what a voice!!!!! absolut beautifully fantastic singing .... and of course bravi to the orchestra and Petrenko...and because a lot of people sometimes forget to mentioned , that there is also a composer behind all this ....the greatest composer of the 20th century : Richard Strauss, who gave the Music world this genius Opera and so much more beautiful music....dear Clay Hilley....thx for posting
My favourite in this role (and others!) is Jess Thomas for Keilberth. There isn't quite the psychological insight or sheer beauty of tone of Thomas. I especially liked Thomas's use of mezze vice which this tenor seems to entirely lack, or the occasional squillo in the top notes which this role benefits from. On the other hand he gives the full stand and deliver powerhouse singing which is enough to please most audiences and complement a very satisfactory performance of this difficult opera. As such he is a thrilling talent, similar to Helga Brillioth I think. Let's hope he doesn't wear out his voice!
👏👏👏👏
Thank you Mr Hilley for your rare vocal intelligence and art.

Just beautiful singing!
Voice much bigger than Brilioth. Amazing voice. The real thing. Wow! I wonder who he studies with? Sign me up.

The part belonged to James King. But this tenor is really quite good- which means he will never be seen at the Met.
Spellbinding
