn't be they or them, it would be "It" although Team Cherry do call Ghost "he" or "they" or "them".
The story is simple: Long ago, the Radiance ruled the insect world, tapping into all their dreams. Then the Wyrm came. He and the moth seers sealed her into a prison of forgotten dreams. But she came back. (this is where you canonically enter the story, though not where you start the game). To contain the Radiance fully, the Wyrm experimented with the void, trying to create a perfect vessel with no emotions or dreams the Radiance could corrupt to escape. Eventually, a Hollow Knight was chosen, and the Abyss was abandoned. You were left behind, the only other survivor of millions of failed experiments. The Wyrm sacrificed its life to seal the Radiance inside the Hollow Knight, and three other beings entered eternal slumber, their dreams forming locks on the Hollow Knight's prison. With the Wyrm gone, the kingdom of Hallownest fell into ruin. And the Radiance's influence started to leak out again, too much for the Hollow Knight to contain, because the Knight had one flaw: a fragment of compassion the Wyrm hadn't seen. Her influence began to infect the dreams of many of the insects below the surface, a light that turned them into maddened husks. Then you found your way to the surface. Before you lies the task of opening the now-useless prison at the Temple of the Black Egg and defeating the corrupted Hollow Knight to seal the Radiance yourself. To do this, you will have to travel the length of the kingdom, face its most powerful defenders, unlock the secrets of the Dream Nail, a sword that can pierce the veil between reality and dream, and, just possibly, slaughter an entire pantheon of gods on your way to face the light that threatens everything. Fortunately, you're not completely alone. You have a...sister, one who has the power of the void but lacks the empty heart. If you can pass her tests and prove yourself worthy to seal the Radiance, she may offer help. She knows far more about this dead kingdom than you do, and might be able to point you to its darkest secrets.
Hornet dream gates right behind ghost shouts git gud as she throws her needle forward (about as far as Sheak's slash) restraining them and giving a few seconds for ghost to attack them with the dream nail. Then he turns into the shade lord in the dream. If it does enough damage they explode into void like at the bad ending of the godmaster dlc
This is very similar to a moveset I came up with for The Knight. A few quick notes: - I could see Dreamshield being an easy backair. - For a pummel, I thought it'd be cool if The Knight used the stink from Defenders crest to damage their opponent, with one "click" representing a pummel. - A lot of characters could easily be referenced in the costumes, most notably Hollow Knight and Zote (probably as a replacement for the yellow alt). - The Hollow Knight is also a vessel, so just changing The Knights horns to look like the young Hollow Knight in PoP would make a lot of sense, maybe even a name change for the alt, although that would be kind of confusing. - Zote would be a cool refrence, but he's not a vessel so his moveset wouldn't make sense, although a Knight alt with Zote's face is possible and would be super cool. - The infection alt is a cool, but it would be even cooler if it looked more like the broken vessel. Maybe with a balloon head and a broken off horn. Good video man. Those aren't my only tips, but they're the easiest to portray without an argument. This is the closest I've ever seen to my moveset idea, and some of the gimmicks you thought up have actually made me rethink a lot of it. Good work overall, and I can't wait to see some other movesets you come up with!
A couple small details I'd like to add: using the down taunt will actually open up the stage map, even if it's set to never show; The Knight's position will be shown with their shell on the map to show their position, just like their native game; in the Bench victory screen, if you wait too long, they'll fall asleep; and why no Zote the Mighty alt?
1:43 the story is simple if you miss literally all of the lore, which I did, somehow. EDIT: Yes I know you can’t miss the scene with the pale king and the hollow knight but I didn’t have enough context to understand what was happening. All I got out of it was that the hollow knight had to be emotionless.
This is making me sad cos this moveset is so perfect and viable but it'll never happen:( I think if anything, they'd put Hornet in the game instead since Silksong is coming out and just have the Knight as a Mii Swordfighter costume or something, but I'd love it so much if they made the knight a playable character

