Seen them live in the Coogee Bay Hotel Sydney '96. As Angelo surfed I kissed my fingers and as he graced above me... I touched his forehead and he put his microhhone to my mouth! 3 times back and fourth as I sang words I can't remember . Love Fishbone.
Saw Lolla 93 in Orlando, Angelo signed his poetry book for me. We exchanged hellos with Norwood as well. Great guys and what absolute legends! Also saw em with NOFX opening in 1994. A life highlight.
They're so relaxed playing in this studio, so layed back with phones on when you can hear yourselves. The guys were hittin' it all just right here. Fishbone Love&Peace.
I love the long journey Fishbone is on. Never content to rest on their laurels, persevering, always determined to find new artistic directions despite innumerable challenges throughout the years. I love them with all my heart. They're an inspiration.
For those of you who haven't watch the documentary Everyday Sunshine the story of Fishbone give it a watch, it's a must see. It's a fantastic documentary and shows just how talented these guys were. The magic was in their maniac live shows which never seemed to translate as well on their albums unfortunately .
I never understood that criticism/possible reason for their lack of fame. Their first 5 albums were awesome and had tons of energy! Think they were just ahead of their time
Hi I saw them crazy punkfunk band in Bordeaux in 92 Angelo climbed to the theater balcony and dived on the crowd something like 2.5 meters high!!!! Fortunately no injury the fans were here for the reception!
I watched these guys back in 1989 at UCSD they were the opening act for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, at the time I did not know what I just heard and watched. Both bands were so different from what was going on at the time.
I LOVE this band. LOVE. I have seen them 19 times live & plan on seeing them again in August. That said, WTF were Rocky & the keyboardist doing on the first track? Sounds like they are doing a totally different song.
Thank you so much for recording and posting all these great performances you get at the studio. Pretty sure I still have some scars from FISHBONE shows......hahah
Fishbone deserves to be all the canonical level of famous as the peppers or no doubt achieved. They got shit on big time. Probably caused they say what the fuck they feel. I'm disappointed I dont imagine these guys flying round the world DC in private luxury jets and dusting giant shelves full if grammys
Doctor Madd Vibe is in the house! :0 I was crazy for Fishbone back in the day. Saw them at Slim's in New Haven around 91 or 92. I had the same awesome t-shirt as the dude in this video. Who is in this video from the day? Angelo, Norwood, Dirty Walt I think. Is that Fish on drums or Chris Dowd on keyboards?
SOOOOO ahead of their time! They didn't make it big because they were black as some argue. They were just to smart for the popular audience. Faith No More come's to mind as a white counter part. Although I think Fish Bone is better.
shit, i didnt know they were into George Carlin. Carlin was a huge influence on me. In fact, I think he's one of the people i'm most thankful for, excluding musically, bc that would be FISHBONE of course. "Where ya gonna put yer stuff?"
Fantastic, intimate interview with Norwood Fisher and Exclusive Behind the scenes footage with Fishbone. Norwood talks with host, IX Mendoza about music, race and the state of the USA. Norwood gets deep and it's one of the most important conversations you'll listen to. Check it out only on The B-Side ua-cam.com/video/PHsBwAvQ7WM/v-deo.html
Still the best live band in the world.
Seen them live in the Coogee Bay Hotel Sydney '96. As Angelo surfed I kissed my fingers and as he graced above me... I touched his forehead and he put his microhhone to my mouth! 3 times back and fourth as I sang words I can't remember . Love Fishbone.
10,000%
Ken oath they are
Yez!
I love that Angelo references Zappa, Sun Ra, and Duke Ellington.
Broad music choices but all are good
Saw these guys in 1993 on a Lollapalooza stop. Incredible live band. Angelo crowd surfed out to the soundboard and back,
Same show. Angelo finished playing and came back to watch the rest of the show in the with the crowd. All nice dudes.
Saw Lolla 93 in Orlando, Angelo signed his poetry book for me. We exchanged hellos with Norwood as well. Great guys and what absolute legends!
Also saw em with NOFX opening in 1994. A life highlight.
Fishbone soldier til the day I die!
Amen. Blessings to you!

There’s no doubt
They're so relaxed playing in this studio, so layed back with phones on when you can hear yourselves. The guys were hittin' it all just right here. Fishbone Love&Peace.
Old Crazy Funky Fishbone still grooving :)
This is the most important band to come out of L.A.

Most underrated rhythm section and front man ever.

I love the long journey Fishbone is on. Never content to rest on their laurels, persevering, always determined to find new artistic directions despite innumerable challenges throughout the years. I love them with all my heart. They're an inspiration.
Angelo Forever Moore blew me away at the Bowie Tribute show in San Diego last week. I am now loving what I hear from Fishbone.
Been listening since '88, still awesome!
For those of you who haven't watch the documentary Everyday Sunshine the story of Fishbone give it a watch, it's a must see. It's a fantastic documentary and shows just how talented these guys were. The magic was in their maniac live shows which never seemed to translate as well on their albums unfortunately .
Loved that documentary. It's been years since I originally saw it. Little sad at the end, but I think that's part of the story. Cheers, mate.
I never understood that criticism/possible reason for their lack of fame. Their first 5 albums were awesome and had tons of energy! Think they were just ahead of their time
all of their albums are great, though
Agreed Brendan, love fishbone :)
@@tombutler333 ......no energy on their albums could possibly translate the manic energy of this band live.

The best Ever!!!! Love you guys.
Classy
I truly regret never watching them at a live show back in the 1980's.
So good. I wish they had played Servitude though. That song crushes.
Brilliant!
Also, great interview. Fishbone dropping truth bombs.
This makes me so happy! Deep respect for that incredible sound you have.
I like their imagination and unpredictability . oh yessssss
"I've always been a man that believes in the glory of love/ yeah a fool and a sucker" lol😄
I LOVE this band. LOVE. I have seen them 19 times live & plan on seeing them again in August. That said, WTF were Rocky & the keyboardist doing on the first track? Sounds like they are doing a totally different song.

I'm disappointed I dont imagine these guys flying round the world DC in private luxury jets and dusting giant shelves full if grammys
These guys came all the way to Galesburg IL in 1985. That's dedicated. It was a great show until they PO'ed a Dean and the plug was pulled.
