  • I know, I know not as exciting as showing all the gymnastics but this is what helps make the gymnastics possible. I used to not like or appreciate conditioning as much as I do now. I have found what works for me and what I truly enjoy doing to make and keep my body strong. This is by far the strongest I have ever been and love how it feels! Also, you meet Mike who is the guy behind all the crazy Chellsie Challenges!
    I was so excited to finally have my first adult fitness and gymnastics class and so happy to continue with them!!

    Can we talk about how hard it is to find an adult gymnastics class if you don't live in a big city. Dear gym owners: adults are the ones with money. We want to tumble to!!!! Can we make adult gymnastics the next pole dancing craze????

    As a former gymnast with a shoulder injury similar to Chellsie, it's insightful to see the shoulder strength she has. I am slowly starting my fitness journey. Trying pull-ups was a disaster because even doing a dead hang on a bar hurt. I am going to back off on that idea and work with resistance band training first. Wish I was in Wisconsin for adult gymnastics class!!!

    Great episode as usual! At my gym we push "sleds" with weight on them up and down green carpet...one way we push high, on the way back we push bent over low...i love/hate it ...lol. I absolutely hate it while I'm doing it, but definitely feel good physically, and feel like I accomplished something after!

    You should do some "do it at home chellsie challenges" for us old 35+ retired gymnasts. Conditioning was always my favorite part, but as we get old life gets in the way.

    Im a climber and I always thought that gymnastic girls must be like the perfect climbers. They have the perfect body shape for that thing.

    I would love to hear more about your coaching style! How do you handle kids with more anxiety or if a kid has a hard/off day and you can tell it’s some external situation? What if there is an injury-we all know some coaches aren’t great about putting safety/heath first 😬 Of course your girls look so happy when training with you!

    ALSO... as a 38 year old dancing in professional contemporary dance company with majority 20-somethings, my ONLY goal with conditioning is to make me stronger than the young ones. I understand that competitive edge completely!

    My gymnastics club has had to close again because of COVID 🙄 any tips for things to do outside the gym to keep up the little conditioning I did have?

      Since so much of gymnastics conditioning is body-weight it's easy to do it with minimal to no equipment. A lot of the stuff in the Chellsie Challenges can be adapted to do around the house (and get creative! Soup cans or jugs of water can be used instead of weights, paper plates can take the place of sliders, etc.)

      Bummer! There is a lot you can do, going through your warm up and stretching. Lots of ab work, planks, handstands, squats etc!

      Reverse presses helped me a lot, so start in a handstand and slowly lower down. Also isolating straddle holds on the floor (the beginning of a press), and straddle holds against a wall (halfway up).

      @@djames425 never ccured to me to do them in reverse. If a friend loans me his shoulder I use that but can't seem to get upright on a wall.

    Love the press handstands on beam! Any training tips to get a press handstand back? It been a few (cough, cough) years..... I can jump to a handstand but would love to press it again. Thx! The Chellsie Challenges are awesome!

    Man....I wanna do gymnastics in Chelsea's class now. I am 43...never ever got opportunity to do gymnastics anywhere myself except summersaults and trying to practice for small town cheerleading which was basically a lot of grass stains and totally bad technique ALWAYS DREAMED of trying it...but I def need a Chelsea teacher lol

      Produnovas have been downgraded to stop people from trying them because they’re so dangerous and literally no one can land them safely (even produnova herself only landed it well 1 or 2 times)
      Even into the pit, It’s probably not a good use of time and energy when she could be perfecting her dty or practicing her amanar. If chellsie injures herself it’s pretty much endgame for her Olympic chance.

    I just learned I might be trying cartwheel wrong, I sortakinda thunk you did4 1/4 pirouettes. Also box jump reminds me I got to figure out a way away from an Amish woman's horse (horse's are evil), but not I discovered as evil as rings.

    my coach makes us do cardio everyday! we have to run 10 gym laps w pit,bars,beam and upstairs included. do u think that’s too much bc IT FEELS TOO MUCH😂

      We haven't had any issues as we don't do it everyday and not always in the same spots.
