I know he’s intelligent for two reasons. His ability to express his emotions and his Major being economics. Econ is an underrated Major that utilized mathematics and game theory to predict markets and business outcomes- he’s no spring chicken.
My neighbor and his wife who are both retired lost their life savings after being suckered into investing in crypto at its peak, he argued with me about how good of an investment it was when he didn't even understand what crypto and blockchain were. I told him it would crash as it had in the past and he blew me off saying I didn't have a clue about crypto even though I mined it for fun for a short time.
Your neighbors story is tragic but all-too-common. Crypto sucked in millions of traders who were focused on the big gains it made before the bubble burst and lack an understanding of finance, the history of fiat currencies, etc. A recipe for disaster.
So they put money in expecting to make instant gains? Investing doesn't mean put all ya money in and hope to become rich in 5 mins and if it doesn't work out then sell.
Lol. That's everybody's default position until they do a deep dive and try to fully understand it. Larry Fink said it was a scam too, now his fund has bought billions of dollars worth of Bitcoin in the past 2 months.
I never liked the crypto ads it, seemed it was pushing that you needed to invest to survive. I felt those who were pushing, were devising plans to become oligarchs controlling the world's banking system.
Why are people so impatient? If you are not prepared to hold Bitcoin thru a 4 year cycle don't bother with it. No one who has held on to Bitcoin for a 4 year cycle has ever lost a penny. Don't let someone hold it for you. Keep it in your own cold wallet. I'm 69 years old and if I can figure it out, so can you.
My crypto is still sitting on an exchange. I’m scared to move it, I really don’t know what I’m doing. I need instructions explained like I’m five. I hear about people messing up the transfer by one letter all the time and losing it all. People that know what they’re doing! So I figured the exchange is probably less risk than leaving it up to me with no experience

This is wonderful. Keep the skeptics on this cryptocurrency nonsense.Bitcoin is an intangible based on the greater fool theory. Buying Bitcoin is a fool's errand. It's unbecoming of a credible financial news source to keep talking about this rubbish.
I've been short BTC since April and doing well. Will ride it down to $15K or so, at least. Not for the faint of heart- one social media post by Musk can add 5% to the price overnight, e.g.
@@Tom______________ Thanks for caring. Mostly in the red, but have added multiple times in the last few months. Now, it's just wait for the 30-50%+ drop. Hard to say when- millions of uneducated speculators buying crypto can keep the bubble growing longer.
@@Tom______________ I only short BTC, but glad the BTC bulls have profied. I have the same short philosophy as Burry....identify a fatal flaw in an asset class, short and wait. He waited 3 years for his big payday, and I may have to do the same. GL.
