Thanks Sal. i'm a handyman and just do the occasional backslash. Never done a mosaic so this video was very helpful. Bit more challenging than single tile. Only problem I had was using pre-mixed thinset. Used a 1/4 notch trowel and knocked it down to prevent an uneven surface. The tiles were 1x2 and the thinset oozed through the grout lines. Too thin a mix I believe compared to your hand mixed. Thanks again! BTW if you are ever in Detroit and want to see a mosaic masterpiece let me know. Our former Italian pastor at St. Scholastica's, Fr. Livius Paoli, did mosaics as a hobby. He decorated the entire altar wall and thousands of square feet elsewhere in his spare time. About 60 years of work!
Thank you so much for these videos. I am just starting with flooring and I don't just want to install floor. I want to be the best. Your videos inspire me to do so.
with mosaic do you always start by cutting the bottom to make a straight edge or can you just put it up straight out-of-the-box and then fill in the tiny missing triangles?
Sal awesome videos ! What would be your solution to a shower drain grouted in ? I had my shower recently redone and the square 4 1/4 drain was grouted in so I cannot clean it out (it’s my wife’s shower so it’s only a matter of time before I’ll need to) thx great job as always
What is your advice for backsplash where the distance from the top of the countertop to the bottom of cabinets are not even. I wanted to do herringbone pattern like this or a classic brick lay, but I don’t know which would look better since the space is uneven.
If he was able to turn it 90degrees it wouldn't have been necessary to put in those 100+ little triangles if you look at 3:19 you will see he could cut off all the tips and had a straight edge

Great video, how much would you charge to do another one just like that
Hey sal, I see you use notch trowel then flatten mud then place tile. Why is that? Is it to,stop thinset bleeding through?
Maestro!!! 😅
Tried to figure out what kind if a substrate that was? Painted drywall perhaps? Was there any prep necessary like skimming, de glossing etc? Thanks
Do you find it hard on the back to do backsplashes as you always have to bend over the counter, Sal?

How much did you charge for this?
👍hey Sal is this mastic over Sheetrock?
Always thinset, haven't used mastic in many years.
@@SalDiBlasi lightweight thinset sal?
Hello,
What thinset did you use for the marble?
Everything you need to know about thinset mortar. ua-cam.com/video/_O9dU0JGiLQ/v-deo.html
Why did you knock down your rows that you troweled?
I can't way.
Sal great video . lay off the music.
I am too stupid to understand the difference between how 'she wants it' and how you would install it. Isn't it all the same? 😇