@@rho-starmkl4483 Think about all the possibilities with Part of Her and the various mechanics in Celeste. And if Confronting Myself isn't the Final Smash track, then the world has no meaning.
I have some ideas for the Hollow Knight stages: --- 1. Overgrowth Mound (Greenpath) 2. Distant Village (Deepnest) 3. The Abyss (Ancient Basin) 4. Colosseum of Fools (Kingdom's Edge) 5. Junk Pit (Royal Waterways) 6. Godhome 7. Isma's Grove (Royal Waterways)
I feel like 2 key stages would be the black egg, a more enclosed stage, and the “dreamscape” aka radiance fight. These two are perhaps the most important in the game and should have prevalence over things like overgrown mound, although godhome is a good stage imo, as is CoF
What about City of Tears? It's one of the more important areas of the game and fairly large, and it's rainy and rather gloomy ambience would make a good contrast to most of the other SSBU stages.
I feel like he could have some custom win screens like joker, here are my ideas 1. If you win the game with 1 stock and high damage the knight would stand there spewing out void before his body collapses and his shade goes up some what referencing the true ending of the game where all the shades are freed and go back to the void 2. If you win with a final smash the screen would go black and a pair of six eyes would show up before the win screen pops up referencing the god killer ending (dlc ending)
Very cool moveset, though i would change some bits of it: The monarch wings should just be the double jump and not consume soul, and a cool way of implementing it would be to be able to use it after a nail bounce (like in hollow knight), only with half the normal height of the regular double jump... i already imagine it as a infuriating way of saving yourself after dooming your enemies with a nail bounce XD... So, for the up special i think we can actually use the crystal heart, and would work similarly to the fiery dash of fox, just without the burning effect... so you activate it with the up button, but you can direct it when you want before release... i think it would be fair, since the "infinite lateral dash" would not make sense for smash anyway, and it's not a huge stretch from the original move... Therefore, the side special would only be the shade cloak, but with the sharp shadow equipped, will do a little damage but will not have any knock back effect and you will get invulnerability frames... and of course it would retain the coldown, so if you want to spam it, you will end with the regular dash. Finally, the down special should just be the desolate dive, even when you already in the ground, just like in the original... healing seems too broken for me, and it's not really so out of character to remove it (i mean, MANY other smash character can heal in their own game, but cannot in smash) Also, instead of relagating the "shade" versions of attacks only with a max soul meter, they should appear after you charge the attack... like for example, the vengeful spirit could be used instantly and will consume 1 soul charge, while if you hold the comand for a bit, you will get a visible indicator, like sudden void particles that starts pouring out of the knight, or even better the "focus" animation, and launch the shade soul instead (while consuming 2 soul charges instead of one)... That could be applied for all the "shady" versions of the soul consuming attacks, and would only work if you have enough souls. If you don't have souls at all you could have much weaker versions of the base attacks, that cannot even be charged and still every one would end with a bit of end lag. Vengeful spirit becomes a short range version of the grubberflies elegy attack, basic nail damage and won't push back enemies, howling wraiths would be a single wraith with small knock back, and desolate dive would be similar to the downward move with the shade cloak that you would make with the dash master charm equipped, only you won't be fully covered in shade and won't have invulnerability frames and make little damage and knock back only in the small area where you land (you would still keep falling unless hitting something though). Finally the downward grab attack can use the void tendrill dragging down the enemy and trowing them out... And the parry bubble can have the transparent baldur's shell aesthetic effect. And i can already see an Hornet moveset for the future... and why not, both Quirrel and Zote can be funny assist trophies... And the dream shield as a temporary upgrade object!
Yeah I agree with most of this. Also Quirrel could do something similar to his fight with Uumuu and Zote could just flail around his nail like in the CoF, and it would do almost no damage.

@@gamegod6859 Yes, the Giants are big as f, but they could shrink it a little bit. I mean, they are Canonicaly, like 50 fts tall, and sometimes shown even bigger (in a trailer for Giants, Slam Blam was around only the height of Tree Rex Foot) But in the game itself, they are only about twice the height of a regular Skylander, making them more of a regular "3D Mario to 3D Bowser" proportion instead of a "3D Samus to 3D Ridley" proportion. Could make it same size as Bowser, or maybe sliiiiightly taller. I don't know, just thought that it could work based of the game material.
I thought up this entrance animation for The Knight being introduced: So basically it shows Mario falling into the Forgotten Crossroads and exploring and getting creeped out until he comes face to face with The False Knight. Just as The False Knight tries to swing his club at him, he gets slashed in the back and falls dead, with The Knight emerging from the shadows, cuing their announcement-thing or whatever it's called.
@@glad32 it's not the objective truth of the matter, it's the feelings surrounding the representation of that truth, false or otherwise. @@IronianKnight Dude, you implied they were close to turning very toxic and rude. They were never once even remotely rude in their comment, so I believe that you are really overreacting.
I appreciate this interpretation of how the knight might exist in smash. Having theorized a moveset for the knight myself in the past, I think this makes a subtle error that most people wouldn't consider. In single player games it isn't an issue, but for a vs. game like smash, it's important to make the moves a character throws out visually distinct so opponents can recognize them quickly and easily. I feel this moveset doesn't take this into account, not that it's a big deal for a fan concept. If you did a revision, I would swap out some of the moves that would end up looking near identical with either more distinctive charm based attacks (my preference) or moves uniquely developed for Smash in the spirit of the HK source material. Nice job anyway.
the knight's different colors could also be based on DLCs and port editions: purple for hidden dreams, red for grimm troupe, blue for lifeblood, yellow for godmaster, and black for voidheart.
Since we are on the subject of "The knight" as a Smash fighter. I think it would be a great idea if Hornet should be added as well since the game Silksong is coming out soon.
I think it would be really cool if there was a Shade mechanic. It would spawn from wherever the last hit was taken before getting KO’d. If you sd, it would just be in the middle. It wouldn’t be that complex, you would just need to hit it once or twice to kill it, but it could be interesting to see opponents try to guard it. However, just so that opponents couldn’t fully camp near it, it would move towards the Knight after either a set amount of time or when the Knight gets close enough. Also, after a bit more time, it would attack any nearby enemy, which could also lead to some really cool combos with it (side note: it wouldn’t fill up Revenge, just so that Incineroar couldn’t abuse it). When you don’t have the Shade, the soul vessel would be decreased and all soul attacks would be significantly weakened. I guess that this does sound pretty complex, but in-game it would feel much more straightforward.
My one wish is 9-Volt for Smash Bros. There is so many ways for a Nintendo Fanboy to reference Nintendo while fighting in his moveset! Even created my own move set for him! Entrance: Arrives on his hover board, jumping off it. A: Jabs with the wiimote and nunchuk and knocks the person back with a Wii Fit Board. Side Tilt: Pulls out a bag of N&B blocks to smack the opponent. Each hit causes several blocks to escape the bag. They don’t deal damage and are just cosmetic. Up Tilt: Taps on the bottom of a hanafuda card deck and the cards go up in a straight line before coming back down into the deck. Down Tilt: A row of Yakuman Mahjong tiles appear at his feet as 9-Volt pokes it and causes a chain reaction, knocking down the tiles. Side Smash: Charges up the Wireless-Cleaner Chiritorie And sends it flying out at the enemy. Longer charge means it’ll go further. Up Smash: Pulls out a Ultrascope and extends it to its maximum height. Down Smash: Uses a remote controller to drive a Lefty RX drives around him. The direction he is facing is where the car starts. Nair: 9-volt spins around with a joy-con in each hand like a buzzsaw. Fair: 9-Volt pulls out a oversized Gameboy Cartridge and slams it down forward. Acts as a spike. Bair: 9-Volt pulls out the E-Reader and swipes a card across it towards him, shooting it behind him. Uair: 9-Volt reaches up with a big open DS and closes it, causing damage to whoever is in there. Dair: He pulls out a GameCube and, holding it by the handle, slams it downwards towards the enemy. Grab: Pulls out a ultra hand and extends it out to grab opponents. Has the longest wind-up time but the longest reach as well. Can also be used to grab onto ledges. Hold: Uses the wire connecting the nunchuk to the Wiimote to choke them. Hold attack: Smacks his head against them like a Pikmin when they hold onto a enemy. Up-Throw: 9-Volt slams the foe into a oversized NES before they pop right back out like a piece of toast leaving the toaster. Front-Throw: Lifts the opponent up a bit before sliding his skateboard underneath them and pushing them away for a set distance until the skateboard disappears. Back-Throw: 18-Volt appears out of thin air, right underneath 9-Volt to spin the foe around and toss them backwards, flashing 9-Volt a thumbs up before vanishing again. Down-Throw: 5-Volt appears behind the held opponent and bashes their head in with her frying pan, burying the foe into the ground before vanishing. Standard B: Pulls out a NES Zapper and charges it up, shooting it out like Samus’s charge shot. He will be able to move around while charging it but the damage will be smaller than Samus’s shot. Side B: Pulls out his hover board and rides it off into whoever is in front of him. Functions like Wario’s bike mixed with Villager’s gyroid. He can ride and steer it, but one hit will knock him off. Up B: Uses the paddle from Color TV Game Block Breaker to bounce up. It’s like Pac-Man’s own Up B, but it’s one use only and anyone who comes across 9-Volt’s path takes damage a la Fox’s Fire. Also, he can only go up and can’t move until he reaches the peak of the bounce, and he won’t be in free fall, allowing him to dodge in the air. The range will be in between the 1st and 2nd bounce of PAC-Man’s trampoline. Down B: A virtual boy pops up onto 9-Volt’s face, getting redder and redder until 9-Volt presses the button again, releasing a blinding red light in the area in front of him. This is like Mewtwo’s Down B, But it can be charged to increase the effects, but waiting too long will result in it exploding and putting 9-Volt in a shield break animation along with dealing a decent amount of damage to him and anyone around him. Guard: Holds a Wii U Gamepad to his face. Final Smash: Drops a Giant Ultra Machine on top of the competition to start a cinematic cutscene. Whoever it falls on will be launched out of the machine while 9-Volt is at the plate, using a bat to launch them away. Taunt 1: 9-Volt pulls out a random amiibo and shows it off, initiating the pose the amiibo has. Taunt 2: 9-Volt pulls out a miniature DJ turntable and plays a quick tune. Taunt 3: 9-Volt pulls out a Gameboy Advance And Plays it. Alternate Colors: His colors used in the multiplayer mode for WarioWare Mega Party Games, A 18-Volt styled costume, His Hero outfit from his Microgame stage in Mega Microgames/Gold And without his helmet from the Gamer Title Card from Game And Wario. Victory Screen 1: Spins around on his hover board giving a victory sign until he gets dizzy, shaking his head to regain his senses and continue his pose. Victory Screen 2: Starts to celebrate on his own before his mother picks him up to hug him to show her joy for his victory. Cue 9-Volt squirming around trying to get out before admitting defeat. Victory Screen 3: Gets lifted up onto 18-Volt’s shoulders as they pose with 18-Volt complimenting 9-Volt like Doc Louis compliments Little Mac.
Like in Hollow Knight, I'm afraid that the Focus move needs decent payoff to be used because it's a risky move that makes you vulnerable, but can make a huge difference. You have to weigh your options, if you want to risk health for another health or two, or if you can survive and dodge to see the fight through. I'm afraid healing at 5% for 3 charges is not enough to make it worth spending 3 souls. By the time you've made yourself vulnerable, or right after you've finished focusing, you've probably incurred way more than 5% damage. I'd make it 1 soul for say, 10% or even more. I'd even take 2 souls for around 10%+. I know this is a fan video, and I see The Knight becoming a Mii Fighter costume, as much as I hate to say it, but I thought I'd throw in my opinion about it. PUMMEL: He could force a lot of Dubious Food from botw into the opponent that’s so nasty it damages them. F-THROW: Link takes out a Remote Bomb and detonates it, thus launching the opponent B-THROW: He could take out a burning weapon from his inventory and throw it onto the opponent thus launching them. D-THROW: Link uses the magnesis rune on a random metallic crate that appears and throws down on the enemy, thus launching them. U-THROW: He uses the Cryonis Rune below the opponent, so giant ice pillar appears and launches the opponent. EXTRAS: When Link respawns on the halo platform Mipha will appear. When shielding Daruk appears. Link would be able to crawl, glide, walljump, cling and have unique ability that lets him climb a small bit before the stamina bar runs out and puts him into free fall. Taunts: Side Taunt could have Link pull out his sheikah slate and squint at it before putting it back Down Taunt would have Link pull out some food and do the eating animation from botw. Up Taunt could have Link worryingly look around, before a guardian laser fires at him putting him on fire. Then Link would put the fire out. This taunt would deal 0,1% damage to Link. Colours: Regular is the Champion’s tunic A dark blue colour referencing Revali A dark red colour referencing Mipha A brownish yellow colour referencing Daruk A red and gold colour referencing Urbosa The botw sheikah colour scheme (beige and red) An alternate costume with Link in his female disguise A white colour referencing Zelda Link’s victory poses could be: Link parrying a guardian laser beam before posing in one of the camera rune poses Link sitting by a fire eating a lot of food before smiling at the camera. Him trying to take a selfie but a bokoblin attacks him and knocks him down. GIMMICK Each attack that uses a weapon has a random one each time you use it, and after a few uses they break. Let’s say he has 6 spears, 5 short swords and 4 two handed weapons. His bow can also break but he has 3 bows. His shield can also break and he has 4 of them. His pummel and down smash can also run out. They will come back once Link dies but what if all of them break and he’s alive? Well, his bubble shield, bow and attacks would be weaker. Then random weapons would appear on the stage that only he could pick up, and these would be MUCH stronger than his regular attacks. I’m talking Royal, Royal Guards and Lynel weaponry. The other items that ran out also respawn powered up. The dubious food is now just monster parts, and the down smash would feature much more gel. Another little gimmick would be that his moves using the runes would need to recharge a while. -------------------------------------- This is how I imagine he would be in smash, but I’m open to suggestions! I hate when people beg for likes but if you have read this far, first of all thank you! And second, a like would be appreciated.
I have 3 ideas for his final smash for you... 1. The one everyone is thinking of: a cinematic of the four divine beasts firing their giant blue lasers. 2. Urbosa's fury, it has to be activated on the ground, and has a short delay before automatically activating. Link charges a spin attack and a sphere will cover a large area, when Link releases the spin attack, lightning strikes inside the sphere, shortly shocking everyone inside it. If you're unlucky enough, and are next to link when he releases the spin, you'll be launched by the spin attack, and then get struck by lightning. and 3. similar to K. rool, or Incineroar, Link rushes forward on the master cycle zero, and if someone is hit by it, they get caught in a cinematic. the cinematic shows link ride in on a horse, (what the horse looks like would be random, occasionally getting Epona,) and then jump off into the air, firing two bomb arrows, and the an ancient arrow. obviously referencing the trailer.
i thought of my own moveset for the knight before finding this video, and i really like the creative liberties you took to make the moves more useful/interesting. the moveset i came up with was simply more faithful, with all of the spells mapped to their respective special directions and only using up SOUL from the meter if you held down the button, turning them into their stronger forms (or using the SOUL focus instead of vengeful spirit). the thorns of agony was also my pick for neutral aerial, so that was neat. also, what if the bench victory animation included salubra's blessing? it would make it much more entertaining and interesting to look at
An idea for the victory animation is. The knight crystal dashes into frame, then stop’s and looks up at the sun then they take out their nail as the sun grows wings and roars.
Can we get a new series: What if smash characters had gimmicks Each episode would be 3-4 characters without gimmicks such as mario, link samus, and it would give them gimmicks that would represent their games
I think the final smash should have Hornet pinning down the opponent as The Knight uses the dream nail. Once in the dream world he transforms into the Shade Lord and attacks the opponent in a similarity fashion as to how The Radiance was attacked by the Shade Lord.
Two final smashes. First, that one you described, but only without a full meter. The other one is with full meter, because it would cost the whole meter, but for good reason. Upon activation, the horizontal plane in which the knight is in receives a black streak. If it lands on anyone, the Void rises from below, and the Knight becomes the Shade Lord, wreaking havoc on the unfortunate just like his corruption in Godmaster. Thoughts?

I love how everyone has been building move sets for this guy lmao. Seen three move set builds for him and they’ve all been pretty awesome. Only things I’ve found weird are people saying focus should heal the knight some percent, and that no ones been really utilizing his shade that shows up at his death spot. The shade would be awesome for his grab game, pummels and stuff like rolls and spot dodges. Cause he seems more like a rush down version of Robin. Using spells and a sword but focused more on sword moves than spells. So having a longer grab range with the shade would make him better. Having shade cloak also be able to attack would nice cause you can do that in game. Press side B to use shade cloak and press A during the move to do a slash, ending his invulnerability state as he attacks. And desolate dive is a way cooler move to have as down B lol just have it do the short hop to slam when used on ground and a straight charge to dive when done mid air. Love the video and glad more people are rooting for the bad ass bug to get into smash
I think that Palutenas guidance in regards for the Knight would be somewhat like this: Pit: Oh, who is this little guy? He seems kinda... Dead inside? Palutena: That is the Knight, a knight of Hallow nest. They are an excellent swordfighter and is- Viridi: An absolute abomination! Destroy it Pit, crush it! Pit: W-what?! Why?! Palutena: I think Viridi simply does not like the fact that they are a construct of void. They are actually not considerd alive, not even by it's own mother. Pit: If they are dead then they should be trivial to defeat! Viridi: Do not underestimate it! For every strike on you it gets it gains more power, allowing it to preform powerfull spells made from soul. Pit: S-soul!? I don't want to lose mine! I need it! Palutena: Don't worry Pit, I will make sure your soul remain intact. No go on and spread my light to this being of the dark! (I apologize if my english is bad)

That Infection costume looks like it would be called “RedditKnight”
Tsarcastic yay
Good comment
I think an extra jump should always be free, similar to meta knights' wings.
His final smash should be the “Embrace the Void” ending.
YES
AWESOME
Agreed.
"The side B would be the shade cloak and do no damage"
Me: but... But.... Sharp Shadow makes it deal damage and go 25% farther
His FS could just skip the dream nail just have him slash with the tendrils from the start
Or their final smash could have him transform into the Shade Lord
@@alduintheanti-dragonborn That would be a cool thing I could possibly do for Smash.
but isnt the dream nail a massive part of the game. it should be somehow incorperated
I like how they improved this when he got to be playable in RoA.
The normal version is the Mothwing cloak and the Soul version Sharp Shadow
Edit: Also, sharp shadow is a combo finisher and a kill option
Well since it's a cinematic cutscene, the dream nail is probably necessary. In game, the knight only utilized the void tendrils while fighting the radiance, which was during a dream. Having the knight just turn into an explosive mess of void would be kinda random
The Knight: *gets added into smash*

Vemomat !! I don’t mind Byleth honestly. Dunno why people complain, he has a lot of new mechanics.

was thinking the same during the whole video lmao
hEalthy people (myself included) don’t like him cause A. He’s another FE Rep that no one asked for, and B. He’s not a 3rd party character, I.E a character not made by Nintendo
The shade cloak should act as if he had the "Sharp Shadow" charm on, and while I understand why you would have crystal heart as a charged side b but hear me out later
The double jump should be the monarch wings instead of the up b
Instead of the monarch wings, I think that the up b should be the crystal heart. Even though it doesn't go up in the original game, it could work like pits up b
The grab could make use of the void inside the knight, giving a grab range comparable to greninja
And the last thing, I think that focus should be a taunt rather than the down b because healing can be kinda broken, and this way the down b could be desolate dive all the time
I like the idea of having the better versions of the spells, but I don't think that the better versions should take more soul than the base spells
Luke yeah, like yung link milk
@@user-xd1wl2cq5v Desolate Dive works that way in game, so I don't see the issue honestly.

Brawl fan: The story of hollow knight is simple.
Me: Surrrrer…
The story is simple,
The lore on the other hand...
the egg yep. Lore and story aren’t the same
Well the story is straight forward, but there are shit load of lore and background in it
The story is simple: Long ago, the Radiance ruled the insect world, tapping into all their dreams.
A little something extra for the FS:
The activation box could be Hornet's needle coming in from offscreen. She could even yell at you to git gud
i was thinking the activation box could be something like when hornet lands on the hollow knights head before you fight radiance

BrawlFan1: “The story itself is simple”
The Hollow Knight Community: *ABSOLUTE RADIANCE*
Yes
Nah just let him ask mossbag about the 'simple' lore
the basic bits could be summerised in about 10 mins(if you skip a lot of detail. i mean a lot).
ABSOLUTE BS
You called
This is very similar to a moveset I came up with for The Knight.
A few quick notes:
- I could see Dreamshield being an easy backair.
For the pummel, sharp void tendrils could be used to slash at the opponent. Like in the ending where you dream nail into the Hollow Knight
The back air could also reflect projectiles, if it's going to be the dreamsheild.
Zote will be an Echo.
Ah yes
The sword character that doesn't actually have a sword
Yes
Nail in Hollow knight world pretty much counts as actual Sword so...

1:43 the story is simple if you miss literally all of the lore, which I did, somehow.
EDIT: Yes I know you can’t miss the scene with the pale king and the hollow knight but I didn’t have enough context to understand what was happening. All I got out of it was that the hollow knight had to be emotionless.
yeah, that makes sence.
Very true, the story is simple, the lore is, well... it’s hollow knight
I don’t get what was happening there they just look at each other and thats

Or were you talking about the scene to get the void heart
This is making me sad cos this moveset is so perfect and viable but it'll never happen:( I think if anything, they'd put Hornet in the game instead since Silksong is coming out and just have the Knight as a Mii Swordfighter costume or something, but I'd love it so much if they made the knight a playable character
I think it would be the other way round, with Hornet as a mii.
Quirrel, zote and lace would also be perfect as mii swordfighters.

When Silksong releases, she better be added.
There’s no way Hornet is getting added. Silksong isn’t even out yet and Team Cherry wouldn’t want to spoil Hornet’s abilities.

I have some ideas for the Hollow Knight stages:
---
1. Overgrowth Mound (Greenpath)
2. Distant Village (Deepnest)
3. The Abyss (Ancient Basin)
4. Colosseum of Fools (Kingdom's Edge)
5. Junk Pit (Royal Waterways)
6. Godhome
7. Isma's Grove (Royal Waterways)
What about the place where you fight the flukewarm
I feel like 2 key stages would be the black egg, a more enclosed stage, and the “dreamscape” aka radiance fight.
These two are perhaps the most important in the game and should have prevalence over things like overgrown mound, although godhome is a good stage imo, as is CoF
white palace seems like a great option for a ssbu stage
What about City of Tears? It's one of the more important areas of the game and fairly large, and it's rainy and rather gloomy ambience would make a good contrast to most of the other SSBU stages.
It’s have to be city of tears main square, with. Singing ghost
I’d like to see Susie personally! I’ve made my own moveset for her but I’d like see to see your twist!
Her attack patterns from the fight against her, Rude Buster, and the assistance of Ralsei, Kris, and Lancer could make for a decent moveset.
Which Susie? the one from kirby or deltarune?
omg that’s actually a great idea.. i want her in smash now
Please don't let it be Susie from KIrby,I'm seriously sick of her and I want her dead for good
Marko Vladisavljevic i got enough of her as it is: in a wheelchair.
I feel like he could have some custom win screens like joker, here are my ideas 1. If you win the game with 1 stock and high damage the knight would stand there spewing out void before his body collapses and his shade goes up some what referencing the true ending of the game where all the shades are freed and go back to the void 2. If you win with a final smash the screen would go black and a pair of six eyes would show up before the win screen pops up referencing the god killer ending (dlc ending)
that would kinda be a spoliler
Very cool moveset, though i would change some bits of it:
The monarch wings should just be the double jump and not consume soul, and a cool way of implementing it would be to be able to use it after a nail bounce (like in hollow knight), only with half the normal height of the regular double jump... i already imagine it as a infuriating way of saving yourself after dooming your enemies with a nail bounce XD...
Finally, the down special should just be the desolate dive, even when you already in the ground, just like in the original... healing seems too broken for me, and it's not really so out of character to remove it (i mean, MANY other smash character can heal in their own game, but cannot in smash)
Also, instead of relagating the "shade" versions of attacks only with a max soul meter, they should appear after you charge the attack... like for example, the vengeful spirit could be used instantly and will consume 1 soul charge, while if you hold the comand for a bit, you will get a visible indicator, like sudden void particles that starts pouring out of the knight, or even better the "focus" animation, and launch the shade soul instead (while consuming 2 soul charges instead of one)...
YES COMMİT ADD ZOTE AND QUİRREL!!!!
Yeah I agree with most of this. Also Quirrel could do something similar to his fight with Uumuu and Zote could just flail around his nail like in the CoF, and it would do almost no damage.

Yes, the Giants are big as f, but they could shrink it a little bit.
I mean, they are Canonicaly, like 50 fts tall, and sometimes shown even bigger (in a trailer for Giants, Slam Blam was around only the height of Tree Rex Foot)
But in the game itself, they are only about twice the height of a regular Skylander, making them more of a regular "3D Mario to 3D Bowser" proportion instead of a "3D Samus to 3D Ridley" proportion.

The story IS simple, the lore is complicated

Well this aged well.
I guess that this does sound pretty complex, but in-game it would feel much more straightforward.
i hardly know anything about hollow knight but i really want this character in smash
Great video!

man i wished:
1. broken vessel was an echo fighter (this guy is basiclly an infected version of the knight holding a lot of their attacks)
2. 2 different colors
the first one being light blue representing the life blood a powerful metarial that you find in cacoons within hollownest and the abyss the knight eye's will also be light blue with it
the 2nd however is brimeston red to represent the grimm troup faction an optional DLC that you activate in the game within an area that called the houling clifs
and i guess we could had a god master one but i think the shade one does that better because *that's 99% of players that get there alright*
The Knight should have its shield ability be the protective shell from the Baldur Shell charm.
I REALLY want a better botw Link, why did they change regular Link instead of making him more unique and represent Botw better!
I got a potential move set for him too!
NEUTRAL B: Bow (when used in the air it make Link fall a little slower referencing bullet time)
SIDE B: Remote Bomb
DOWN B: Counter (Daruk’s Protection/ stasis)
UP B: Revali’s Gale then paraglider.
JAB: A spear that stabs three times before leading into a rapid jab. (The weapons can change between different ones from botw)
DASH ATTACK: Spear dash attack from botw
F-TILT: A one-handed sword slash forward
D-TILT: Sword poke on both sides
U-TILT: Sword slice upward
F-SMASH: Two handed sword slice forward
D-SMASH: He could take out 5 chuchu gels that could be electric, fire, ice or normal. The chosen one is random that has it’s respective effect.
U-SMASH: He could stasis an object and start hitting it and when you let go the object flies up quite far in the air.
NAIR: A two handed sword spin 360 degrees.
FAIR: One handed sword aerial attack from botw
BAIR: Spear thrust backwards
DAIR: Spear aerial from botw (can spike)
UAIR: Spear stab forwards
GRAB: He could have a similar grab to the other Links but instead of a hook shot he uses magnesis.
PUMMEL: He could force a lot of Dubious Food from botw into the opponent that’s so nasty it damages them.
F-THROW: Link takes out a Remote Bomb and detonates it, thus launching the opponent
B-THROW: He could take out a burning weapon from his inventory and throw it onto the opponent thus launching them.
D-THROW: Link uses the magnesis rune on a random metallic crate that appears and throws down on the enemy, thus launching them.
U-THROW: He uses the Cryonis Rune below the opponent, so giant ice pillar appears and launches the opponent.
EXTRAS:
When Link respawns on the halo platform Mipha will appear.
When shielding Daruk appears.
Link would be able to crawl, glide, walljump, cling and have unique ability that lets him climb a small bit before the stamina bar runs out and puts him into free fall.
Taunts:
Side Taunt could have Link pull out his sheikah slate and squint at it before putting it back
Down Taunt would have Link pull out some food and do the eating animation from botw.
Up Taunt could have Link worryingly look around, before a guardian laser fires at him putting him on fire. Then Link would put the fire out. This taunt would deal 0,1% damage to Link.
Colours: Regular is the Champion’s tunic
A dark blue colour referencing Revali
A dark red colour referencing Mipha
A brownish yellow colour referencing Daruk
A red and gold colour referencing Urbosa
The botw sheikah colour scheme (beige and red)
An alternate costume with Link in his female disguise
A white colour referencing Zelda
Link’s victory poses could be:
Link parrying a guardian laser beam before posing in one of the camera rune poses
Link sitting by a fire eating a lot of food before smiling at the camera.
Him trying to take a selfie but a bokoblin attacks him and knocks him down.
GIMMICK
Each attack that uses a weapon has a random one each time you use it, and after a few uses they break.
--------------------------------------
This is how I imagine he would be in smash, but I’m open to suggestions!
I hate when people beg for likes but if you have read this far, first of all thank you! And second, a like would be appreciated.
Damn thats a good set, especially the dubious food
Smash Zelda pokemon Thank you!
Dude that's so good
I have 3 ideas for his final smash for you...
Samuel Ireland I forgot the final smash! God I am stupid. But I like all three of these!
Here's a suggestion the infection skin should have a crack in it's shell like the hollow knight
i thought of my own moveset for the knight before finding this video, and i really like the creative liberties you took to make the moves more useful/interesting. the moveset i came up with was simply more faithful, with all of the spells mapped to their respective special directions and only using up SOUL from the meter if you held down the button, turning them into their stronger forms (or using the SOUL focus instead of vengeful spirit). the thorns of agony was also my pick for neutral aerial, so that was neat.
also, what if the bench victory animation included salubra's blessing? it would make it much more entertaining and interesting to look at
Psssh, But what about DOOMGUY.. He’d rip and tear his way through the roster.

He did a what if doom slayer/doomguy was in smash video

This is actually incredibly well done! I LOVE the taunt ideas and the sitting on the bench for a victory screen! Now i want this in smash so bad!
An idea for the victory animation is. The knight crystal dashes into frame, then stop’s and looks up at the sun then they take out their nail as the sun grows wings and roars.
Monarch wings should have been the second jump like in the games
The Crystal Heart allows the Knight to "Crystal Dash," as I call it, not double jump. That's the Monarch Wings.
no he meant the wall clinging on the crystal heart not the double jump
“Benches act as your checkpoints and safe rooms”
Crystal Guardian: Imma stop you right there

@@TheMCCraftingTable You are tired. Sit and rest.
They should release an entire chapter which includes: the vessel, and hornet. Since silksong is also revealed.
YESS
add the hollow knight to the chapter too

Can we get a new series:
What if smash characters had gimmicks
Each episode would be 3-4 characters without gimmicks such as mario, link samus, and it would give them gimmicks that would represent their games
But random is already in smash!
Where?
@@liammaps2700 r u jestin'?
Uhhh... idk.
@@liammaps2700 you are joking right?
I don't get it.
I think the final smash should have Hornet pinning down the opponent as The Knight uses the dream nail. Once in the dream world he transforms into the Shade Lord and attacks the opponent in a similarity fashion as to how The Radiance was attacked by the Shade Lord.
I think shade cloak should have been the night's dodge
Two final smashes.
First, that one you described, but only without a full meter.
The other one is with full meter, because it would cost the whole meter, but for good reason. Upon activation, the horizontal plane in which the knight is in receives a black streak. If it lands on anyone, the Void rises from below, and the Knight becomes the Shade Lord, wreaking havoc on the unfortunate just like his corruption in Godmaster.
Thoughts?
Good
Please, no...
"Relatively new game"
"the story is pretty simple"
Bruhh
This comment section has made me despise the fanbase of my all time favourite game ever.
You people need to fucking stop. If someone who adores the game thinks you're all a bunch of fuckwits, I can't imagine what others see you as. Do you want to be the Undertale fandom? Cause this is how it happens.
Hollow Knight fans: Actually the story isn't simple.
Other people in the comments: OMG HOLLOW KNIGHT FANS ARE SO TOXIC!
@@Ninjamanhammer More accurately: You're a bunch of screaming idiots that make me genuinely upset I share a fanbase with you as I slowly watch you all become the Undertale fandom and die more inside.
@Tenno Skoom
No one is screaming. People are posting memes about it, they are having a laugh. You're the idiot who is interpreting having fun as taking offense.
@@tennoskoom9282 bruh it's you whos screaming
I think that Palutenas guidance in regards for the Knight would be somewhat like this:
Pit: Oh, who is this little guy? He seems kinda... Dead inside?
Palutena: That is the Knight, a knight of Hallow nest. They are an excellent swordfighter and is-
Viridi: An absolute abomination!
I can actually see (or rather hear) this happening
@@NotMadA47.2 I feel proud of myself for making this
I think the knight would get PTSD from the radiance or rather absolute radiance

What if Gordon Freeman was in Smash?
Is it wrong I want to see Fawful and Mundus in smash bros
His name would probably have the same reaction as when Hero was announced
Seeing as Hero's name is simply "Hero", I think it's safe to say that his name would simply be "Knight".
They could also call him Vessel if they wanted to be saucy

Okay, with silksong coming soon, you know we are going to be asking for Hornet to make an appearance.
